Elizabeth Warren on Occupy Wall Street: ‘I Created the Intellectual Foundation for What They Do. I Support What They Do.’ (Continuously Updated)

“I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do. I support what they do.” This quote, from Massachusetts Democratic senatorial candidate Elizabeth Warren, can be found in this otherwise unremarkable (and poorly written) article by Daily Beast writer Samuel Jacobs. It’s nice, in a way, that the true creator of the Occupy Wall Street movement has stepped forward to announce herself; after all, now we know who to credit for their motivation, goals, and actions.

Speaking of what the participants in Liz Warren’s brainchild are doing, let’s take a quick look at Occupy Wall Streeters around the country:

If and when these OWS protesters go beserk, how many Democrats are going to be running for the trees?

    • renl57

      If I’m reading Trumka correctly,
they’ll try to go berserk just outside the GOP National Convention. In which case the reaction from our liberal friends will be one of grim satisfaction.

(Remember how the riots outside the Dem National Convention in Chicago in 1968 wrecked Humphrey’s chances for election?)

The good news is that based on The Weather Channel’s extended forecast, I doubt the OWS movement will survive the winter.

      • hitthedeck

The protesters have to be hungry to continue their protest through a cold winter. Believe me, these people are not hungry but have enough of fat to hibernate throughout the winter. Maybe enough common sense will filter through their sheep like brains to figure out that they were making war on a scapegoat rather than the politicians that caused all the woes in the first place. This movement is coming from a bunch of users that have fathered their Marxist movement in a stealthy show of power. The sheep follow their directions thinking they will see green pastures. The end results could be a pasture of contaminated ground where nothing will grow.

    • gritsandall

foundation for the OWS movement, they are building their house on the sand like the foolish man in the Bible. As yet, I have not seen any intellectual mortar holding the divergent positions of this crowd together. There is no intelligence in any one position, never mind the congregate.

Anywhere else her support of OWS and” taking credit”!? for its intellectual foundation would be political suicide, as well as an argument to limit tenure to legitimate professors.

Ms or Dr.(?) Warren neeeds to consider this……….”It takes considerable knowledge just to realize the extent of your own ignorance.”

  • aesthete

If so, and if the statement is false, then it’s incredibly arrogant to exclusive arrogate the intellectual heft of a mass movement to one’s self without any credit to better thinkers or to the diversity of thought embodied in the movement (such as it is).

If the statement is true then, as you point out, she has bigger problems wrt moral responsibility for her intellectual heirs (again, such as they are).

David “KKK” Duke joined OWS today blaming the economic mess on those “vulture nosed Jews”. Glenn Bleck played the YouTube video tonight on his show and it was chilling to see the virulent anti-semitism.

Is this what you support, Elizabeth Warren?? Are you the brains behind this?

      • npaul

For Scott Brown, or almost any Republican running for national office, it seems like this would make a great campaign ad to flash those headlines up followed by Warren’s statement, “I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do. I support what they do.?

  • http://www.theprecinctproject.wordpress.com ColdWarrior

As Joel Pollack reports over at Big Government, back in 1988 Obama helped plan an “occupation” at a Chicago bank.

Just twenty or so years ago, Barack Obama wouldn?t just have supported the Occupy protests.

    He would have organized them.

    http://biggovernment.com/jpollak/2011/10/25/barack-obama-led-occupychicago-circa-1988/

According to Stanley Kurtz’s research, which Pollack quotes, the protesters

broke into a meeting being conducted by the bank president and local community leaders. The group was exploring the possibility of a deal with Waste Management. The protestors, presumably including Obama, surrounded the meeting table while [Mary-Ellen] Montes [of UNO] told the negotiators, ?We will fight you every step of the way.?

And, of course, Obama’s friend Bill Ayers is in the thick of it.

    Thank you.

Liberals are such idiots, liars and fools. Its no wonder they worship Obama, the don’t know who he is or what he stands for. Dems don’t know either but they’ll vote on the worst bills.

  • williamjameson

I don’t see suicide bombers an issue yet but small or large bombs is a possibility. OWS is Bill Ayers wet dream come true and he has slithered onto OWS Chicago to foment anger.

Heads up, Ayers brother Rick writes for the HuffBlo, doesn’t that make the Huffington Post a terrorist organization? By liberal standards of what they deem terrorist, the answer is yes.

I do wonder what Janet Napolitano thinks of OWS, not the weak line invented by political hacks.

    http://biggovernment.com/tloudon/2011/10/25/the-ayers-brothers-connection-coaching-occupychicago-calling-for-school-occcupations/

Former Weather Underground terrorist leader, and long time colleague of president Barack Obama, Bill Ayers is actively supporting the Occupy Wall Street movement, in his home town of Chicago ? while his education activist brother Rick Ayers wants to see the movement extended to the nation?s schools.

In an October 16 interview with Chicago Sun-Times journalist Laura Washington, Bill Ayers described the? Occupy? movement as a ?North American Spring,? akin to the ?Arab Spring? still playing out in North Africa and the Middle East.

    http://floydreports.com/is-occupy-wall-street-a-domestic-terrorist-threat/
Is Occupy Wall Street a Domestic Terrorist Threat?
But violence could hit closer to the OWS protesters yet. Suppose you were an innovative jihadist looking for new ways to strike fear into the heart of the Great Satan. Where would you strike? Terrorism, by definition, means targeting the civilian population to make a political statement. Where could you be assured that, wherever you are in the country, you would be able to locate a large, earnest, welcoming crowd of infidels?

If a suicide bomber wished to infiltrate an Occupy Wall Street protest, how would OWS ferret him out? True, he would stand out from the lily-white complexion of most of the protesters, but his presence would bring welcome ?diversity.? The violent and anti-American rhetoric of the OWS crowds would mask any clues the terrorist might let slip. Even if the left-wing rioters suspected something was awry with their newest member, their better instincts would be paralyzed with liberal fear of being branded a racist or Islamophobe.

That would mean actually presenting the whole truth as opposed to massaged snippets designed to evoke a specific outcry or demand.

THAT’s what progressive “Democracy” looks and its fueled by “Intellectual Foundations”.

The progressive points to the anchovy pizza you hate while presenting plain cheese as the only alternative. The fact of the matter is that there are plenty of far more satisfying alternatives and the ones that I would choose always include red meat.

    • williamjameson

and that’s an absolute fact that no real American could deny. Forget intellectual honesty, that’s an option with today’s media. All the more reason to deny media bailouts.

The liberal media have many more racists and anti-smites than they care to admit. Communists too.

Let’s play this game with George W. Bush who the majority of us supported in 2004.

    Harriet Miers for Supreme Court
    “I support George W. Bush.”

    Unfunded prescription drug mandate
    “I support George W. Bush.”

Two wars on the national credit card
    “I support George W. Bush.”

    Nuculer
    “I support George W. Bush.”

Clearly, no, I don’t support those positions even if I voted for Bush. Likewise, when you pick any old college kid with rocks in his head and say Elizabeth Warren supports their distractions, that’s either unfunny or ignorant, maybe both.

    • williamjameson

and yes its funny because republican candidates are being accused of supporting racism, birtherism, hatred of gays and being against the poor.

Calling RS members ignorant is damn right ignorant considering conservatives and republicans are discriminated in the MSM and liberal media weekly without just cause.

For all you know Warren may support several violations like hacking………find her position on Wikileaks. She also blames cops without knowing all the facts, remember Harvard Professor Gates and the beer summit. Warren is anti-wallstreet and she’s rather clueless on many fiscal issues. Till Warren denounces the crimes we must assume she supports OWS. Its fair game and its why we call it politics.

  • barron44

Of course, Elizabeth Warren supports OWS. These are her guys, today’s “marauding bands,” the crux of the far-out Left that will cure all the economic ills we have today in this country. Can you imagine, this woman (smarter than you and I) was advising Obama on economics. Even Obama could not take it.

this is how it started in Germany in the 1930′s. While I think most people look at these idiots a nothing to get upset about you better believe these people are dangerous. I think the one post above about the rough winter that is expected will shut the OWS down for teh most part. we just have to make sure it isn’t revivied inthe spring.
