Trump’s Legal Team Demands Investigation Into Dominion’s Voting Machines

President Trump is still refusing to give in. On Sunday, his legal team called for a national security investigation into the voting machines used in the presidential election.

Dominion Voting Systems’ voting machines and vote tabulation software is suspected of artificially inflating former Vice President Joe Biden’s vote totals. However, the company claims that these suspicions are unfounded.

Sidney Powell, a key member of Trump’s legal team, told Fox News’ Maria Bartiromo that “it was designed to rig elections.” She continued, stating that the president should fire CIA Director Gina Haspel for allowing it to be used in the U.S. “It should never have been installed anywhere,” the lawyer said.

The company has been a source of controversy due to its links to late Venezuelan authoritarian leader Hugo Chavez. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, who is also on Trump’s legal team, called for a national security investigation. “It was used to cheat in elections in South America,” he insisted. “I can’t imagine you would [use] that unless you were out of your mind.”

Suspicions about Dominion’s software arose when it was discovered that its ballot scanners and software switched 6,000 votes from President Trump to Biden in Antrim County, Michigan. The glitch was found and corrected. Much of the speculation regarding potential voting irregularities centers on the fact that Dominion’s machines are used in over two dozen states.

Of course, left-leaning media outlets have downplayed the possibility that Dominion’s machines could be faulty. The Associated Press published a “fact check,” suggesting that there was no evidence proving the validity of the president’s claim. In a statement post on its website, the company stated that allegations regarding its machines are “100% false.”

“Dominion Voting Systems categorically denies false assertions about vote switching issues with our voting systems,” they wrote. The site linked to a Homeland Security report defending the integrity of the 2020 presidential election.

From the report:

“The systems and processes used by election officials to tabulate votes and certify official results are protected by various safeguards that help ensure the accuracy of election results. These safeguards include measures that help ensure tabulation systems function as intended, protect against malicious software, and enable the identification and correction of any irregularities.”

The Washington Times reported:

“Republican officials raised alarm when a Dominion ballot-scanning machine in the Republican stronghold of Antrim County reported unofficial results showing Mr. Biden beat Mr. Trump by about 3,000 votes.

Election officials then discovered the ballot scanner and reporting software had been misconfigured and gave votes for Mr. Trump to Mr. Biden. After fixing the mistake, Mr. Trump won the county by roughly 2,500 votes.”

Michigan claimed that the vote switching was the result of human error. But those who are skeptical of that claim point out that machines that are susceptible to vote switching could be manipulated by people trying to unfairly swing the election to their preferred candidate.

While the Democrats and corporate press are claiming that Dominion’s voting systems are completely immaculate, it seems that the Trump team has some valid concerns over the matter. If the left is so confident in the company’s voting systems, they shouldn’t be opposed to a national security investigation just to be sure, right?
