“Big Labor Takes Hold in South Carolina”

“Big Labor Takes Hold in South Carolina” is a headline Democrats would love to see.
“Right to Work” laws that empower workers and place restrictions on organized labor have created jobs by attracting companies like BMW and Boeing to make the Palmetto state their home. But what’s good for the people of South Carolina is not necessarily good for the big union bosses in Detroit and San Francisco.
Unions know that I’ll stand on the side of the free-market, protecting the interests of the people, not union bosses. That’s why organized labor has been the single largest contributor to my Democrat opponent (Jane Dyer), funding nearly 40% of her campaign!
We’re working hard, visiting with voters every day in homes, coffee shops, businesses, and even hay fields.  But we need your help for this final push if we’re going to be successful.

Just today I learned my Democrat opponent is loaning $50,000 of her own money to her campaign.  We expect most of this money will be used to attack and distort my message and platform.

I need your help now more than ever to financially support our campaign.  Time is short, and your last minute donation of $100, $250, $500, or even $1000 will give us the ammunition needed to defend against false attacks and ensure this seat won’t fall into the hands of Nancy Pelosi and the Democrats.

Because time is short, you can either send in your contribution by mail today (PO Box 732, Clinton SC 29325), make a donation on our website HERE, or donate over the phone by calling 864-430-2730 and speaking with a member of our campaign team.

Thank you for supporting our campaign with your prayers, time and financial support.

Uncertainty

Hey guys,
Who creates jobs? Depends on whom you ask.  If you’re asking Nancy Pelosi or the Obama Administration, they’ll tell you the government creates jobs.  If you were to ask the rest of us, we know small businesses are responsible for job creation.
In the midst of the Great Recession, we need to do everything in our power to get Americans back to work.  Yet Washington politicians continue to create a culture of uncertainty in our economy.  ObamaCare, Cap & Trade, and bolstering labor unions with “Card Check” legislation all cause small businesses to doubt their ability to make profits in the coming years. This prompts many companies to stop hiring or, worse, close shop and ship jobs overseas.

In short, the policies coming out of Washington aren’t improving our economy; they’re prolonging the recession, increasing unemployment, stifling job creation, and racking up massive amounts of debt.

And if Washington hadn’t already proven that they were completely tone deaf, Congress is set to raise taxes on every American.  If Congress doesn’t act to extend the tax cuts, 88 million taxpayers in the lowest tax bracket will pay an additional $500 per year.  Middle-income families will see an average increase of $1,500 per year; and small business owners will pay more in capital gains, income, and inheritance taxes.
As one conservative leader recently said: “raising taxes on job creators won’t create jobs.”  I agree completely!  That is why, in disagreement with my Democrat opponent, I support a tax cut for every American.  As your next Congressman, I want to bring certainty back to our economy.  We can do that by reducing the tax burden on hard working Americans, easing government regulation, and quite simply getting the government out of the way!

I’m a small business owner, and I know that if we’ll simply return our government to the Constitution and manage our nation’s finances like we would manage our own that our economy will come rocketing back.

Jeff Duncan (R nominee, SC-03): My hero…

Hey guys,

Limit government, lower taxes, reduce government spending.  These were three of the key principles of Reaganomics, principles that brought our country over 20 years of economic growth and prosperity. I strongly believe if our government will simply get out of the way and return to those principles, our economy will come rocketing back.

Enough is enough! The American people are sick and tired of the borrowing, the bail outs, the takeovers, the debt and the reckless spending that have been far too common in Washington over the past few years.

I’m running for Congress to return conservatism to Washington.  Please help our effort by watching the one minute video below and forwarding the e-mail on to your friends and family.

Jobs, Guns, Healthcare and Term Limits

Hey Guys,

Last night the voters of the Third District had a chance to see two distinct visions for our country.  We had a good, civil debate and I’d like to thank WYFF and the League of Women Voters for giving us the chance to get our message out on live television.

After last night, one thing was made unmistakably clear.  There are major policy differences between myself and my Democrat opponent.  Here’s a summary of some of the major issue differences that came up yesterday.

Role of Government:

I believe the role of government should be limited and scaled back to reflect the intent of our founding fathers.

My Democrat opponent believes big and intrusive government is a good thing, and that we should embrace a greater governmental role in our daily lives.

Second Amendment:

I believe in the right to keep and bear arms, and for my support of the 2nd Amendment the NRA and Gun Owners of America have endorsed my candidacy.

My opponent supports restricting the 2nd Amendment, and attacked my concealed weapons permit proposal but didn’t even know enough about the issue to know South Carolina’s age requirement for a permit until I corrected her.

Health Care:

I believe that the failed ObamaCare legislation should be repealed and replaced with free market based solutions.

My opponent believes that it’s the government’s role to be in charge of heath care, and does not support repeal.

Term Limits:

In an earlier debate, I talked about my pledge to support institutional term limits for all Congressmen and Senators as a way to end the corruption coming out of Washington.

My opponent opposes term limits of any kind, perpetuating the problem of creating more career politicians.

These are just a few of the clear distinctions between myself and my Democrat opposition, and explains exactly what’s at stake this election cycle and why I need your help today to do one or more of thefollowing:

  1. Donate to our campaign
  2. Write a letter to your local paper
  3. Place a yard sign in your yard
  4. Send this e-mail to at least 10 of your friends and family members

I need your help to bring common sense, small business inspired solutions back to Washington.

Jeff Duncan (R nominee, SC-03): Time to Fight!!

Hey guys,

As you know all too well, the policies coming out of Washington impact us all.  Americans are sick and tired of all the spending, borrowing, bailouts, takeovers and debt that are mortgaging away our children’s future and destroying our way of life.

I’m running for Congress because we need to change the direction our nation is headed, and that change begins with:

·      Removing Nancy Pelosi as Speaker of the House
·      Balanced Budget Amendment that prevents out of control spending once and for all
·      Term Limits for all elected officials
·      No more bail outs
·      Extend the Republican tax cuts
·      Repealing and Replacing ObamaCare

In order for us to enact these principles and return our government to the Constitution, I need your vote on November 2nd and I need your help today! Please visit my website to learn how you can get involved.

God Bless,

Jeff

National Right to Life Endorsement

Hey guys,Last Friday, I was honored to have earned the endorsement of the National Right To Life organization. In their letter, they noted my continued “commitment to renewing a culture of life” in South Carolina and beyond.  I am grateful for their support and I look forward to defending the sanctity of every human life in Congress.

You can view their full endorsement letter below.

Jeff

Dear Jeff Duncan

The National Right to Life Political Action Committee is pleased to endorse you for election to

represent South Carolina’s 3rd Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives.

This endorsement reflects your commitment to renewing a culture of life, not only in South

Carolina, but throughout the nation and in the U.S. Congress.

Recently Democrats in Congress voted to enact President Obama’s health care legislation, which

will provide government funding for health plans that pay for abortion on demand, and promote

the rationing of lifesaving medical treatments.

Your support is needed to reverse the pro-abortion and rationing effects of that health care

legislation.

You are a strong advocate for life: you support pro-life legislation and you oppose the use of

federal funding for elective abortion. We look forward to working with you to restore legal

protection for innocent life – unborn children and medically disabled or dependent persons

whose lives are threatened by abortion or euthanasia.

The countless Americans who respect the sanctity of human life appreciate your willingness to

serve. This willingness to take up the fight for life makes us proud to endorse you in the

upcoming election.

Sincerely,

David N. O’Steen

Duncan (Cand, SC3): Fighting Against Negative Attacks

Hey guys,

Over the past 16 months, we have worked hard to run a positive campaign based on the issues. This past week, our campaign, joined by local leaders from across the state, held events all over the district to talk about my ideas and my solutions for the challenges facing the families of South Carolina’s Third Congressional District.

Unfortunately, my opponent, Mr. Cash chose to spend his week attacking my integrity and character, misleading the public on my stance on term limits, my career, and about how we’ve funded our campaign. Mr. Cash has made a decision not to talk about his own ideas on how to improve the lives of the people of the Third District, and has instead decided to attack my character. This is truly unfortunate, and an example of everything that is wrong with politics in Washington.

Our elected officials should be held to a higher standard than throwing mud and misinforming the South Carolina people. My proven conservative record is clear, and is verified by my endorsements from the National Rifle Association, the Club for Growth, Conservatives of America, I-Caucus, and conservative activists across the district – many of which Mr. Cash also competed for and lost.

While I would much rather continue to spend the next several days before the runoff discussing the issues, I think it is important to address the misleading and untrue attacks coming from the Cash campaign once and for all. Hopefully, I can then return to discussing our positive reform message that has been playing on televisions and talked about in living rooms all across the Third District.

  • Mr. Cash has inaccurately accused me of being a career politician on multiple TV ads, in his campaign literature, and at public forums. This is completely false. I am NOT a career politician, but a small business owner. Through hard work and dedication over the last ten years, I have built my real estate and auction business. As a small business owner, I know what it’s like to balance a budget, to make payroll, and to deal the challenges facing small business owners across the country as they deal with the current economic recession. Because of my dedication to serving my state, I also serve part-time in the South Carolina General Assembly. I was recruited by my community to run for the state house, and have served there for eight years– only two years longer than gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley. I have no interest in being a career politician and have pledged to sign Senator Jim DeMint’s term limit legislation the moment I’m elected to Congress.
  • Mr. Cash has wrongly accused me of taking over $250,000 in special interest funds. This claim is extremely misleading, and is not only an attack on me, but is also an attack on Senator Jim DeMint. Because of my consistent stance supporting fiscal responsibility and traditional family values, I have been recognized as one of the top conservatives in the nation by many conservative organizations, such as the National Rifle Association and Club for Growth. Some of these groups have encouraged their members to donate to our campaign. Under federal election law, when a contribution is solicited from an outside organization, we are required to report the name of the organization that made the solicitation on our behalf – so it shows up on the report as being from that organization. However, every donation from Club for Growth members is a check written directly to our campaign – not, as Mr. Cash so inaccurately stated a donation from a “special interest group.” Additionally, the $250,000 number Mr. Cash references is staggeringly overblown, in that it includes advertising from third party groups, which by law we cannot control or have communication with. In his attack on donations from supporters of these nationally recognized conservative organizations – organizations that have endorsed other conservative leaders across the nation, like Senator Jim DeMint and solicited donations on their behalf as well – Mr. Cash is attacking conservative activists who believe in limited government and fiscal responsibility. My record reflects my consistently conservative stance on both fiscal and social issues – fighting both Democrats and Republicans to do what’s right for the people of South Carolina – and proves without a doubt that I’m not beholden to any group, except for the people of the Third District.
  • Mr. Cash has claimed in his TV ads and mail pieces that I don’t support term limits. Again, this is simply not true. I have said publicly, including at several recorded debates that I support and will sign on to Jim DeMint’s term limit bill that would term limit all elected officials. Sen. DeMint’s bill would limit a Congressman to three terms, and limit a Senator to two. Additionally, I term limited myself as a state legislator.

I appreciate the opportunity to clear up this false accusations, and I would appreciate your support in forwarding this message along to your friends and neighbors. Below is a link to an important video that will help voters get an understanding of where I come from, and what I plan to fight for in Washington. While these accusations are negative, I believe the message we are sending to Washington is a positive one. With your help, we’ll reform Washington by putting an end to the policies that are mortgaging away our children’s future!

Jeff Duncan (Cand, SC3): I Believe

As a Christian, Husband, Father and Small Business Owner, I know what I believe in.

I Believe in God. Our nation was founded on Christian values and principles. I believe that life begins at conception. I believe traditional marriage is the foundation for society. And I believe that Washington will never be the solution to man’s problems, therefore we must reject the political correctness that has driven God from the public square.

Jeff Duncan has achieved a 100% rating from the National Right to Life Committee & the Palmetto Family Council.

I Believe in the Constitution. From the second I lower my right hand and take my left hand off the Bible, I will adhere to my oath of preserving, protecting and defending the Constitution. I believe in the Second Amendment. I believe in States Rights. And I believe in fighting to bring government back in line with the Constitution.

Jeff Duncan has received a 100% ranking from the NRA & Gun Owners of America.

I Believe illegal immigration is a national security problem. America is the envy of the world. I believe we should welcome and reward those who want to come here legally. I believe we must secure our borders and enforce our immigration laws. I believe we should reject amnesty. And I believe in enforcing the rule of law by eliminating automatic citizenship for those who cross our borders illegally.

Jeff Duncan has earned the endorsement of the Minuteman Project.

I Believe in limited government. Government is too big, too powerful and has grown beyond taxpayers’ ability to pay for it. I believe that the economy prospers when we lower tax rates. I believe in a Balanced Budget Amendment to the Constitution. And I believe in term limits for all politicians.

Jeff Duncan won the endorsement of the Club for Growth & Conservatives of America.
