The CDC Knew About the COVID Vaccine and Risk of Myocarditis, but Forgot to Send the Memo

The Epoch Times exclusively obtained an alert from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), which was supposed to be issued to state and local officials, showing that the connection between the COVID mRNA vaccines and myocarditis was indeed valid. The alert was dated May 21, 2021, months after VAERS reported its first finding of a link between the vaccines and heart inflammation in December of 2020

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) prepared to alert state and local officials to an emerging connection between heart inflammation and COVID-19 vaccines, but ultimately did not send the alert, according to a new document obtained by The Epoch Times.

All four COVID-19 vaccines that are or have been available in the United States can cause the heart inflammation, or myocarditis, according to studies, experts, and agencies like the CDC. The first cases were reported shortly after the vaccines became available in late 2020.

The CDC sends alerts to federal, state, and local public health officials and doctors across the nation through a system called the Health Alert Network (HAN). Messaging through the system conveys “vital health information,” according to the CDC.

But this alert from the CDC was never sent out, even after cases documenting instances of myocarditis poured in and were documented on the VAERS database. Young men 18-30 and men over 55 appeared to be particularly at risk. Much of the coverage from Israeli studies, where the majority of the male population was vaccinated and boosted, and by the U.S. Department of Defense first showed a growing concern but then changed their tune, downplaying the risk as "mild."

But it wasn't.

Entrepreneur and philanthropist Steve Kirsch has followed the response to COVID and the effects of the mRNA vaccines closely. Kirsch was one of the first to raise the alarm about COVID vaccine injury, and he began tracking cases of vaccine injury that resulted in myocarditis. In 2022, Kirsch wrote on his Substack that internet searches for "myocarditis" and "COVID vaccine" increased after the introduction and widespread dissemination of the COVID vaccines.

Here are some of the reasons why the interest in myocarditis went up so much:

  1. VAERS data shows that the rates of myocarditis caused by the vaccine are far greater than the rates caused by COVID (see VaccineEssentials slide 48). According to this CDC MMWR report, “During 2020, the number of myocarditis inpatient encounters (4,560) was 42.3% higher than that during 2019 (3,205).” That’s why the bars in 2019 and 2020 below are about the same height. The incidence rate caused by the vaccine is way higher than for COVID (and it wasn’t caused by “over reporting” as I’ve explained many times before). There is no other way to explain this.

Kirsch reaches these conclusions with a challenge to anyone to debunk his data and come up with a more compelling reason why public concern over myocarditis increased after the COVID vaccines were administered. Now, in January of 2024, the Epoch Times confirms that the CDC knew yet did nothing to alert local and state health officials so that they could alert the American people.

In May 2021, CDC officials drafted an alert on myocarditis and the two most widely used COVID-19 shots, according to the newly obtained document, which is being made public for the first time by The Epoch Times.

“This is the most recent draft of an alert as discussed. Happy to discuss,” Dr. Demetre Daskalakis, the CDC’s top official for equity in COVID-19 data and engagement, told two other high-ranking CDC colleagues in the email.

It was titled “draft alert on myocarditis and mRNA vaccines.”

Within that timeframe, respected and published epidemiologists like Dr. Martin Kulldorff, Dr. Scott Atlas, and Dr. Jay Bhattacharya were being censored on social media for trying to alert the public of the harms caused by lockdowns and this push to distribute a vaccine that was proving more unsafe than not.

Dr. Bhattacharya appeared on Megyn Kelly's podcast in 2022 to discuss the lawsuit against the former Twitter (now X) and Facebook and how this suppression of information from respected physicians questioning the efficacy of the vaccine ultimately cost lives.

From a layman's perspective, this is on par with the Tuskegee Experiment. The federal government used unsuspecting Black sharecroppers for decades to study syphilis, allowing people to suffer and die. Now, the federal government knowingly held on to information that should have been used by medical doctors to help people make decisions on whether their taking the mRNA vaccine would put their health more at risk than COVID ever could. This was taken out of their hands. There was no informed consent. Yes, there is sovereign immunity for the CDC, its studies, and "recommendations," but does gross negligence fall under that immunity umbrella?

Asking for myself and all the family, friends, and colleagues who lost loved ones, livelihoods, the ability to learn, and so many other things that mattered for the sake of a manufactured crisis that, in the end, did not matter.
