"Feminists" Are Freaking Out That Pro-Lifers Want to Join the Women's March

On Monday morning, “feminists” on Twitter were in a tizzy that a pro-life feminist group, New Wave Feminists, had been granted partnership status in the upcoming Women’s March.

Leading the charge was author Jessica Valenti:

Bolstering those who harm us? Note her choice of words to describe New Wave Feminists. “An anti-choice org.” Not, “A pro-life org.” Because if Valenti used the word “life,” people might be reminded that the “choice” they are making is, in fact, between life and death.

Here’s a thought for those advocating for “reproductive rights.” How about calling your movement “Pro-Abortion” or “Anti-Life”?

Valenti claims to be an expert on gender issues and feminism, and takes it upon herself to inform the rest of us women that feminism = justice = abortion, and anything else is a myth.

We’ve never thought that feminism is “anything a woman does.” Speaking for myself, feminism *is* about justice – about ensuring that laws and rules apply equally to women and men. It’s about celebrating femininity, and not about destroying masculinity. Yet that’s exactly what Valenti and the Women’s March folks are about (in addition to their obsession with destroying future generations).

From the Women’s March “Unity Principles“:

We must free ourselves and our society from the institution of awarding power, agency and resources disproportionately to masculinity to the exclusion of others.

On her website, Valenti describes her book “Sex Object” as:

“…a book about the cumulative impact that sexism can have over a lifetime. It feels like we have a language for what it means to deal with one instance of misogynist – being a ‘survivor’ for example – but we don’t have a word for what it means to live in a world that hates women. That’s what I was trying to get at in the book.”

A world that hates women? There are certainly many places in the world where women are systematically oppressed and abused, but the United States is not one of them. There are still far too many instances of American women being sexually harassed in the workplace or not given enough credit for their intellect and contributions, but Valenti’s brand of feminism leads to animosity, distrust, and division instead of progress.

“Feminists” tout their sexual freedom and embrace the hook up culture, but then claim that any time a man looks at them with desire (which is only natural – it’s biology…) that they are being oppressed.

“Feminists” talk about abortion and abortion rights as if it’s a religion, but they don’t talk about the effect it has on both women and men. If they really cared about women’s emotional and mental health, they would ensure that women contemplating abortion had ALL of the information they need, including ramifications that will be felt for years. Instead, they teach that it is a “procedure” one can just undergo and come out as good as new.

“Feminists” forget that when a woman decides to get an abortion, the father is affected too. John Cooper, lead singer of the band Skillet, authored the song “Lucy,” detailing a couple’s turmoil post-abortion. He says of the meaning behind the song:

“They went to a clinic, they had the procedure done, and at first they felt relieved that all their problems had gone away. But then something happened that they did not expect… and that’s over the next few weeks, which turned into a few months, they began to feel an intense sadness… and a pain and an agony and a guilt that wouldn’t go away…The counselor said here’s what you need to do — stop acting like you had a procedure, and act like you had a death in the family.

A death in the family. Something that needed to be mourned – a loss of something that was more than a clump of cells. For a group supposedly so enamored with science – at least when it comes to climate change – they sure forget a lot about human biology.

I’m sorry, Jessica, abortion is not central to feminism. Allowing all women to be educated, to make informed choices – including life – is central to feminism.

In fact, the first female presidential candidate was pro-life. Is Jessica telling us she’s not a feminist?

Getting back to today’s story, unfortunately the Women’s March organizers gave in to those who want to censor divergent thought, and New Wave Feminists is no longer a partner in the event:

The last sentence says:

The anti-choice organization in question is not a partner of the Women’s March on Washington. We apologize for this error.

Now the “feminists “who attend the march can safely spout their propaganda in a bubble, and wonder why an increasing number of women in this country are telling them #YouDontSpeakForMe.
