Want to Know Why Homeland Security Lost Track of a Syrian Refugee?

Down in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a Syrian refugee just stopped checking in. Word got out about it, and, as of right now, no one knows where the guy is, except that he is probably heading to Washington D.C.. Now, that sounds pretty bad, and it is cause for concern. However, if you want to take a bad situation and make it worse, just say the following.

Once in Washington DC, the refugee was apparently supposed to “check in” with authorities there, according to state officials.

However, [mc_name name=’Sen. David Vitter (R-LA)’ chamber=’senate’ mcid=’V000127′ ] (R-LA), who has been on top of the issue ever since, said he spoke with the Department of Homeland Security today and they confirmed to him that they do not, in fact, know where the refugee is.

Homeland Security say they have no information on where the Syrian refugee is. Also, they said the refugee could not be “kept up with” because of his constitutional rights, according to a spokesman for Vitter.

Vitter, who has been an adamant opponent of bringing Syrian refugees into the country and specifically the state, said this specific case comes down to political correctness.

This story has been covered extensively by John Binder at The Hayride (follow him on Twitter), and from start to finish, this plan to place those refugees in Louisiana from start to finish has been a bad idea. Matters have now been made worse with this revelation that one is missing. And now it’s one thousand times worse as we see why they didn’t keep up with him.

If that is the case – that there was a concern for his Constitutional rights – then that poses a big issue, because now we’re not just not vetting them in any meaningful sense, we’re not monitoring them, leaving us in a supremely compromised state of being.

This isn’t a matter of xenophobia or Islamophobia. It’s a matter of national security. We are allowing people we haven’t and honestly can’t meaningfully vet into the country and not monitoring them. You should be publicly exposed for owning a gun, you should be protested and your business shut down if you are a Christian, but you should not for any reason want to know the whereabouts of someone who comes from a country filled with people who want to see America as a smoldering ruin.

If I didn’t know better, I’d say this administration was hellbent on making the conditions ripe for another attack on American soil.
