Traveling political comedian and Hillary Clinton ally David Brock has decided to take an entirely expected course as the debates get closer: He wants the Commission on Presidential Debates to drop Chris Wallace as a debate host. The reason? His former boss, Roger Ailes, is an adviser to Donald Trump.

Apparently, it’s a conflict of interest.

“I am disappointed that an organization that prides itself on being non-partisan would make such a selection. I would respectfully ask that you reconsider your selection of Chris Wallace — or any current Fox News employee — as a presidential debate moderator until Donald Trump and Rupert Murdoch cut ties with Roger Ailes,” Brock wrote.

I don’t have to point out to you that this is hilarious, given the media’s predisposition to lean to the Left on pretty much every issue, throws softballs to Hillary Clinton (whenever she deigns to let them talk to her), and has openly discussed going after Trump.

I also don’t have to point it out to Brock, but that’s largely because he lives in a delusional world where the Republicans run everything and are probably trying to kill him (no comment).

What I do want to point out, however, is that Wallace did a great job in the primaries, did a fine job interviewing Clinton one-on-one, and has openly stated he doesn’t want to play the “Gotcha!” game during the debate, already making him something new and refreshing in the debate scene: someone who doesn’t want to be the news.

Clearly, we shouldn’t have that tomfoolery in our debates.

Brock, like many other Democrats, must be seeing something extraordinary in the polling. They see Clinton’s support bleeding. It’s no so much that Trump is gaining ground. But the other candidates (Johnson, specifically) appear to be gaining much of the support Clinton is losing. Whatever is happening in the polls, the Clinton camp doesn’t like it, and a Fox News host who might be a decent moderator doesn’t bode well for her.
