Apparently, Keith Olbermann is presently unemployable. His stints at MSNBC, ESPN, and whatever the hell Al Gore’s network was have all let him go within the last few years. One might think that this is the result of being just awful at his job, but he has an alternate theory.

In the Sunday Times Magazine piece titled “Keith Olbermann Was Once Cable News’s Liberal Standard-Bearer. Now He’s Missing Its Boom Times,”the former “Countdown” and “SportsCenter” host shared he had negotiated with CNN, where he worked in the 1980s.

“There was an offer, then there wasn’t an offer, then there was an offer. And Trump didn’t like me, and apparently exerted influence on that,” said Olbermann.

Because, as we all know, there are no professional relationships stronger than the one between Donald Trump and CNN.

A CNN spokeswomen told the Times Magazine that there were brief conversations about Olbermann joining Headline News Network (HLN), which is also owned by Time Warner, well over a year ago — and without any involvement from Trump.

Wait, hold on. It wasn’t even CNN proper? It was HLN? Hahahahaha.

Olbermann is also in talks about returning to MSNBC, the piece goes on to say, but the network asked him to do it without the obnoxious rantings and ravings he was known for. Rather than have a job, he walked away from those talks.

This is a man who thinks the world cannot do without his brand of rhetoric… nevermind that the networks he brought it to got nothing for it. He isn’t as big a draw as he thinks he is.

But, never you mind that. Clearly, this is all Trump’s fault.
