Andrew Breitbart Stares Down Astroturfers: They Blink.

While many of us were in Austin for the RedState Gathering over the weekend, Andrew Breitbart was up in Chicago having some fun at some hate-filled, OFA lefties’ expense.

According to Andrew Marcus over at Big Government:

On Saturday, September 18th, Glenn Beck and Andrew Breitbart headlined an event entitled “Right Nation 2010,” held just outside of Chicago, Illinois.

As you will see in our video report from the scene, when Andrew Breitbart arrived at the Sears Centre, he was met with an angry mob of protesters who were calling for an ‘end to hate’ while also hurling expletives and homophobic slurs toward the targets of their enmity.

While the video (after the break) has some expletives, it shows the empty vacuousness of the OFA and its supporters.  Watch how, when asked to present some any factual basis for their zombie-like chants and hate-filled placards, they stare blankly, mouth agape, before slinking away…

When the organizer of the OFA protest is confronted [video here], the Rev. C.J. Hawkins from the Interfaith Worker Justice/Arise Chicago, her answers are as empty as that of her protesters.

The Interfaith Worker Justice is a pro-amnesty organization that formed a “partnership” with the AFL-CIO a few years ago and is one of the anti-free market groups participating in the October 2nd March in Washington.

Though we’re not sure if they collect union dues from unemployment checks, they produced a spite-filled video…

so, it’s likely only a matter of time…

That said, I think a trade guild may be a better way to organize things.

As I recall, some reporter managed to get a union boss to admit that providing the guys being paid to walk the picket line with the benefits and pay rate that the carpenters were demanding would be “too expensive”. Apparently, he said it with a straight face and didn’t see any irony in the situation.

I had to go lie down after I got done laughing at that.

I don’t know how to embed this, but there was a clip on John Stewart last night where his correspondent Sanjiv went to cover a UFCW strike of Walmart that was manned through a temp agency with minimum wage workers with no benefits, whose hours were cut. It was right on point.

Just as the Tea Party exemplifies those who are turned off by politics as we currently know them,, Reverend Hawkins may be a poster child why more and more people are being turned off by the main stream religious institutions in this country.

“…more and more people are being turned off by the main stream religious institutions in this country.”

I admit that I am reliably disgusted whenever I see lefties at the pulpit in churches. I don’t know why spouting left-wing politics is permissible in churches because the same cannot be said about right-wing politics. If conservative or Republican politics are spoken from a church pulpit then that church can count on its tax exempt status being revoked.

But, be that as it may, I would like to know what the statistics are regarding your implication that main stream religious institutions are in decline. You may be able to make the case about certain individual denominations but I was not aware of an overall decline.

      • neomom

been declining in numbers since the sixties… especially the more liberal ones.

He practically swallows his tongue when asked to provide one — just one — example of what he is ostensibly there to protest. He “fell into a trap” a long time ago.

It is the adults versus the children, with age not a factor. There are 16-year-old kids with a firmer grasp of reality than most of an entire generation.

Andrew should of given a free pass/invitation for that woman to join the hate filled Event of Right Nation 2010. In my view a possible convert/voter just walked away. Thats a shame. I missed opportunity for enlightenment.

but it was obvious that both of them were sincere. I think they walked away with respect for each other, and to her credit she looked like she was pretty disgusted with the display of the astroturfers.

to learn how to confront and hold one’s own against the lunatic leftist fringe.

Breitbart just stayed on his firm ground: the truth. He asked questions and demanded answers and would not allow the subject to be changed.

A few other good examples have been posted here at Redstate.

    Here’s one:

    http://www.redstate.com/moe_lane/2009/04/25/liz-cheney-breaks-nora-odonnell-on-torture-discussion/

Stay with the facts. Challenge and correct every misstatement. Do not allow the subject to be changed until the libturd answers your questions.

Then, when you leave them sputtering, tell them, as they leave, “Don’t go away mad, just go away.”

Right on, ColdWarrior… Indeed, this video demonstrates the perfect methodology for facing down these hired stooges. Breitbart keeps it focused and never lets the stooges dodge or change the subject. Watch it again and circulate it among your friends. Be sure this video gets the legs it deserves.
Thanks for the great post LaborUnionReport!

The protesters just walked away when they had a chance to get on national TV with Andrew Breitbart.

  • jackhammer

no it isn’t. There are words that begin with F, Qand others which are actually “homophobic slurs”, but gay is pretty tame, and I am sure almost everywhere an accepted synonym of homosexual.

AB is a bit effete though, gotta admit.

    • gbenton

even bringing it up appears to be used as a derogatory statement.

Why bring it up? The astroturf person was clearly intimidated by Breitbart’s direct and unwavering stance – so they played the ‘gay’ card.

Props to Breitbart for confronting them and getting the slur on tape.

These folks were revealed to be everything their own signs said… hateful, cowardly, and crazy.
