Fires, Fraud, Democrats & The SEIU: It’s a Real Work in Progress(ivism)

We’ll just lay the facts [emphasis added] out for you. Then, you can decide if you believe in coincidences:

Fact One: In 2008, a group of  citizens in Harris County, Texas saw what appeared to be a massive attack on the integrity of the election process:

When Catherine Engelbrecht and her friends sat down and started talking politics several years ago, they soon agreed that talking wasn’t enough. They wanted to do more. So when the 2008 election came around, “about 50” of her friends volunteered to work at Houston’s polling places.

“What we saw shocked us,” she said. “There was no one checking IDs, judges would vote for people that asked for help. It was fraud, and we watched like deer in the headlights.”

[snip]

“Vacant lots had several voters registered on them. An eight-bed halfway house had more than 40 voters registered at its address,” Engelbrecht said. “We then decided to look at who was registering the voters.”

Fact Two: Last month, a mysterious fire broke out that destroyed most of the voting machines for Harris County, Texas. [Houston is in Harris County.]

Fact Three: The fire occurred three days after Harris County voter registrar Leo Vasquez issued a press release stating:

“The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes” Vasquez said at a 2 p.m. press conference at his office, where he also released copies of applications in some of the most egregious cases.

Houston Votes is the get-out-the-vote arm of the Texans Together Education Fund.

“Evidence shows that the Houston Votes and Texans Together organization are conspiring on a pattern of falsification of government documents, supporting perjury in a deliberate effort to overburden our processing system,” he said.

Fact Four: As arson investigators continue looking into the blaze, their focus seems to be less centered on arson than on what may have been the building’s electrical system.

The Houston Fire Department has not yet ruled out arson as the cause of a massive fire last month that destroyed most of the county’s voting machines. But arson investigators are working on the theory that it was accidentally fire that started in the building’s electrical system.

[snip]

The fire destroyed almost 10,000 voting machines — the county’s entire stock.

Immediately, there were questions about the cause and about the possibility that it was deliberately set to disrupt the Nov. 2 election.

For the last month, fire investigators have been combing the debris.

On Thursday, Arson Chief Gabe Cortez said they have found no evidence an accelerant, such as gasoline, was used in the fire.

Fact Five: On September 2nd, the Texas Democratic Party sued  Harris County registrar:

As it did in 2008, the Texas Democratic Party has sued the Harris County voter registrar in federal district court for what it says are violations of voter registration laws, political favoritism and violations of voter privacy.

Fact Six: When the aforementioned concerned citizens (who later formed a group called True the Vote) found questionable registrations, it appeared to be concentrated to one group:

Most of the findings focused on a group called Houston Votes, a voter registration group headed by Steve [Sean] Caddle, who also works for the Service Employees International Union. Among the findings were that only 1,793 of the 25,000 registrations the group submitted appeared to be valid. The other registrations included one of a woman who registered six times in the same day; registrations of non-citizens; so many applications from one Houston Voters collector in one day that it was deemed to be beyond human capability; and 1,597 registrations that named the same person multiple times, often with different signatures.

[snip]

“The integrity of the voting rolls in Harris County, Texas, appears to be under an organized and systematic attack by the group operating under the name Houston Votes,” the Harris voter registrar, Leo Vasquez, charged as he passed on the documentation to the district attorney. A spokesman for the DA’s office declined to discuss the case. And a spokesman for Vasquez said that the DA has asked them to refrain from commenting on the case.

Caddle can also be seen on this video.  Note Caddle’s comments at 4:40 that he does not deal with the fundraising…

The Sean Caddle above appears to be the same Sean Caddle from New Jersey who settled in Colorado for a time and ran for the position of Finance Director of the Colorado Young Democrats who noted in his bio:

I have been raising or helped raise money for Democratic Candidates for the last six years of my life. I believe that I have the background to move the Finance position in a different direction with the many ideas that I have. Raising money is not easy, it is very hard to ask people you have never met in your life to contribute funds for something they may be barely involved with, but in order to run effective programs you need funding and I believe I can move the position in a direction that will get the Colorado Young Democrats the proper funding we would need to run our programs well.

I have been involved in Politics for the last ten years of my life, and for the past six I have solely worked in politics for a living. I was the former Deputy Executive Director for the Hudson County Democratic Organization as well as being the Field Director for such candidates as Congressman Robert Menendez, Governor James E. McGreevey, and Mayor Glenn D. Cunningham. I was also the Campaign Manager for Assemblyman Louis M. Manzo, and currently I am his Political Consultant and his Finance Director. I am also currently the State Director for Colorado for Health Care. I have run for office twice as a County Committee Man in New Jersey, winning twice on the ballot with U.S Senator Robert Torricelli and County Executive Thomas A. Degise. All this being said I would not think it is a stretch to say politics is my life.

Fact Seven: One candidate running as a Democrat in District 133 in Harris County, is Kristi Thebaut, formerly affiliated with ACORN [h/t Anita MonCrief]

Of course, between the fire, the fraud, the SEIU and ACORN connections, they could be just mere coincidences…

Keep moving.

Nothing here to see, citizen.

Move along.

or Texas Rangers of some law enforcement get involvedd? You can’t count on the Federal authorities for any help, they are all in the pockets of SEIU, Acorn or its successors and the corrupt Department of Justice which is no longer color blind?

    • luciusacius

They are regularly tasked with investigating public corruption cases. Election fraud is within their ambit. The Texas Department of Public Safety (the Rangers are part of the DPS) answer to the AG and the Govenor. Letters to Greg Abbott, the AG and Rick Perry need to be written by concerned Texansdemanding an investigation. (My letter goes out tonight). Houston has been trending Demoncratic for some time now. The reason is probably pro Demoncrat fraud.

The Texas Rangers are legally tasked with exactly this kind of thing, plus maintaining public order and quelling any “disturbances” (= riots) that may follow. And in the days of the sovereign Republic their primary task was patrolling and maintaining the border, all the way from the Rio Grande up into what we know today as northern New Mexico. (BTW no offense to our many RSers and their families who work in Border patrol, ATF, etc., but I think the Rangers did a better job in their day with riots, election fraud and border security than the feds today because the Rangers didn’t have a massive hostile bureaucracy to answer to.) Sounds like the Ranger companies based around the state are going to be very busy now and in the future, doesn’t it? I suspect Perry is just watching to see if local enforcement handles this and if it doesn;t in will go the Rangers. But you won’t see press on it for awhile, they like to perform almost incognito and low key until the point drawing arms may be necessary. If that happens, they always win. Just ask John Hardin, Sam Bass, Bonnie & Clyde, etc., etc.

There needs to be a nationwide law-enforcement or “deputized” citizenship watching our voting process, especially at the “booths”. With all of the “Community Organizations,” that Mr. Obama has been financing [with taxpayer funds] counseling and coaching for the past twenty years, patriotic America has a duty to oversee our voting process, in every state. How can patriotic America help? “Democrats gone wild,” will end up just like another day in Venezuela!!!

From the Texas Democratic Party’s 2010 Platform:

“Texas Democrats support the principled and courageous efforts of Democratic legislators to defeat restrictive voter ID and proof of citizenship legislation…” (p. 34)

    http://www.ragingelephants.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/08/2010PartyPlatformComparisons.pdf

Hand (your union thugs systematically undertaking fraudulent voter registration on a massive scale) meet glove (Democrat Party fighting efforts to make voters prove they are who they’re supposed to be, and that they’re actually eligible to vote).

If it walks like a criminal conspiracy, quacks like a criminal conspiracy and accomplishes the nefarious goals of a criminal conspiracy, gee, maybe ….

  • robmull

It’s very easy to see that America has become Venezuela North; and the more “Hugo” insults America, the more I believe “WE,” have become “strange bed fellows”. If it looks like a broken border, acts like an SEIU and smells like an obamanation…

  • mirac777

Lets see, is the Fire inspector in a Union that may pressure them to find no arson? Probably. Will the D/A step up and really prosecute this fraud? Well, if they are running for re-election this would be a great platform.. yet if they support this Democratic corruption.. Nothing to see here, just move on folks.
Everyone needs to step up in NOV> I am an Independant. The GOP here says since i am not registered with the GOP, I cant be a poll watcher. I know my rights.I, and 9 of my friends have all made a pledge to take shifts watching 7 polls here in Florida. Florida has its share of Illegals too. These are the bodies they try to exploit for illegal votes.I,m taking a Video camera. I will be asking voters questions. I speak fluent Spanish.I know they are setting this type of voter fraud here too, and they have Florida as one of their targeted areas.I will be sending in my report first to Redstate here. TY RedState for doing the reporting the media refuses to do! Get out and be a poll watcher in NOV!

  • robmull

The TARP and “Stimulous” money that was supposed to go towards helping America has gone to Democratic “special interest” groups that financed Mr. Obama’s election to the tune of $866,000,000.00. and is now financing Democratic candidates seeking office. That’s “FRAUD”.

  • timchgo9

we even hope to win in November, against this kind of highly organized, and dedicated effort to corrupt the election process….

Around here in Illinois, especially in Chicago, the democrat voters will be marching in lockstep to the polls, being herded along by ACORN volunteers and SEIU members.

  • tlhanger

The voting laws need enforced everywhere. Seems like all democrat so called strongholds need checked into and make the vote of one person one vote hold and clean out the death roles so they cannot be used.

    • dude

but it may be time for the purple finger system.

  • billbowen

I hate to say it but I’m not surprised at what is happening in Harris County. I lived there in the mid-80s and even then vote fraud was a problem.

Poll Watchers this year will be CRITICAL. Honest precinct workers at the voting sites need your help and I’ll tell you why: you would be amazed at how little actual authority the poll workers have. An example: thanks to Willie Brown and the Demorats in the CA legislature, I, as a poll worker, CANNOT ask you to show ID – I have to take your word that you are who you say you are. If your name is on the voter rolls and I KNOW you are an illegal alien if I question you I have committed a FELONY under California law!! You’ll be allowed to vote and I’ll be hauled off to jail for obstruction of an election.

Now on the other hand if a poll watcher challenges a voter I can let the suspect voter vote but only with a Provisional Ballot, and the outer ballot envelope will be marked with the reason why the voter was given a Provisional Ballot. Whether the possibly fraudulent ballot will be followed up on depends on the local Board of Elections – this is one reason why ACORN & SEIU try to “flood” the process – there are limited resources to investigate vote fraud, so they figure the more crooked ballots they can generate the more likely they are to be able to get them counted.

Yes, things really are that screwy in California (and I’ll bet in other states as well).

You also need to put as much pressure as you can on the Sec. of State – many of them are ACORN/SEIU flunkies (Ohio, California & Minnesota are but 3 example). Their allegiance is NOT to a clean election but to the outcome their supporters desire. Hold their feet to the fire and raise holy hell if they don’t follow up on voter fraud. BE LOUD AND OBNOXIOUS IF YOU NEED TO BE!!! Remember, it was vote fraud in the MN Sec. of State’s office that put Al Frankin in the U.S. Senate.

The conservatives CAN win a fair & corruption-free election – it is OUR job to make sure the sunshine is shown on the process to make it free & corruption-free.
