AFL-CIO Boss: Fox & ‘Confused’ Tea Partiers Deliver a ‘Cynical, Deeply Dishonest, and Incoherent Message.’

AFL-CIO Boss Richard Trumka, the same guy who pled the Fifth Amendment  before Congress is doing all he can to carry the Democrats’ water for the mid-term elections, including (but not limited to) demonizing Tea Party activists.

Last Friday, Trumka lobbed some rhetorical grenades at Tea Party activists using terms such as confused, cynical, deeply dishonest, and incoherent.

Trumka and Working America Executive Director Karen Nussbaum, New York Times columnist Bob Herbert, Eric Alterman, journalist and senior fellow at the Center for American Progress, and moderator Katrina vanden Heuvel, editor and publisher of the Nation, led a panel discussion—Which Way for the Working Class? Elections 2010 and Beyond—Friday afternoon in New York City.

More than 400 people attended the event at the Great Hall at Cooper Union.

Trumka said it is vital to channel working-class anger away from Fox News and Tea Party extremists who are delivering

a cynical, deeply dishonest and incoherent message—that big government is somehow to blame for the current crisis that the budget deficit will eat our children, and that illegal immigrants took all the good jobs.

Trumka also used his talk to confirm his apparent embrace of socialism.

In the short term, said Trumka, the labor movement has to “recapture the moment and take control of the national conversation.” Building for the future,

we need to fundamentally restructure our economy and re-establish popular control over the private corporations which have distorted our economy and hijacked our government.  That’s a long-term job, but one we should start now.

Union activists, progressives, socialists, and communists are converging on Washington this Saturday to reaffirm their commitment to ending free-enterprise and to work to get out the vote in November.  However, Trumka’s comments pointedly show the disdain he has for Tea Partiers, as well as many union members who are tea party activists and don’t ascribe to Trumka’s pushing America into socialism.

What will happen once all the large private corporations are ransacked by that bum….? Who will earn the money then?
Does he think that people will invest their money only to have it stolen by the unions like it was with Chrysler and GM ?
When someone realizes that all their profits will be seized by employee unions they may not be so willing to take the risks of starting a business.
What would be the point ?

The only dishonest message being delivered is from Trumka.

Trumka promotes unions as organizations that will support jobs and empower America. The truth is that all that they will empower Socialist scum like him and in the process they hurt cripple the U.S. economy….while producing nothing.

If his message wasn’t a Socialist one, why whould he only speak to NY Slimes, CFAP (John Podesta), and The Nation? Why wouldn

No, really. I have a dairy in draft on just that subject, LUR, and while I know you would do it more justice, Trumka and I go back to the Yablonsky days, Coal tattoo stuff.

everywhere. I think he has a lot more on the slop that is his mind then a pure & peaceful democratic process Trunka was always more than a little nuts, he’s on the edge & wants more out there with him.
I don’t think he will have trouble enlisting aggressive misfits from the ample cesspools of the left. As a matter of fact I’m sure The O could give him some good tips. He knows a good bomb maker in Chicago for starters.

    1) Big government is most certainly to blame for the current crises, that isn’t even debatable, plenty of evidence there.

    2) The debt will indeed effect our children and grandchildren but way before that it will effect us. Because we are headed for big time inflation at the rate we are going.

    3) Illegal immigrants didn’t take all the good jobs, the took all the medium jobs, and that is still a big problem.

Anymore questions you need answered you ridiculous union thug?

need to be controlled by non-politician Taxpayers, Politicians only see the ease of spending our money to get themselves elected. Either that, or reverse letting civil servants unionize.
Either way, when it happens, get ready for European style strikes. Without politicians, maybe the babies temper tantrum can be allowed to continue until they give up.

Prior to becoming Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO, Trumka served as International President of the United Mine Workers of America from 1982 to 1995. In 1993, while Trumka was president, a man named Eddie York was shot and killed by a striking mineworker when he tried to drive past a picket line. A little over two months later Trumka demonstrated his remorse when he told the Associated Press: “[I]f you strike a match and you put your finger in it, you’re likely to get burned.”

but that was a slow climb up, and that organization didn’t have the future of the Democrat party, nor the favorable media coverage.
So for a person with the mind of a rat & criminal the choice was simple.
It’s true of most of the trash on the liberal[?] side of the fence, including The O. Who wants to lead a quiet, honest life. Become a lawyer then hook up with the Democrats.

Are you saying that the unions are somehow a distinct organization from the mafia?
