U.S. Chamber to Biden: How’s that shoe leather tasting, Joe?

Oooh! Now that's going to leave a mark!...

The White House and the Democrats have got to be freaking out right now. In a desperate display of gutter politics just three weeks before the November mid-terms, they’ve launched an all out assault on one of America’s oldest and largest associations of job creators, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Unfortunately for the White House and its allies, the Chamber has very simply and adroitly given them a smack down…hard!

Here’s the back story:

The Obama administration and its allies are going all out against the U.S. Chamber of Commerce and GOP-leaning groups, accusing them of using foreign money to help finance political ads. Trouble is, they’re providing no evidence.

[snip]

And in Pennsylvania, Vice President Joe Biden kept up the attack on the chamber and other groups that are spending millions of dollars in political ads against Democrats without having to reveal their contributors.

“I challenge the Chamber of Commerce to tell us how much of the money they’re investing is from foreign sources,” Biden said during a fundraiser for Democratic Rep. Chris Carney in Scranton. “I challenge them, if I’m wrong I will stand corrected. But show me, show me.”

So, the Chamber answered Joey “BFD” Biden’s challenge:

On Monday night, Tom Collamore,  the Chamber’s Senior Vice President of Communications and Strategy responded to Biden on the Chamber’s blog:

While campaigning in Scranton, Pennsylvania today — according to the Politico — Vice President Joe Biden said in talking about our campaign contributions:

“I challenge the Chamber of Commerce to tell us how much of the money they’re investing is from foreign sources. I challenge them. If I’m wrong, I will stand corrected.”

We accept the Vice President’s challenge here and now, and are happy to provide our answer:

Zero. As in, “Not a single cent.”

We hope this clears it up, and hope the Vice President keeps his word and stands corrected.

Given the gutter-level of the DNC’s mud-slinging ad, which the Baltimore Sun’s David Zurawik describes as “the politics of fear, slander and divisiveness,” the U.S. Chamber’s response to Joe “BFD” Biden” was probably more polite than need be.

would have been… ‘zilch, zero, nada’

It is my experience that the Democrats LOVE to launch a pre-emptive attack on the Republicans ANY time THEY [the Democrats] do something questionable.

I doubt the Chamber of Commerce is using foreign money to oppose Democrats … but since they mentioned it, I’ll bet the Democrats are using foreign money to oppose Republicans. SOMEbody ought to check this out … for starters: Heinz foreign subsidiaries, Chrysler dealers owned by Fiat (there’s a joke in there, somewhere), or any of the European banks “bailed out” by AMERICAN payments to AIG or Goldman-Sachs!

amounts to an admission of guilt regarding the same crime or a version thereof. All we need do is take a moment to look; it borders on the axiomatic.

The name “Soros” alone should have been enough to preclude their even getting within ten feet of this particular Pandora’s box, but here we are. And one wonders how many “for the team” shots Biden will be willing to take, before he realizes the “team” is happy to treat him like a pinata.

It is completely stunning to see the Dems saddle up this horse and then beat it to death, all the while clinging to their HOPE that they will win the race.

Any remotely intelligent observer will clearly see that this strategy as pure desperation from a group of people who are completely out of their league and in way over their head. The complete and utter hypocrisy of Chicagobama & crew questioning campaign donations leaves you speechless when THEY have never fully answered where all of their money came from.

And to launch this full scale squirt gun attack against the leading advocate of small business and employers in the country, at a time when jobs and the economy are clearly the issue on the forefront of voter’s minds, seems to be the absolute worse strategy of all time.

These are the smart people who are running our country????? Good Lord, are we ever in poor hands.

These guys ran a good campaign two years ago. Since then, they’ve only run the country into the ground. What a disgrace.

Axelrod will be gone within 90 days, mark my words. Who would have thought that Gibbsy, the Pillsbury Spokesboy, would be one of the last survivors?

I believe The Gipper would have said with a sly grin, “Well, Joe, there you go again.”

Unfortunately, this current regime is tactless and tasteless. Not at all surprising, really, since their leader is a former down-and-dirty community organizer who knows nothing but how to stir up the rabble with lies and innuendoes — and his drone-like foot soldiers, like Biden, mindlessly and diligently follow suit.

America is aching for a true leader — like Reagan — who understood that the government works for the people, not the other way around.

And last time I checked, doesn’t billionaire and Democratic uber-contributor George Soros have numerous foreign corporate interests?

Although I’m aware of things the Chamber has done at the national level, I still think of it primarily as a local group. I’d guess most others do as well. When the WH attacks the Chamber they’re attacking people you know and see. It’s not a faceless entity.

In my town local businesses have Chamber decals on their door or windows. Our Chamber is actually doing something to help people find work. They partner with other state agencies and a local college to do seminars and meetings on interview and job search tips. They also hold a monthly meeting–a mini job-fair–and try to get local businesses to send HR people to talk with job searchers. The Chamber has someone on staff who coordinates this, and local businesses provide meeting space.

That’s more useful than anything local I know of that the Feds have done!

And those are the very things that the O want’s to control or destroy,..

Gutter politicks from gutter politickians… perhaps a good rule of thumb might be that if a politicker cannot keep wallowing in the gutter that politcker should be left in the gutter and not allowed to stain the hallways or chambers of our expensive marble government buildings…

He has persistently done it for 2 years. Any disagreement with his policy either directly or indirectly invites attacks. Tea party, republicans, state govt. Remember, we cling to our guns and religion.

There is no bar too low for this disgrace. And that makes him all the more dangerous. He is getting backed into a corner and his true self is showing. As more of it shows, the uglier the attacks. He can’t be told that his ideology and resulting policies are upside down. As a true narcissist, he will go down, guns blazing.
(Maybe some day we’ll pull him out of a rat hole looking a pathetic as Sadaam)

A sideline could easily be written that suggests the groups supporting the Chamber and other non-profits need anonymity else they will be threatened and retaliated against by their own Government. This is why so many business leaders have remained silent, this Administration has proven their willingness to publicly and privately go after anyone who speaks out against their agenda.

it will stick in a lot of unthinking minds.

quite a few of BFD Joe’s largest contributors thru the years have foreign offices and connections. Maybe those folks would like to completely open their books for scrutiny. Whattya think, Joe?
