The Battle is in Front of You: What are YOU going to do about it?

Get Connected. Get Engaged. Get Activated...Or Get Crushed.

At this very moment, the battle for America’s future is happening in states all around the country as newly-elected governors try to wrest control from tax-eating unions. Today’s battle is just the beginning of what America will be facing through 2012 and beyond. It is a battle that, if lost, will likely have catastrophic consequences on the fiscal well being of many of the states and, as a result, the nation as a whole.

Nowhere is the fight the loudest than in Wisconsin, where over 10,000 union supporters protested Madison’s Capitol Square on Tuesday and about 1,000 protesters demonstrated outside Governor Scott Walker’s private home Tuesday night. Hundreds of union protesters also packed Ohio’s statehouse on Tuesday to condemn Governor Kasich’s efforts to stem the union bosses’ power and reign in out of control spending. In Indiana, hundreds of Steelworkers descended on the Hoosier’ statehouse to protest unemployment reform as well. Even in New York, with a Democrat governor, unions are spending millions on fighting reform.

Make no mistake, this is a battle for America’s economic future. It is one that will ultimately decide whether Americans will be enslaved by debt created by a government beholden to public-sector union bosses, or whether some sort of fiscal sanity can be restored before the system collapses due to the weight from years of cronyism.

As labor activists strategize for “class war,” Leftist union bosses also know they may be losing their grip on taxpayers’ throats and they are desperate to keep it there. They’re not going to let go easily either. They’re organized and they have millions to spend on marches, sickouts, protests, candlelight vigils, and advertising.

So, the question becomes, what are YOU going to do about it?

The answer to that question is simple: Get Connected. Get Engaged. Then…Get Active.

Last weekend, at CPAC, Freedomworks rolled out a new tool for Americans interested in preserving their liberty to use. It’s called FreedomConnector and it is a powerful tool for getting connected, getting engaged and getting active.

Similar to a ning site, FreedomConnector is more than that. It is a platform to put activists together with other activists; groups together with other groups, as well as a way to coordinate events and activities across the country.

Freedomworks has obviously put a lot of resources into building FreedomConnector, as FreedomWorks’ Chairman Dick Armey stated in a note to activists:

…developing an online tool to outpace progressive web-giants like MoveOn.org and MyBarackObama.com was downright expensive.

While its greatest potential may be for GOTV coordination in 2012, FreedomConnector can be used today to plan meetings, and, most importantly, to engage in precinct activism now.

OFA has already begun ramping up its ground game for 2012. In order to defeat the Left-winged leviathan, Republicans, Tea Party activists, as well as independents are going to have to collaborate and coordinate their strategies precinct-by-precinct nationwide.

As Coldwarrior has been telling us for a while now, there is no better way to succeed in taking over the Republican Party and, thus, the nation, than through the Precinct Committeeman Project. It’s a very simple strategy and FreedomConnector makes it even easier.

Over the last few days, Coldwarrior, Ron Robinson (PROCINCT), and other RedStaters have set up the Precinct Action Committeeman Strategy (PACS) group on FreedomConnector. If you’ve ever wondered about precinct activism, getting onto FreedomConnector and joining the PACS group is a great way for you to learn by connecting with other activists, engaging with them and sharing your stories or utilizing their expertise to help you get involved in precinct activism. The other side’s ground game is well-organized and well-financed. Using FreedomConnector as a way of beefing up precinct activism is a “force multiplier.” It’s that simple.

The Precinct Committeeman Project is “bottom-up politics” that enables the average citizen to not just figuratively take the Party over and take the Country back, but do it literally. FreedomConnector is a great tool for facilitating those efforts.

As you watch the events unfold at the state level, sitting on the sidelines in these battles will only ensure one thing: Victory for the Left. If you are not already connected, engaged and active, sign up to FreedomConnector and join the PACS group.

Thank God for not creating yet another organization. We need to be united and present a united front.

FreedomConnector.com is the way to go. I joined and so should everyone else.

    It’s that simple.

(Great work by the Republican Party of Wisconsin.)

    Hat tip to TheRealRevo.

Can I guarantee that if conservatives flood into their local Republican committee meetings to fill up all the vacancies that we will turn the tide? Nope.

    But it can’t hurt.

Indeed, would you rather go into the 2012 primary season with a less than half-strength Party at the precinct level — both in YOUR precinct and every precinct — or with a full-strength Party?

Do you know your precinct committeeman? Or even whether there is one for your precinct? Do you know your precinct’s boundaries? Do you know when and where your local Republican Party committee meets?

Watch, if you can, the Fox News coverage of the government teacher union protests unfolding today in Madison, WI.

Are you going to let these people beat us? At the polls, that is?

The truth is we can all do something about this.

The truth is we need to unite politically.

The truth is there’s a huge power vacuum inside the Republican Party right now all across the country — over half of the precinct committeeman slots are unfilled.

The truth is a full-strength Party at the precinct level is hell of a lot better than a less than half-strength one.

The truth is the best political tool we have at our disposal, the Republican Party, is just sitting there ready to be taken over by conservatives.

The truth is the incumbent Republicans will never tell you about this because they are fearful they’ll get a primary challenger from their right.

The truth is we can all do something about it this power vacuum inside the Republican Party.

The truth is we all have to ask ourselves these questions: what can I do about it and what will I do about it?

    Thank you.

Noam Chomsky lets slip what he really wants to see in this country: an Egypt style “democracy uprising” of people in the streets bringing down their government.

For starters, Governors Walker and Kasich could emulate Reagan’s handling of the air traffic controllers union and immediately FIRE any teacher who called in sick to join the riots.
The unions need to learn what the rest of us already know — we’re broke.

    • ihateliberals

We need a lot more of that kind of emulation. It is time that the unions pulled their belts up tight and figure out that as a country right now we are BROKE.

In Wisconsin apparently the Unions don’t understand that if the Governor finlly does have to lay people off they wl lose them Union members.

      • methodius

. . .a majority of people who knew what he was going to do if elected. To borrow a line from our mouthy POTUS: “You lost.” There is a $3 Billion shortfall that must be met. Over half of our state’s bidget is for state employee salaries and benefits. Where do these folks imagine the money is gong to come from? One local teacher figures the increase in her share of her retirement and medical plan is going to cost her $6000 a year; to which I say, “Welcome to the real world.” From what I have been reading in the comments sections of many a news feed/story about this most people are behind Walker and the State Assembly.

As for Walker emulating Reagan: Send the state police after the AWOL state senators. Give the state workers until Monday to report to work or be fired. We have almost 8% unemployment in this state. We can fill their jobs rather easily.

        • nycenterright

Teachers in Wisconsin need to complete an accredited undergraduate teaching degree and pass multiple certification exams to be teachers. You can’t fire 40% of the teaching workforce and expect to fill it in the immediate future with people who will be remotely capable of doing the job competently.

          • realskinny

Concerning the miserable performance of the Socialist Schools, this is an iffy assumption. Most certification requirements are barriers to entry erected at the behest of the teacher unions. Rather than requiring evidence of proficiency in the subject to be taught, they require completion of numerous mind-numbing Education courses. Few intelligent people can endure the nonsense, Marxism and pro-homosexual drivel of which these courses consist.

I joined FreedomConnector today. Looks like a nice platform to help organize. The site is a little slow at the moment – maybe because so many of us are flooding in, now that we know about it? I am looking forward to the battle. It’s one worth having.

    • earlgrey

I hope that means lots of new activists.

today in Nashville, TN Teachers are protesting anit-union legislation. They tried to get a bunch of tea partiers to the event, but what about those of us with jobs. What do we do?

      • earlgrey

        yesterday.

Mid South Tea Party gave me the following update today

The Senate Education Committee met this morning and with a vote of 6 for and 3 against passed SB0113!
This Bill, if passed by the legislature as written will abolish teachers’ unions ability to negotiate terms and conditions of professional service with local boards of education.

  • usadying

It seemed a little slow, but that’s probably because it’s just getting started. I will check out PACS. Thanks for setting it up.

  • johnCV

then to go to union leaders homes and protest on their lawns and frighten their family and neighbors?

    Just askin’.

We were outnumbered but we were heard. We also visited the Senators’ offices to petition for support of the bill. I was confronted by an admitted drunk fireman who was very rude and aggressive before I even said anything personally to him. When one of my male companions, a veteran Marine, told him he felt like taking him outside and settling it like men used to, he responded “you could probably take me ’cause I’m so s*** faced.” Another very tall union guy with sunglasses and a black beret moved through the Tea Party crowd shouting provocative things with someone following him filming in case he got some action. We all know better but we must be careful out there. In all the discussions we had, the general drift was that the union members do not believe that the Governor and Legislators are telling the truth about the budget. We warned them that they need to be cognizant of their unions’ use of their money, especially the “donations” to the Democrat party. They shout that they want “democracy” but ignore the fact that the majority of the voters put these legislators and Governor in office to get our fiscal house in order. It was at times a scary experience being surrounded by the screaming crowd but we were able to have some very honest debate with some of those willing to have it. I’m glad we went.

Out of approximately 153 million workers in the USA only about 16 million are members of Unions. Here we are again letting a minority of people control a majority. When are we really going to wake-up and stop this carnage created by the Progressive socialist unions.? There is a reason that unions go after the unskilled labor and less educated people in this country. They know that if they go after the highly skilled professions that the people are smart enough to throw them out.

For example in the IT business we don’t need unions because the market determines how we are treated and how much we are paid. The company knows that it hs to take care of its employees because if they don’t some other company will snatch them up. The completion in the market is ll the protection that is needed..

We have to put a stop to such a minority controlling so much of our lives. In Wisconsin if the Union finlly gets its way several thousand state employees will have to be laid off. Is that what you people in Wis really want? I don’t think so.

  • bobtx

if the Tea Party folks could show up in force and have a respectful, peaceful counter rally in Wisconsin to show governor support. I’m sure their signs would be a bit more patriotic.

  • maisy

Dick Armey and FW want to continue to import poverty. I say no thanks and am suprised Red State would advocate for this group who will undermine national sovreigntry.

      http://www.freedomworks.org/publications/the-pence-plan-no-amnesty-immigration-reform

A 30-second Google search was enough to show that FreedomWorks supports immigration reform without amnesty, the position of many (if not most) conservatives. They are pro-immigration, not pro-illegal immigration, and you know it. From your bait-and-switch tactics and the content in your post, I strongly suspect you’re anti-immigration, not just anti-illegal immigration. You’re just using “illegal” as a cover to incite misplaced condemnation.

      And it’s spelled “sovereignty”.

I have been saying for years that these things are going to happen, and this is just the beginning. You cannot continue to provide “entitlements” to so many people with no way to pay for it (government workers and minority welfare mooches). The American populace has been propagandized to believe that democrats know better and that government is the cure, when in reality democrats simply buy votes with entitlement programs and use bigger government to gain more control. To show how stupid these protesters are, how do they think the state is going to continue to pay for their entitlements that they themselves paid nothing into? The gravy train is DRY! Unions, liberals, government, and mindless liberal voters (as well as half ass*ed republicans) are the problem.. You have no right to free anything in this country, everything has a cost; in other words, you are free to have heathcare, but you have to pay for it, same with education, and same with retirement – how can you even believe that you deserve it for free? Someone has to pay!. Most municipalities have 3 to 4 times the workers needed and the benefits provided are ridiculous, especially considering that they pay nothing into it. It’s time for this country to go back to the system where an individual earns his way and stops living off of the hard work of others. It is also time for retirement, healthcare, and education to be taken out of government control and provided by private sector businesses that will cut abusive spending, be able to fire useless unproductive individuals, and get rid of the inconsistent and incompetent system we have now and start elevating our standards again. Just like the BS stimulus packages that were supposed to save jobs, but were simply the government paying for these people to remain on the job til the money runs out, only postponing the inevitable. I’m waiting to see if these new governors, senators, and congressmen do the same thing to themselves – repeal their self made salaries, have to pay for their health insurance, and get rid of their exorbitant retirement packages – I doubt it! Expect it to get worse…….
