You may have noticed over these last few weeks that the protesters in Wisconsin and elsewhere seem to be well trained at trouble making. It’s almost as if they have their B.S. degrees from the University of Alinsky.
Well, as every good community organizer knows, you can’t astroturf without being properly trained in the science of trouble making and that is why you too can learn the dark science of Alinsky in Madison on April Fool’s Day [actually April 1st & 2nd].
Friday April 1, 2011, 5p.m., free Reception.
Cartoon and photo exhibit.
Guest speakers on “The State of the Unions”
Saturday, April 2, 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Workshops
$25 includes Saturday lunch, Register Now
Labor Temple, 1602 South Park St., Madison
Some of the finer points of troublemaking will include:
New and Old Organizing Strategies
Art for Mobilization
…and so much more
According to the courses offered, it sounds as though there will be much for left-wing activists (or any other activists) to learn:
The idea is not just to talk about problems for a day and then go home, but to come up with specific plans in some areas, so that we can go out Monday morning and get to work organizing to build on what we’ve done.
In fact, successful graduates will be able to easily go to some unsuspecting lawmaker’s private residence and protest to their heart’s content, like these troublemakers*…
* It is unknown whether the subjects in this clip are actual graduates from the aforementioned Troublemakers’ School, or are merely self-taught.
[Note: While the tactics of Saul Alinksy will be taught, participants are urged to bring their own copy because, for $25, there’s only so much capital to spend for socialist learning programs.]
You can register for the Madison Troublemakers School here

And that’s part of the problem isn’t it? Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES As the Republican primary season kicks into high gear, a debate is playing out among various groups as to how one effectively takes down Donald Trump. Dave Weigel writes about this, live from New Hampshire, at the Washington Post, covering an ad that Rick Wilson and I created for the anti-Trump SuperPAC, Make America Awesome. In essence, as Weigel notes, | Read More »
Share on Facebook 1 1 SHARES ‘Chris Christie is loser’ was my alternate title. Not a quote, but it is the basic message from Rush Limbaugh on his show today: Obama does know what he is doing. After a weekend of petty Republican back-stabbing, it’s about time someone showed the sense and backbone to say it. It’s a four minute clip so far too much | Read More »
