California’s Gov. Jerry Brown Plies GOP With Wine & Urges SEIU to Buy Lunch

Oh, this is funny. Well, funny, except to the few sane Californians and businesses who have not moved out yet.

The once-golden state of California has devolved so much in its budgetary talks that its recycled governor, Jerry Brown has taken to plying Republican legislators with wine and food. In a telephone town hall with SEIU and state workers, Moonbeam Governor Brown divulged his secret to negotiations:

Brown, who is seeking to extend higher tax rates on income, vehicles and sales, said the two sides “enjoyed some nice wine in my office, and the next night I took them over to my loft and we poured another couple bottles of wine.”

Brown also suggested that the SEIU should start taking Republicans to lunch more.

“If every SEIU member would take a Republican to lunch, maybe we would be in better shape,” Brown said in a telephone town hall that the union said reached thousands of employees.

Yvonne Walker, president of SEIU Local 1000, said the union’s membership is 30 percent Republican, and she told Brown, “We take a lot of Republicans to lunch.”

When Brown was asked about layoffs or furloughs, he responded with:

“Wow,” Brown said. “You know what, I hadn’t thought about that, but it’s not good.”

He said, “All I can tell you at this point is I’m not taking anything off the table, but we just have to get those tax extensions, because the alternative is not pretty.”

Dude.

If California Republicans can have their loyalties bought by wine and cheese, instead of calling them RINOs, perhaps a more apt term would be WINOs.

The only reason that the SEIU is 30% Republican is because California is not a right to work state.

If Republicans had a choice they wouldn’t join unions at that rate.

I should know. My wife was forced to join SEIU when they took over her hospital or be fired.

the labor union states are blue states. They have a death grasp on the labor pool. Pay them or no work. Remember mike quill of the twu in new york? “No cont_rr_acht no wurrr_kkh”. Well, the corruptors of the economic growth of the US rarely do much real wu_rrr_kkh and constantly bleed the companies and the state they are in for more pensions and benefits long after they have actually left wurrrr__kkkh.

Get the signatures and put your tax hikes on the ballot in the fall. Until then cut, cut, cut!

Wait-I live in the People’s Republic of Kali.

    Not so funny.

So now Brown is resorting to college tricks like getting his dates drunk to get them to do what he wants?

Unfortunately, I was born in SoCal. This kind of crap is why Obummer can’t print enough money to get me to ever live there again. I have loudly renounced any association with the place and if I could, I’d change my birth certificate.

    God bless Texas!

I have been telling myself to get out of this state for 20 years now. But, a good job, great pay, my family, and great weather always won out. Now, I have been out of work for two years, unemployment at 13%, and I am too broke to leave. But, I am out of here at the very first opportunity. I have been applying for many out of state jobs, but it seems no one wants to hire a 61 year old white male. I think I see a Wal Mart greeter position in my future.

…of the California Republicans signed “No New Taxes” pledges to get themselves elected

Now we see them negotiating with Jerry to put higher taxes on the ballot.

And what do the Traitorous Five do?

They host a thousand dollar per plate fund raising dinner to celebrate their violated pledges and eagerness to pleasure Jerry the Clown.

What difference there is between California Republicans and democrats these days?

Paul Cook is one of the Republicans who has bent over for Jerry Brown even as he is supposed to be representing me and my district.

I will be actively working to get him ousted now. Even if that means supporting a democrat in his place.

Otherwise, if I could, I’d leave California to rot in its own socialist cesspool.
