“We Are One!” — Unions and Communists Rally in Chicago

You could say that they are one now. At least, there’s no denying they’re breaking bread and sipping from the same can of alphabet soup these days under the banner of so-called “solidarity.”

Over the weekend, thousands of union workers crowded in Chicago’s Daley Plaza to show their solidarity(!) with their union comrades in Wisconsin.

According to the Chicago Sun Times:

Laborers, carpenters, electricians, machinists, sheet metal workers, police officers, firefighters, teachers, actors, writers and pharmacists from Illinois and surrounding states marched from corners of the Loop, waving pro-union banners and chanting “We are one.”

What? No mention of the Communists there to rally with their union brothers?

[via RebelPundit.com]

As the RebelPundit observed:

We have noticed an alarming message, prevalent at every single left wing protest we have attended this year in Chicago and the Midwest. While each protest has an official message of a seemingly less alarming cause, such as; Anti-War, Anti-Deportation or “We Are One” with “Union Solidarity”, there is also an extremely disturbing trend of blatant and obvious promotion of a revolutionary transformation of America into a new socialist or communist type of economic system.

[snip]

What was even more disturbing to us, was the amount of young children brought to the protest with their parents, holding signs which prominently advocate for a new alternative economic system in America, and being taught what we believe is a very “un-American” message, by the reoccurring theme these Chicago protests contain. Communist protesters at this rally even claim they are very patriotic for their advocacy to end capitalism in America.

Disturbing? Yes. However, apparently today’s trade-union members have no problem aligning themselves with Communists and their Marxist agenda. After all, they are all one now.

“We must close union offices, confiscate their money and put their leaders in prison. We must reduce workers salaries and take away their right to strike” – Adolf Hitler, May 2, 1933.
this was hitler;s feelings about unions. fastforward 78 years. who does this remind you of?
hitler was a man who wanted total control/authority. no freedom of religion/speech/assembly. the state controlled everything. when you worked, if you worked, were, how, when. state radio/tv broadcast when hitler wanted it to. nobody was allowed to oppose him. if you did, his nazi goons paid you a visit and murdered you and your entire family.
unions stand for everything hitler was against.

conservatives don’t want to abolish unions — we simply wish to prevent them from having unfair privileges and benefits that the rest of us do not have — for example, exclusive bargaining rights. Unions still exist in red states, they simply do not exercise the toxic levels of control that they do in blue states.

BTW, Hitler’s economic policy was, at its most rightist, syndicalist. The left wing of the Nazi party was socialist, and this influenced much of the economic policy of Nazi Germany. I’ll note that state unions were constituted upon the elimination of trade unions in Nazi Germany — Hitler had no ideological opposition to unions, it was simply a question of the union working for the “wrong team” (the German Communist party).

…”We simply wish to prevent them from having unfair privileges and benefits that the rest of us do not have” is pretty much the argument union supporters and communists claim they are making.

As a conservative (or a libertarian, or whatever little “label” niche applies – at heart, I think I’m probably just barely a respectable distance away from anarchist), I couldn’t care less what benefits or privileges others’ have, as long as I don’t have to pay for their “unfair” advantage.

Public sector unionization forces me to pay, and mandatory union membership in the private-sector forces me to join-and-pay if I want to get or keep a job in that workplace. Therefore, I DO want to see public unions abolished and I DO want right-to-work laws to prevail in the private sector.

Ok… I give up. There is no difference. Unions are actually how communism is spread these days. I saw a comment above that said we conservatives don’t want to get rid of Unions and I beg the differ with that. Unions in this economy will collapse it if left alone. The Unions are nothing more than the Mod being legalized.

You are quite right, Unions would all but disappear. That is not true in an emerging economy. In economies which are at the early stages of industrialization Unions often can gain a large following, and actually do some good for their members. But that all changes as the economy matures.

Unions have no place in the public sector, that is a horrible event which we allowed and will have to be reversed some day.

If you look at the Communist Party USA’s Program, you’d be hard-pressed to find many differences vs the Democratic platform or vs any action Obama takes.

“Workers of the world unite!” doesn’t it? Does it also seem ironic that this love affair between these union members and communists is being held in Chicago? Wait a minute, Chicago? Community organizer? Socialist? Acorn? Obama? Is there a pattern here? Maybe this is really a kick off for his 2012 campaign. I mean he’s got his biggest fans together here!

a leopard never changes his spots. funny how the left is ramping up their rhetoric and uncivil tone while the campaigner-in-chief sits idly by. rome is burning and nero is fiddling away.

part is, IF they would win, unions are the first thing to go along with freedom of speech and press. Of course if they already own the press, no problem there.

to us, was the amount of young children brought to the protest with their parents”.
This speaks to the fact that it now takes 15 years to achieve a 12th grade education. These children are on the same, or ahead of, their parents mental level.

makes more sense than most leftists Iv’e listened to lately…

Most union people don’t know there are communist and socialist elements in unions who influence their thoughts. If someone sat these people down and explained what communism and socialism are and asked them to calm down and debate like adults and realize and admit they are draining state resources then perhaps unions would be respected again as they purged the rabble rousing scum.

If they had a clue and cared then all union employees would not want their dues going towards election campaigns or at a minimum union employees could opt out in all states and their funds could not be used for elections. A second choice would be that union members could choose the party and candidate of their choice. Forced choice is no choice considering we live in a free and democratic society. Union members don’t get it because the media refuse to explain why their rights are being violated by union bosses and the Democratic party.

many union workers just want to get their sweet deals that they are entitled too because the man keeps them down.

I get this everyday from local firemen and trade workers. I know teachers that just show up to teach just for the pension they are guaranteed and know they cannot be fired if they just show up. Many teachers are good teachers but many are also just showing up to get a pension guranteed by the State. Many do not buy into the fact that the unions are draining anything. They choose to believe this and do not want to listen to anyone who tells them otherwise.

I just post the Communist Party USA website:

“The Working Class and Trade Union Movement”

“Workers always seek to solve the chronic ills they face. Whether individual workers are conscious of it yet or not, the ultimate outcome of this struggle is socialism.”

      http://www.cpusa.org/party-program/

and they NEVER post a reply or comment on it.

Here is the page that links the Communist to the WI protests:

      http://cpusa.org/april-16-ustream-broadcast-from-wisconsin-to-washington-stand-up-for-jobs-workers-rights-and-peace/

Unfortunately there are many people that post here on RS that still think there is no link to Obama and this Communist movement. The road starts with George Soros.
