Union-Bought Democrat Calls For End Of Congressional Probe Into Obama’s NLRB

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D) is from Maryland. He doesn’t like the fact that Lindsay Graham (R) from South Carolina is fighting the union appointees at the National Labor Relations Board and their attempt to shut down Boeing’s new 787 assembly line in Graham’s own state.

As a result, Cummings is accusing Boeing of unduly influencing Graham and is demanding that Congress step aside for the NLRB.

In a letter Wednesday to Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), chairman of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, Cummings said new documents released by the labor board show the agency came under undue pressure from Boeing and lawmakers before it filed its controversial complaint against the aerospace giant this year.

Consequently, the NLRB’s “ongoing legal proceeding should be allowed to take its full course without any further interference from members of Congress,” according to Cummings, the committee’s ranking member.

“These new documents, which the committee has now obtained, raise troubling new questions about whether Boeing inappropriately sought to use its political influence in Congress to prevent the NLRB from filing its enforcement action against the company,” Cummings wrote.

The documents in question are notes taken by Lafe Solomon, the NLRB’s acting general counsel, and other agency lawyers describing phone calls from Boeing’s attorneys and Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) before the NLRB issued its complaint against the company on April 20. Graham told Solomon he would go after the agency “full guns a-blazing” if the NLRB issued its complaint against Boeing for allegedly retaliating against union workers, according to Solomon’s notes.

So, Rep. Elijah Cummins from Maryland believes a lawmaker from South Carolina should shut up when a union-controlled agency is about to threaten up to 5,000 South Carolina jobs?

Um, Rep. Cummings…Since it’s not Maryland jobs that are at stake here, who’s influencing you?

Oh. Never mind.

Another congress critter corrupted by the unions. Is there a critter from the CBC that is not a Marxist and or corrupt. Known come to mind.

Most members of the Congressional Black Caucus are also members of the Congressional Progressive Caucus.

There are a few exceptions, the most notable being Allen West.

he was corrupted by his radical leftist ideology. The fact that he takes all that union money is a testament to his hyprocrisy, but this is the same guy who said he and his fellows were spat at by TEA party people, when really they were doing the proverbial spitting.

It’s a shame, but someday, when the history books are written about people like this, instead of praising their civil rights work, they’ll be castigated for destroying the black family by increasing the intervention of government into American family life, and for marginalizing black men in the lives of their children.

the way history is written these days (eliminating the Holocaust), the blacks will be put on a pedestal for electing the first black president, the savior of our nation.

(the last part of the sentence is sarcasm–noted because some may not get it, such as the trolls)

but as expected the gop will press on. The congressman should be asked what he plans to do if Boeing moves the jobs overseas because they can’t afford union labor. Labor isn’t the only issue but clearly dems are desperate for union campaign money.

I mean that many jobs in one state will not make a difference at all will it? It won’t feed, clothe, or get them off of unemployment, food stamps or buy goods and pay higher taxes at all. Okay, just being sarcastic. Isn’t this guy just cutting off a lot of people’s noses just to be a union lackey? I think I will stay with Will rogers; “We have the best politicians money can buy.” At least he sold his soul for cheap.

Cummings has been a mind numbed Obamabot from the start.

He has endorsed everything (both legal and illegal) that Obama has initiated and is demonstrably willing to toss low wage workers under the bus to support the unions, even if the unions are (as in this case) going to cause Boeing to actually eliminate jobs.

  • ag8tor

Only 16 of the 20 groups on the list are unions. Do you think he would be demanding this if Boeing had decided to open a plant in MD? So the concept is “Screw Congress and the Constitution, this is about the unions”. Another typical socialist/communist that hasn’t read the manifesto. History repeating itself!

who elected this moron must be as stupid as he is.Let me just say to Mr.Cummings—-up your’s BOZO——-I am a South Carolina resident and take great exception to the NLRB’s overstepping vendetta against Boeing and the people of S.C.We’re a right to work state and damn proud of it!!!!

The sovereign state of South Carolina was invaded by the United States in 1865. The ratification of the Federal government was done by illegally elected legislators.

It’s time for South Carolina to reassert its sovereign rights and secede.

anywhere they want and the current “government” needs to butt out!!! It’s easy to see Cummings is bought and paid for by the unions so of course he’s shooting off his mouth at the expense of his constituents. People need jobs and he doesn’t care, as long as the unions keep giving him money. This loser should be sent packing next election!!!
