Soros: “I am not here to cheer you up…”

Consider this an open thread.

Most people know the name George Soros, the mastermind behind…well, a lot of stuff.

This comes via the Daily Beast.

Sitting in his 33rd-floor corner office high above Seventh Avenue in New York, preparing for his trip to Davos, he is more concerned with surviving than staying rich. “At times like these, survival is the most important thing,” he says, peering through his owlish glasses and brushing wisps of gray hair off his forehead. He doesn’t just mean it’s time to protect your assets. He means it’s time to stave off disaster. As he sees it, the world faces one of the most dangerous periods of modern history—a period of “evil.” Europe is confronting a descent into chaos and conflict. In America he predicts riots on the streets that will lead to a brutal clampdown that will dramatically curtail civil liberties. The global economic system could even collapse altogether.

“I am not here to cheer you up. The situation is about as serious and difficult as I’ve experienced in my career,” Soros tells Newsweek. “We are facing an extremely difficult time, comparable in many ways to the 1930s, the Great Depression. We are facing now a general retrenchment in the developed world, which threatens to put us in a decade of more stagnation, or worse. The best-case scenario is a deflationary environment. The worst-case scenario is a collapse of the financial system.” [Emphasis added]

US Debt: $15.2 Trillion (and rising)

Unfunded liabilities: $117 Trillion (and rising)

Liability per taxpayer: $1,038,838 (and rising)

Bankruptcy: Not if, but when?

Reminder: President Obama’s State of the Union Address starts at 9 pm EST. He is expected to make his re-election pitch in order to “finish the job.”

… George Soros will have had a hand in causing it. And if there is violence, Soros will have had a hand in causing it.

He has been not only undermining the United States elections the past 10 years with all his radical left groups that HE created and funds. He has been undermining our economic system. He is Obama’s and the radical Left’s puppet-master. He, like Obama, see’s the need to completely destroy America’s economic system (and with the given collapse of the European system), they then can create a one-world system which is socialism. He has been making billions selling America short. For all intents and purposes he is an economic terrorist. He is much more dangerous than Osama Bin Laden ever was or would be. We need to win the Senate just so we can investigate him and his actions.

He just realized that the psychos he’s been funding are ANTI 2nd amendment, a little detail that Dr. Evil overlooked while planning to take advantage of the violence and bloodshed. Now all he can see are pictures of what happened to Mussolini and his mistress, and he can’t get it out of his head.

And since when does he give a crap about civil liberties?

I’m going to have to pray. A lot. Because my first impulse will be to throw a massive block party and spend $1000 on BBQ and Beer.

    * from natural causes, big sis. Keep your filthy, dung-laden NDAA hands off me, pigs.

The world will be a better place once a few select evil power mongers GO!

the world would be a much better place.

From my fingers to God’s eyes.

The sooner we elect Emperor Newt, the better. We can arrest the judges who disagree with us, shut down the press who challenge us, and impose law and order for once. Go Newt! www.emperornewt.org.

    • Charles Cianfrocca

You can ALWAYS tell what the left has in mind to do by what they falsely accuse you of wanting to do. Every time.

      It just NEVER fails.

      • swi2522

point the finger at someone to detract from your intentions

    • tailfins1959

Don’t cut and paste leftie hyperbole! At least show that you put thought into your post and make it your own words. People will mistake your laziness with you being a dullard.

      • Charles Cianfrocca

Because *everyone* knows, when judges are intimidated (Wisconsin), news outlets harrassed (hello media matters), and laws imposed against the will of the people (Obamacare), it will be the right that does it…

You just have to wonder who this guy thinks he’s fooling, anyway. I can never quite get my mind around how the ‘accuse them of what you’re doing’ strategy is supposed to work.

It’s like they think we’ll respond “yeah, that’d be AWFUL, we’d beter vote lefty” without even noticing that the mentioned awful things are what the left and only the left have been doing, all along.

        • thosjefferson

Those crazy people in Wisconsin held a previously scheduled election for a state supreme court justice, of all things! Far better to just arrest the ones you don’t like, as EmperorNewt promises.

I’m only agreeing with the people of South Carolina that we need to elect Newt to put an end to this democratic nonsense once and for all. We’d be much better off with Newt deciding what constitutes “good” capitalism, Newt rewriting history so it conforms to our views, and Newt exemplifying personal and public morals for the country to admire and emulate.

So I agree with the other RedStaters.

          Go Newt!

          • tngal

            There’s a word…oh, darn it what’s the word i’m looking for? It’ll come to me. Anyway —
DailyCaller has up a story on Rep. Emanueal Cleaver who is the chairman of the Congressional Black Caucus . Basically they’re talking about the high unemployment in the black sector. So why doesn’t the CBC put Obamas feet to the fire on this issue?

            ____________

          • tngal

(It went up before I wanted it to) Nonetheless its an odd, odd story. Nothing too subtle about it, that’s for sure.

          • Charles Cianfrocca

Worst attempt at reverse psychology I’ve seen in at least 50 years. I couldn’t find a single premise in there, much less a conclusion, that held a drop of water. Aside from the clanging ring of the fanatic, just try to find a single word in there that rings true. …And to think his presumed goal is to actually convince.

Carry on. I can’t see that you’ll be able to do any harm with a pitch like that, fella…

  • Kyle-MI

Nothing is going to get done in Washington (and that is not necessarily a bad thing). Everyone is waiting on what the voters decide in Nov. The Dems and the GOP have two different views of what the federal government should be doing. There is simply no room for compromise. There is no compromise between reducing spending and increasing it. In November the voters need to decide who to put fully in charge of the government. They need to either fully give the GOP control (House, Senate, and President) or return full control to the Dems (We all know how that worked the last time).

This year will be about politics. Everything else will have to wait. There will be no pushing anyone’s agenda through. It is simply time to bide our time and score political points. And in the long term view, any legislative victory will be meaningless anyway. If we gain full control, we can pass what we want without loading down bills with Dem amendments. If the Dems gain control, they will flip all of our victories anyway.

    • skorrent1

But the House GOP could, if they would, help define the election in November by passing necessary reforms (Keystone, EPA, Obamacare, NLRB, F&F…) so that the (alternative) media can keep the pressure on the “do-nothing Senate and Administration”.

      • Kyle-MI

Exactly right, skorrent1. The GOP House should line up a number of bills to emphasize the extreme nature of the Obama presidency. I doubt that Reid would let any of them even be brought up for discussion in the Senate, but that is his problem not ours.

        • johnt

Old habits die hard eh George.
Interesting how the left kicks around the word Nazi & ignores their own. Like everything else in a psychotic mind chaos rules and principle is destroyed. They have no problem with this particular Nazi.
Take this beast seriously, he may know things about 2012 that are unpleasant to say the least, and may have made a mistake saying what he did. Overconfidence, a too happy anticipation?

          • tailfins1959

Tell me who has said these things:

Be of good cheer! Let not your heart be troubled! My success is NOT determined by who wins elections. If there is a recession, refuse to participate. I want to teach the poor how to access opportunity. If there’s no job where you are, MOVE!

            **************************************************************************
Notice that none of these things are ideological. I will support public figures that say things similar to the above.

          • Finrod

Unfortunately all I have for this is a crummy video, but that will have to do:

And have noticed the term “divided government” is a favorite of the left, as well as fake centrist and No Labels types to create sympathy for Obama and hatred for Obama. The term is a fake because we’re supposed to have a very, very divided government so we don’t become Cuba. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s divided nearly enough right now. The Senate, the White House, and the media are all on the left. The House has been R for about a year but it seems Boehner is dying to get it back to being D–that’s what he’s used to. Obama has made clear he will pass whatever he wants via regulation so congress doesn’t matter anyway. When I hear a Supreme Court decision was 5-4 it doesn’t make me think they’ll never get anything done at the Court. That’s my reasoning for putting the phrase ‘divided government’ on the back burner for awhile. Just an idea.

      • Kyle-MI

The left was crooning positively for divided government when W was president.

I am worried, however, that we have gone so far left (and put ourselves so far into debt), that we need a united conservative control of the government just to get this country back on track.

Remember, all liberals are peaceful and children of flower power, like the OWS. Simply put, we can abuse them all we want and they won’t violently respond. Right? Am I right?

since he was a party to the decline of civilization during the last World War. I for one, have faith in America and in Americans. I do not believe that America and Americans will be a party to such degeneration because our society is built upon freedoms and rights enacted to stave off EXACLTY what he is predicting. Not to mention the fact that the U.S. military is several orders of magnitude above and beyond the levels of reliability, honor and trustworthiness of any other military in the world.

No my friends, I think Soros sees what the Europe is beginning to realize: that socialism/communism is unsustainable. The U.S. was his last, best hope and now it is beginning to turn; the democrats and RINOs are being rejected and the conservative tide is coming in. He sees what his OWS movement, his union lackeys, and his liberal/socialist/communist minions are trying to bring about and he KNOWS that in every revolution the revolutionists end up cannibalizing their own.

Soros is a parasite, and an enabler of the useful idiots that can be used and manipulated to further his own wealth and political power. When Holder and Captain Zero fall, he will be in a world of hurt or in an a municipality like Davos, Switzerland where there is no extradition.

    • doncorleone

Soros the survivalist? It’s like the devil fearing Revelations. Most title characters and authors don’t fear their own stories, and he’s wagered on the very outcomes he’s help create. Just ask the french, russians, england, and now us. The only thing I ask is, for the state-run “yellow journalists” to finally find the testicular fortitude to find out how much anti-christ jr. paid in taxes on his investment income, before he retires to his bunker.

      • Raven

That Glenn Beck has been saying exactly the same thing for 3 years and been called a kook and conspiracy-theorist for his troubles?

        • raginpatriot

Great point. That Soros — the star of David Horowitz’s book “Shadow Party” — is starting to speak this way publicly makes me fear that whatever is the grand plan, the final elements are about to unfold.

Methinks that the Occutardpallooza of 2011 was the mere rehearsal for 2012 and its simultaneous Euro collapse, Arab Spring the Sequel, and U.S. election.
