No Compromise!

On Tuesday November 2nd, 2010, the American people spoke. They said clearly that they do not approve of this administration’s policies and that they feel we are heading in the wrong direction. They are not interested in a 90 or 120 degree turn from administrative policies. They want a complete180. In the last two years the Obama administration has repeatedly ignored the peoples will in passing Obamacare, in suing Arizona over enforcing its own boarder security when the Federal government refused to act, in passing further unsuccessful stimulus measures, in taking over auto companies and other industries, handing over power to the unions for political gain and passing overwhelming reform packages which are freezing the business sector. The only voice the people seem to have in this administration is their vote…and they expressed it very clearly November 2nd.

Now this administration says it wants to compromise? Suddenly now Obama will actually listen to the American people? How naïve does he think we are? The fact is, if the Republican Congress negotiates to any degree, they will suddenly become accessories to these programs. When ill conceived programs such as any stimulus spending, Cap and Tax, Vat Tax etc. ultimately fail, which they undoubtedly will do, the Democrats would then be able to shift at least some of the blame to the Republicans. The time for Bush-style compromise is over. The time for lame objections is done. Republican leaders must be true to the will of the people.

One reason the Republicans were so successful this election season is the public outcry and activation of the Tea Party and Independents who joined the chorus rejecting Democrat initiatives. The Republican leadership therefore has no right to support these initiatives to any degree. If they truly represent the people who elected them, they will simply cross their arms and wait for Democrats to come to them. They must remember that the same voters who put them in office this year can vote them out again in two years. This election ought to say to the Democrats and their President, ‘you better turn around and start heading in the opposite direction,,,, or else.’

The administration and general media have underestimated this movement of the electorate from the beginning. Nancy Pelosi called it an “Astroturf” movement instead of recognizing it as a true “grassroots” phenomenon. In just 18 months, the Tea Party grew to 2,400 centers in the U.S. and counting. Pelosi and company said it was the result of some rich Republican financing. In reality, it has no central leadership, but rather many local leaders, thus proving its true grassroots origin. It has survived the unjust labels of racism and thuggery coming from the actual perpetrators of such devices on the Left. The mainstream media has falsely interpreted the numbers attending rallies during the summer of 1010 reporting the attendance as under 100,000 when photographs clearly show numbers closer to 500,000 or more. In spite of skepticism from a biased media, the people’s movement erupted to graphically prove itself November 2nd when it kicked out over 60 Democrats from Congress.

Now President Obama wants to finally recognize Republicans as he promised he would do two years ago? Perhaps he will also finally make good on his promise to televise bills before they are passed. Maybe he will finally invite Republicans to phony dog and pony job-creating seminars at the White House.I’m sorry, Mr. President, but I say the time for compromise is over. Compromise is something you promised to do in your first two years in office. Since you failed to live up to that promise, you do not deserve a default second chance. You have provenyou are not the President of the people as you said you were when you campaigned. Therefore you do not get the automatic benefit of immediate forgiveness.Mr. Obama, the ball is in your court. It is time for you to respect the will of the people.
