In this episode of Brian Stelter 1.0 Desperately Trying to Be Brian Stelter 2.0…

Pretend, just for a minute, that you’re CNN host Brian Stelter. Yeah, I know — me neither. But just for a minute. Anyway, not all that long ago you (Stelter) were sailing along in your own little delusional world, on equally-delusional Planet CNN, when just like that (you thought), things around you began to change.

Stelter’s pal Chris Cuomo was fired in December 2021, after several ethical scandals, ranging from his ridiculous on-air bantering with his brother, Andrew Cuomo, then-governor of New York, and even worse, his desperate attempts to help his bro navigate through sexual harassment and assault allegations, over which Cuomo the Elder ultimately resigned from office. Next up, CNN honcho Jeff Zucker resigned in disgrace in February following revelations of an inappropriate workplace relationship.

As CNN’s ratings continued to swirl down the toilet faster than Joe Biden’s mental acuity, Zucker’s replacement, Chris Licht, hopped aboard The Most Trusted Name in News™ train in late February, vowing to “dial down the prime-time partisanship and double down on the network’s news-gathering muscle.”

Was the writing finally on the wall for Brian Stelter? Did Mr. Potato Head finally decide it was time to try to save his rear end?

I dunno about that, but I do know Stelter has been making some very un-Stelterish observations of late.

As reported by Fox News on Monday, Stelter has apparently experienced a miraculous epiphany about the severity of the Hunter Biden scandal, initially dismissed by the sock-puppet liberal media as “a right-wing media” concoction. The same scandal, by the way, that California Democrat Rep. Adam “Russia! Russia! Russia!” Schiff sneeringly dismissed as “Russian disinformation” (which Stelter eagerly bought at the time) hook, line, and lying sinker.

During a segment on CNN’s “Reliable Sources” on Sunday, Stelter discussed a Joe Biden 2024 run, and the potential impact Hunter Biden under federal investigation might have on his old man’s chances, with guest Michael LaRosa (“Dr.” Jill Biden’s former press secretary), no doubt leading LaRosa to wonder, “Who are you and what did you do with Brian Stelter?”

What about his son? What about Hunter? Hunter under federal investigation, charges can be coming at any time, this is not just a right-wing media story. This is a real problem for the Bidens. Could [Joe] decide not to run for reelection given his son?

LaRosa responded with a non-answer answer: “Look, they make decisions as a family and they will make that decision when it’s time,” he said, again no doubt thinking, “Brian — what the hell?”

“Do you think they’ve talked about it yet?”, Stelter persisted. “No,” replied LaRosa: “The president’s doing his job, he’s doing his work. He’s not focused on that.”

Memo to Michael LaRosa: Not only is Biden not doing his job — spectacularly so — he doesn’t even know what his job is, much less is he focused on it.

The bottom line:

As we reported in early July, a growing number of Democrat lawmakers are openly distancing themselves from Joe Biden, while reports continue to surface of a behind-the-scenes plan to dump the most inept president in history — well ahead of the 2024 election, if not prior to the November midterms. While Biden’s recent “wins” might save him through the midterms, make no mistake: the Democrat Party is terrified by the prospect of Biden seeking re-election.

Dutifully, a growing number of liberal media outlets and their respective on-air “talent” have openly begun to throw Biden under the bus, as well. But Brian Stelter? Brian Stelter? 

I don’t know if pigs have flown or Hell has frozen over, but I do know the once-predictable CNN songbird is singing a different tune these days. Ain’t that something?
