Kerry Plans to Leave Post as Climate Czar, Help Biden's Plummeting 2024 Campaign—And It's Pure Lunacy

Anyone who knows much about "Climate Czar" John Kerry knows that this guy travels to the beat of his own drum. This means that Kerry is often out of touch with reality, and just downright bizarre. This article is about one of those times — and then some.

Kerry will reportedly leave the Biden administration later this winter to hit the 2024 campaign trail for the embattled president, according to two administration sources on Saturday. No, really.

One of the sources said Kerry informed his staff on Saturday about his decision after speaking with Biden on Wednesday. The source said the administration hasn't made a decision about who might be selected to replace America's first U.S. Special Presidential Envoy for Climate — a title as ostentatious as Kerry himself.

Kerry reportedly thinks Biden's reelection will be the "single biggest" difference in 2024 "for climate progress at home and globally." (See what I mean about being out of touch with reality?) Read on, below, for the pure lunacy of the details.

According to a scoop by Axios:

Kerry — former Secretary of State and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, and the Democratic nominee for president in 2004 — plans to help tell the climate story in the context of Biden's campaign.

Kerry is working with White House Chief of Staff Jeff Zients on transitioning out of government in the coming months (before spring).

Kerry met with Biden in the Oval Office on Wednesday to catch up after last month's historic COP28 climate summit in Dubai.

In the conversation, Kerry emphasized his gratitude for the assignment, his belief that Biden has amassed a trailblazing climate record at home and globally, and his excitement about the difference renewed U.S. leadership has made globally over the past three years, the source said.

Just one problem.

Climate change remains a low priority for many Americans, and a subset of the public rejects that it’s happening at all.

Pew Research Center conducted in-depth interviews with 32 U.S. adults who hold this view, including some who do not believe there’s evidence that the Earth is warming.

The interviews revealed that language describing climate change as a crisis and an urgent threat was met with suspicion by many participants.

The disconnect between crisis rhetoric and the participants’ own beliefs and experiences drove doubt about the motivations of the people making these claims, sowing suspicion and deeper mistrust.

Yet, here's John Kerry — about to launch a  personal quest to save embattled Biden's dumpster fire of a presidential campaign — by highlighting Joe's "existential threat to mankind" scare tactics. Good luck with that, John.

But is it any wonder? Jet-setting Kerry told Reuters in a December 2023 interview that he hadn't yet made up his mind about his future, but he said that no matter what, he would not take his eyes off climate advocacy. He said:

I will continue as long as God gives me the breath and work on it one way or the other.

Welp, it appears that the 80-year-old climate advocate's first way will be to help pull Joe Biden's struggling campaign out of the dumpster fire.
