Serious question: Is Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas delusional? 

Here's another: Does Joe Biden's border chief — make that the architect of Biden's intentional border crisis — honestly believe the bilge he spews in defense of his job?

The answer to both questions is "Of course not." 

What Mayorkas is, is a smug serial fabulist who continues — without conscience — to concoct tale after tale, hoping that a sufficient number of rank-and-file Democrat voters will continue to buy his lies about the Biden administration's importation of illegal aliens to carry Biden to victory in November.

In a wide-reaching interview with The New York Times, Mayorkas revealed his latest concoction, insisting that the U.S. needs more illegal aliens, not fewer. "Wouldn't it be more orderly?" he smugly asked (emphasis mine). 

Wouldn’t it be more orderly, and wouldn’t it be responsible governance to be able to deliver a lawful pathway to fill what we have, which is a labor need, and cut the exploitative smugglers out and give individuals a path to arrive lawfully, safely, in an orderly way, to perform labor that we need? 

They can send remittances home. They can return home when their work is done. Isn’t that an element of a workable immigration system?

"They can return home when their work is done." Uh-huh. What's the over/under on that buffoonish statement?

When asked to comment on House Republican efforts to impeach him "for high crimes and misdemeanors, saying that you’ve not secured the border and that you’ve lied about it," Mayorkas called the charges "baseless."

I think it is baseless. I think it’s a political process, and I am not engaged in politics. I’m engaged in the work of the Department of Homeland Security.

That's laugh-out-loud hilarious. Of course, Mayorkas is engaged in politics — up to his delusional eyeballs. More accurately, the DHS head is consumed with doing the political bidding of the Democrat Party. That bidding singularly consists of importing as many illegal aliens into this country as he can get away with for as long as he can get away with it. So how's he doing?

As I reported on January 27, the illegal alien border surge set a new record in December. A staggering 371,036 illegals were caught entering the country, breaking the previous record of 341,392 set in August 2023. Encounters along the Southwest border also set a new record, hitting 302,034, per other data released by Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) on Jan. 26. 

All told, since Biden entered office, according to a recent report from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), the administration has willingly allowed 6.2 million illegal aliens to enter the country. Toss in "gotaways," and some estimates push the estimate to nine million or more.

Yet, here we have Alejandro Mayorkas, brazenly insisting that the more illegals we allow into the country, the better off we'll be. Politics: Democrat style.
