FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Meet Todd Young (R CAND, IN-09).

Todd just won the GOP primary in Indiana’s 9th District, beating out early frontrunner Mike Sodrel. He’s facing Baron Hill, who of course is best known for thinking that his first name is also his title. Cook rated this race as Toss-Up: interestingly, total GOP participation exceeded total Democratic participation in the primary, which was contested on both sides.

Todd’s site is here.

I grew up in this district. In fact, I could have hit Baron Hill’s house with a 3 iron from my parents front yard. I still have a lot of friends and family in Seymour, and most of them are pretty excited about Mr. Young. I wish him the best.

P.S. I am really enjoying your candidate interviews. They are quickly becoming my favorite part of Red State.

Sodrel wasn’t bad, but he and Hill had already run against each other the last 5-6 cycles, time for new blood.

    So, why didn’t you?

I know I was shocked when Sodrel (whom I supported) placed third in this race. I think the previous poster is correct the “Bloody 9th” just needed some new blood to run against Hill. Sodrel was batting .250 against Baron Hill. I plan on supporting Young financially and with several hours of my time this summer and fall.

It is hard when your candidate doesn’t win the primary, but it is vitally important that we support the R candidate we get.

He needs our help though to compete financially with Hill

I am glad he is the nominee as stated he is fresh, young, energetic, and has nice image
