    He’s mentioned doing something about it in at least a couple of speeches. What more do you want? You can’t expect him to follow up his pretty words with actual actions… that would be racist of you.

    I bet myself that I could write a post on May 8, 2009 asking whether the President was going to do anything about DADT, load it for May 8, 2010 – and when it finally published a year later, the status of DADT would not have changed in that interval. And, hey! – I won that bet.

    The fact that the stock market obligingly went down the tubes in the last two days was the sheerest accident. That bit was originally put in there because the market was a big deal back in May 2009, and I wanted to establish that I had really had loaded this sucker up in the queue then.

    On an entirely related note, just imagine how much fun the 2012 election will be pointing out Obama’s campaign lies.

    I read the first 20 comments on the letter, and they were all for repealing DADT. So is that what you want? Would you be happy if it had been repealed? I still don’t get the post. I guess it’s all about Obama fulfilling his campaign promises, but I’m very glad he wasn’t successful on this one. As far as the stock market, Obama already stated that he didn’t “govern” by the stock market. That may come back to haunt him. He is still counting on “time” to bring the economy back so that he won’t be held responsible for anything. “It’s the economy stupid” What concerns me is that it will get a little bump up and coupled w/ the stimulus funds kicking in around election time, the Dems will get re-elected.

    He wrote the freakin’ letter, didn’t he? He’s a busy man. There are responsibilities to be avoided, party menus to plan, businessmen to excoriate – which leaves precious little time for golf, FYI.

    Oh, you expected him to “DO” something about it in the sense of “acting,” did you? Take a number, the line forms right over there, in front of the bus.

    appointing communists as czars
    campaigning for losing candidates
    chipping away at our aerospace program
    practicing his bowing tecnique
    sidestepping the press
    expanding programs ensuring total dependancy by everyone in the future.

    If these darn oil spills, floods, mine explosions, terrorist bombers would just back off awhile the man could get even more of this serious work done.
