The primary for Alabama is Tuesday, so we checked in with Rick Barber to find out the state of the race:
I also asked Rick (like Hot Air Greenroom’s Laura Curtis) why Alabama’s commercials have been so memorable this cycle. Listen for the answer, of course.
Rick’s site is here.

Barber has a good shot
WarEagle01 (Diary) Sunday, May 30th at 10:00PM EDT (link)and I think he will probably face Roby in the run-off. However, he has a couple things working against him. For one, he’s an outsider from Texas. Maybe not a huge deal, although Alabama native Martha Roby will certainly hammer him on that, as will Bobby Bright in the general. Also, I’m not sure he quite understands just how conservative the GOP base is down here. I mean, it’s really conservative. So it doesn’t help cause when he posts pictures on his business’s facebook page that his opposition can use in videos like this one.
“A wise, doughy leg with rich tingly experiences will always reach better conclusions than will a more tanned, muscular leg that hasn’t felt those thrills.” –Chris Matthews’ Leg
“The alternative to the awful extremity of abortion is the indispensable joy of introducing this flawed world to someone who might make it better.”–John Hayward (AKA Dr. Zero)
Roby is a little better
redtillimdead (Diary) Monday, May 31st at 12:12AM EDT (link)Yeah, I know I will be raked over the coals for that. She has been in the race against Bobby Bright for a year. Bright is popular and it will take someone who has spent a long time laying the groundwork to beat him. Roby has a stronger campaign organization and the money to beat a popular congressman.
Nancy Pelosi can kiss my asstroturf.
