Paul McCartney thinks President Bush doesn’t know what a library is*.

(Via Instapundit ) Oddly enough, to find a proper response to this particular absurd exercise in Bush-bashing one need go no further than Doonesbury’s Garry Trudeau (in, admittedly, another set of circumstances completely).  If I remember properly, it went like this:

I forget.  Was he the cute mop head?

He’s certainly not the bright one…

*Really, don’t try justifying this one.  Laura Bush was a librarian, for goodness’ sakes.

No one really cares what he thinks anyway.

I love the Beatles and especially McCartney. But what did he gain by taking this cheap shot? The tittering, progressive class will giggle at his wit. The rest of us roll our eyes at the tired attempt at humor.

Bush had more wisdom and common sense than this Harvard lecturer, who is currently playing President, will ever have.

  • wolfster38

His last wife loved his money more then him. Who listens to a fool like McCartney. Now I really understand why Lennon hated him. Hey McCartney, how much did Obama pay you to say that? Now, get the hell out of my country! Moron! Your no longer welcomed here. Go back to the USSR commie.

  • The_Gadfly

It’s the room in his house that he walks into to shelve the 51st book he just finished reading this year.

It’s also one of those places where whiny people (excluding his wife) who think he can’t read work.

  • The_Gadfly

attempting to play at being president. If he was even playing at being President, it would bring his game up 2 full levels.

  • earlgrey

This should not have happened at the White House. I really believe the office of the President should be respected more than this. Even after/if we ever get rid of the smartest man alive.

  • Tbone

    Money can’t buy class.

  • skat

but I would be upset with anyone, especially a dumb foreigner, saying something disrespectful of Obama in the White House. If Paul wants to make a stupid comment at his concert, proving he is a total idiot, fine. Americans should demand respect for the office of US President of any guest in the White House, although Obama certainly doesn’t deserve respect.
Obama encourages trashing of fellow Americans by foreigners, AZ by Mexican president, etc because Obama has no respect for America or Americans. At least, that is the impression Obama gives.

and I’ll bet that Sir Paul ‘burned one’ before he made his pseudo-hip, unfunny remark. It was just the kind of statement that a stoner would think is really killer.

BTW, I’ve got a cute sister you might want to marry, slush head

    lol

  • Right_Again

he seems to be playing a lot. Heaven knows he’s made a mess of the playroom. And we’ve recently witnessed his tantrum now that it’s cleanup time.

There isn’t enough Lysol in the world to disinfect it after this admin is done defecating and urinating in it.

Guess what old doper would play the part of the brain on drugs.

What an idiot-Laura Bush is a librarian, isn’t she?

But then McCartney probably inhaled a bit to much before opening mouth and inserting foot.

Keep bashing Bush while the O can’t manage the job…

    Wait a second…

Please keep bashing Bush while the O screws up! We wouldn’t want to forget the difference between left and right you know…

Your most recent comments at the White House have likened you more to the insect called a “beetle”.

So why don’t you go find yourself another ELEANOR RIGBY
Take a long vacation on PENNY LANE
As politics aren’t for you think about being a PAPERBACK WRITER
and finally, GET BACK TO WHERE YOU ONCE BELONGED!

  • pirate55

Sorry Mr. McCartney you being Knighted and all

  • throwback59

President Calderon speaks before Congress and attacks a state. Now the pot head McCartney attacks a former President while in the White House. Did this ever happen before? I don’t think so. Prominent foreigners would never come to our capitol and verbally abuse us. They wouldn’t dare.
Now they just take the lead of our current commander -in-chief. After all, what has Obama been doing lately? Attacking Arizona and blaming Bush.
This foreign trash wouldn’t dream of critizing us in our own capitol if we had a President who at least liked this country.

Even when history clearly says otherwise. They’re just not showing the *right* history, eh? Cesar Chavez never beat up on other Mexicans, right? Che Guevera was a kind and gentle person, right?

Even when science says otherwise. They’re using the *wrong* science, eh? Anyone else remember that Soviet alternative-biology they were pushing back in the .. ’60s? Couldn’t teach real biology since it said their farming policies were crap….

If Libs can’t convince themselves they’re the smart ones, that everyone else are stupid, the whole ego-driven house of cards comes crashing down.

“Maybe I’m Amazed” is probably my all time favorite song, and also by my all time favorite artist McCartney but at soon as he, as a celebrity opens his mouth against one of our own, which he clearly did.. it is such a turn off. Nope, I wont be helping assist him into his own retirement. Like he needs me anyway??!! Regardless, I gladly pass. Shaddup Paul.. who cares what you think!

  • 6eorge Jetson

Yes, but other than McCartney’s and Soros’ money, who?

  • 6eorge Jetson

    for ya, numbskull?

  • smitch61

Ya think you know somebody. I have had enough of all of these celebrities.

  • chriser

How many books the “one” has read the regime came to power?

  • RedBeard

Twits, then drug-addled twits, and finally has-been drug-addled twits.

So they wrote a bunch of clever songs. So did a lot of other people. So what, in the scheme of things?

Sir Paul. Give me a stinking break. Sir Winnie-the-Pooh would make about as much sense. More, actually, since Pooh wasn’t a drug-addled twit and actually had some sense in his fluff-filled head.

  • spepper

careful, Sir Paulie– your career in music is dangerously close to going the way of the Dixie Chicks……..

  • blooch

    Cottonmouth, macca?

  • cactusjack

The multimillionaire British rock musicians or entertainers, who stay home in England and dutifully pay exorbitant personal taxes, usually, after 30 years come up for knighthood. Sort of a thank you reward for staying in England and funding HM government thing. I guess in Paul’s case, what’s several billion out of several more billion? But for the lower rank millionaires likeMichael Caine, or Sean Connery or Rod Stewart (last two both Scots), staying domiciled in the UK is financially ruinous so they move to places Switzerland, Spain or just stay on the road. They keep more of their money but they don’t ever get invested and made a member of the Club. Rod is rather ticked about that, too. But on the other hand, even if you’re born American, if you emigrate and pay full rate taxes over there and give to the correct charities, you can be made a knight, as was Sir Paul Getty (of Getty Oil fortune). Rush was right, follow the money.

Las Venas Abiertas de America Latina or in English, Open Veins of Latin America: Five Centuries of the Pillage of a Continent

Right up Barack’s alley, as the Guardian describes it thusly:

A classic work in left-wing circles, Galeano’s book analyses five centuries of unequal relations with Europe and the US. It contends that Latin America has been abused as industrialised nations plundered its natural resources, ranging from gold and silver to cocoa and cotton.

Though if it’s in Spanish, Obama will probably have to have it read in translation as bedtime reading.
