He’s one of the two Republican candidates for Governor in Wisconsin (both are currently leading the Democrat in general matchups), and Mark took a moment to talk with us:

Jeff Emanuel: This is so target-rich I don't even know where to begin ¦ Obama signs massive, 'imperfect' spending bill http://t.co/Z5yGXhAl #rsrh
Sorry Mark... This is not your race.
roscopico (Diary) Thursday, July 1st at 7:51PM EDT (link)I’d have voted happily for you had you run against that worthless fool Feingold, instead you chose the wrong race. Walker is the real deal, and the way you keep mudslinging is worthy of contempt.
Im Himmel gibt’s kein Bier…
Agree
madnorskie Thursday, July 1st at 9:37PM EDT (link)Mark is rock solid on his politics, but the conduct of his campaign has been disappointing. I believe he’s ruined his chances of being taken seriously at the state level.
Scott Walker is a good conservative with a fantastic fiscal resume from his time as Milwaukee County Exec. and will make a great Governor.

I agree
JimmyGee (Diary) Thursday, July 1st at 10:20PM EDT (link)First, why anyone would want to be Wisconsin Governor is beyond me. They need a sanity check. Doyle has so screwed up this state’s budget they will be demonized by the liberal press here in Wisconsin.
I am appalled by Mark Neumann’s campaign. Both men are solid conservatives, but Scott Walker has been fighting nearly single-handed in a viper pit of high-tax, unaccountable supervisors that is the Milwaukee Common Council.
What has so angered me is Neumann’s inference of some sort of wrong-doing by Scott Walker in the tragic death of a 15 year old boy that was killed when a concrete facade fell off a Milwaukee County parking structure. That assertion made by Mark Neumann is the act of a desperate campaign.
I wrote Mr. Neumann when he announced his candidacy asking him to reconsider a run against Senator Feingold. Mark was a congressman, so he knows Washington, and has better name recognition than Ron Johnson (thanks for running Ron!!!). I am sure that I was not the only one asking him to run against Feingold.
I am shocked Mark Neumann would stoop so low.
If he had
dmartin Thursday, July 1st at 10:32PM EDT (link)Jumped into the senate race he would likely be ahead of Feingold in the polls instead of 39 points behind Walker like he currently is.
On the other hand, the way he is running his campaign, maybe not.
I think everyone's on the same page
Jon E. Schultz II (IlliniJon) (Diary) Saturday, July 3rd at 9:13AM EDT (link)He’d be a great conservative for Wisconsin, and if Walker weren’t running I’d vote for him for Governor. But Mark’s not and never was going to be able to beat Walker, so why he didn’t jump to the Senate is absolutely beyond me. I’ve heard his wife simply doesn’t want to have to move to/deal with DC, but that’s just hearsay – I don’t have it documented.
It’s really too bad, every time I’ve heard Mark speak I’ve liked what he had to say. But his conduct in this campaign and at the state convention has been appalling.

I lived next to Neumann
handprop Thursday, July 1st at 9:31PM EDT (link)for 20 years. Mark is a very good man and would be a great Governor. I know Scott as well and he is also a good man.
Having talked with both of them i’m confident Wisconsin would be in good shape with either candidate.
