Robin Carnahan campaign apologizes for attack.

It seems that one of their campaign’s guys (Kansas City Councilman Bill Skaggs) got a little grabby and profane with a Republican video tracker. By that I mean that Skaggs apparently laid hands on the video tracker, threatened him, swore at him (not bleeped out on the video below, so keep that in mind), and called him ‘boy’*. Funny how these people hate being on the receiving end of the exact same observation tactics that they so exhaustively used in years past, isn’t it?

Skaggs didn’t apologize for anything except the profanity, thus requiring the Robin Carnahan campaign to take time out from their sinking Senatorial campaign to issue this statement:

“Robin does not condone this type of unacceptable behavior and it is a distraction from the real issues that matter in this campaign.”

So, I guess that means that Councilman Bill Skaggs has been asked to disassociate himself from the campaign, right? Seeing as they don’t condone this, and everything. No? Well, I suppose that makes a certain amount of sense: at this point, Robin Carnahan can’t exactly afford to alienate any of the people still planning to vote for her in November…

PS: Roy Blunt for Senate. Not getting grabby with your person or your wallet.

*I wonder if anyone over at the Carnahan campaign is wondering whether that tracker was Caucasian or not. Because if he wasn’t, then that ‘boy’ that Councilman Bill Skaggs used is going to be an issue.

“Funny how these people hate being on the receiving end of the exact same observation tactics that they so exhaustively used in years past, isn?t it?”

…it speaks volumes as to how thoroughly unhinged these colossal pinheads and self-absorbed bullsh*t artists have become. Having spent the better part of a decade screaming like a bunch of petulant children for just what we’re suffering through now, they remain blissfully ignorant of this whole, “action/consequences” concept.

Ergo, it would seem as if almost half of this country was born without any knowledge of the definition of “hypocrisy.”

I think what a lot of Donks are going for at this point, knowing they’re going to lose their jobs, is to precipitate really bad situations where someone uses force in response to force. They’re obviously not interested in talking much, and when an elected official does that the only thing that’s on their mind is provoking the other party into doing something that breaks the law and has them put in jail.

Everyone should be on their guard in this election season for provocative acts by Democrats who are about to lose their jobs: their goal is really to make you respond badly, and have you put in jail.

This goes especially for everyone who is a CCW permit holder in this country. Normally you have to think twice: in this election season, you’d better think three times.

Said after shoving someone, and with a closed fist, is a fighting statement. The person with the camera here showed remarkable restraint. If someone came across a parking lot like that at me, shoved me, and then said that with a closed fist, and I was carrying a weapon, you have anyone’s guess what the next thing that might have happened would have been.

My advice to activists on our side is to expect a lot more of this and to keep your powder dry. These things are deliberate provocations, they’re not spur-of-the-moment reactions.

Along with Cleaver and Barnes and a number of others I could name, they’ve brought the city of my birth to its knees and chased out a good tax-payer base at the same time.

…the in-the face threat of bodily harm fits the legal description of assault, while the actual shove fits the legal description of battery. Not small matters. If Carnahan doesn’t get rid of that paunchy wannabe thug, charges should be pressed. And if she does get rid of him, the video still needs to become a part of many campaign ads.

Whether or not Carnahan gets rid of him is irrelevant. Letting him skate on something like this will just guarantee more violent confrontations in the future…

Lock ‘em up and toss the key in the garbage!

KCMO is a cesspool of corruption and incompentancy and I can say that because I grew up here. KCMO schools were decertified (or whatever the phrase is), as in a high school diploma from there wouldn’t get you into college. Anyone with a brain cell moves OUT of KCMO as soon as they can. Hell, when Emanual Cleaver was the mayor of KCMO, he lived on the very east edge ofthe city limits where the suburban Raytown school district started. What’s left is a crumbling tax base, drugs, gangs and ghettos, sprinkled with some nice older neighborhoods occupied by mostly liberals because it’s the “tony” place to be. I love this metro area but have been over in Kansas for 34 years now. No way I would live in KCMO ever again.

Listen to it again. I had to close my eyes and listen to it. Until the third try without watching it, I didn’t even catch the line about beating up with expletive. What I caught the first go-round was that it sounds like he initially says, “Bwah-HA-Ha!”, sort-of an Ooga-Booga! I scared you/ made you jump, kind of juvenilism. My assessment is backed up by the fact that he smiles, almost laughs as he walks away.

I don’t think he meant the cameraman any real harm. That said, it was too much. He could have accomplished his silly crack by thumbing a nose, sticking out a tongue, jumping and saying “Boo!”, etc. You don’t threaten violence, even mockingly and especially not jokingly… moreso when you’re an elected official or connected to a campaign, business, etc.

I don’t know that I’d file charges or sue if I were the cameraman, but I’d certainly do what the cameraman has done, plaster that video and the guy’s name and Carnahan’s campaign all over the place.

I didn’t even make out the statement at first and saw him walking off laughing…. had to turn it up a bit and listen close to hear the words. Seems like he was just trying to scare the guy a bit in a funny way, not really meaning to hurt him.
