QotD, ‘Hey Rube!’ Edition.

Glenn Reynolds, on watching yet another babbling leftist idiot* snap out of it and realize that he was fed antiwar porn by the current administration:

This keeps happening. Ah, but remember when you now-disappointed Obama supporters were lecturing us about the fierce moral urgency of change? With such overweening self-righteousness? Even as you resolutely failed to look at what was going on, or to inquire into what Obama was actually like? So pardon me, now-disappointed Obama voters, if I point out that you’re rubes. Again, and again.

Indeed.

Indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed, indeed.

Moe Lane

PS: We had the natsec limitations of this guy pegged before the election, by the way.  It’s just that his worshipers didn’t want to listen.

*Said idiot believes that Gitmo is the Ninth Bolgia of Hell, that waterboarding is torture, and that 9/11 is an appropriate day to essentially accuse the American people for being racists because they don’t like the idea of the Ground Zero Mosque; please keep this is mind when reading the article.

why isn't Cindy Sheehan in a camped in a Chicago ditch?

Doc Holliday (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 8:14PM EDT (link)

Why did the press stop caring about her after Obama was enshrined? What sticks out to me is that most on the left ignore the fact that Obama did not pull out of Iraq and Afghanistan. It was so huge to them, they would count the number of deaths, now, not so much.

Molon Labe!

She's busy now

SteveLA (Diary) Sunday, September 12th at 8:18PM EDT (link)

Cindy and the other loon, Cynthia McKenny are trying to start a third party… Dumb and Dumber.

Or maybe working on a TV show plan for MSNBC, The Dumbest…co hosted with LiLo.

Actually, Their Party Is Already Dead In CA!

IJB Monday, September 13th at 12:12AM EDT (link)

It’s already been tried – it was called the “Peace & Freedom Party”. AFAICT, it’s either entirely lost ballot access, or has lost ballot access to most statewide races.

Peace & Freedom used to run someone for every statewide office (back in the 80s and 90s). Now? Not so much…

Note that I said "some parts" of CA.

mbecker908 (Diary) Monday, September 13th at 12:21AM EDT (link)

They’d do well in the SF Bay Area, around LA where most voters can’t speak, read or write standard English and probably in Sacramento. Not at all in the CV or probably up north.

Cindy got her a** kicked back to Vacaville when she ran against Pelosi in 2008.

BTW, contrary to what would be conventional wisdom, I think that any success they have with a third party will benefit more the CA Democrats than for the CA Republicans.

It’s sort of like the tension between the Boxer and the Feinstein wings of the party; if the extreme leftists bolt, then the CA Democrats can move more to the “center” (of couse the Cemocratic “center” is seriously listing to the port side) – but a move that will capture more votes than they might lose.

The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis

The Problem With The "Feinstein Wing" of the Party...

IJB Monday, September 13th at 12:48AM EDT (link)

…Is that is mostly unprincipled, and definitely *corrupt*.

So I’m not sure you’re right about what you say – if the Dems lose the loony Left, they’re basically left with the Corruptocrats and while they might win some elections in CA with the latter, they’d be just a likely to start losing some when their corruptness gets them hauled before some judge some time down the road.

I actually think without the Pelosi/Boxer wing to provide them cover, the “Feinstein” wing of the D’s would quickly wear out their welcome in CA (see, for example: Bell, CA).

The Left's Failure Spiral

Spartan4Life (Diary) Monday, September 13th at 12:12AM EDT (link)

Just read Frank Rich’s column, “Time for this big dog to bite back.” Ooohhh, I’m so scared. What was even funnier was to read all the lefties comments saying, “Yeah! What he said!”

The problem is that as Obama goes out on his John Boehner Plays More Golf Than Me! tour to shore up his base, the more he scares the the other 70% of Americans who probably didn’t know 30% of the country was Communist before Obama got elected. Doom, I smell doom.

Leftists are idiots

Adjoran (Diary) Monday, September 13th at 1:28AM EDT (link)

They are so busy being evil they seldom notice – not that they are so self-aware anyway. But every now and then one of them has a moment of clarity and says, “Hey! We’ve been had! This crap doesn’t work!” and has to be sent to a secret reeducation camp for reprogramming.

It reminds of the old joke about the con man who sold the rube Smart Pills, and the says, “These don’t work – you cheated me!” and the con man points out, “See, you’re getting smarter already!”

The howls of "betrayal" ring hollow

Mr. Rube’s bellyaching in the LA Times started out with a James Madison quote — you know, one of the Founders all of the Rube clones show such deference, admiration and respect for? — to ostensibly establish his point that Bush-Cheney “used” national security threats to gobble up power and expand Executive prerogatives; and that Obama rode in on a Reform Horse to reverse all of that un-American damage. But now, oh, dear me, the Obama bunch are not only not reversing the damage, they’re EXPANDING it! How could they?!? Who could EVER have seen this coming??? Huh.

A problem I have with this entire line of (radicals’) buyer’s remorse, is that the radicals themselves have long flaunted their disdain, not only for all things American, but also for truth, integrity and honorable discourse: “The ends justify the means.” They believe that, and live by it. And so, they promoted and lied for and covered-up for a presidential candidate who shared their propensity to justify the means, any means, to achieve the desired “ends.”

So now they’re surprised and upset to find out that “their” favored ‘ends’ were not necessarily his favored ‘ends?’ After they knew, because they helped him do so, they knew he lied to the rest of the American people, but they assumed he was always truthful with them. Yeah. Don’t you just feel their pain? Me too.

Wait... hold on there... you mean Obama lies, even to his own court fools?

RedBeard Monday, September 13th at 7:22AM EDT (link)

Say it ain’t so!

Ok, show of hands. Who wasn’t aware of Obama’s sociopathic and duplicitous nature well before November of ’08? Oh, yes, I see some timid hand-raising over there in the far left corner, under that tattered and faded Hope and Change banner.

Well, maybe next time you folks on the left will take the time to learn about your guy before you deify him.

Or not. Probably not.

Standard-bearer for grouchy curmudgeonry since, oh, 1975 or so.

for what would occur if in fact their policies were enacted. Obama is stuck with some of these policies precisely because there is no alternative, at least not now.
I notice that the lunatic Rutten does not enumerate choice in medical coverage, tax cuts, and reduced deficits, as things conducive to freedom, and I wonder just how much freedom the lunatic lost because three islamic murderers were waterboarded.
