My husband and I had the pleasure of listening to Mr. Cain speak in Austin this morning and I only have one word for him – AWESOME! So much common sense and intelligence.

I didn’t realize, until he said it, that he has overcome stage 4 colon cancer and liver cancer.

He’s my kind of leader. I’m not ashamed to admit that I sneaked in a little hug, too.

    I heard him on 08/27/10.
His voice is still resounding in my head when I read your posts, However,
I did not hear he wants to run in 2012.

He left the door open. Wide open.

I’ve heard Herman Cain filling in for Neil Bortz and always enjoyed his dialog. On a side note. someone needs to find a more masculine interviewer for these events.

he sure did leave the door wide open for a 2012 run. Here’s the link to his whole speech but if you go to abt the 4:00 minute mark he talks about being on the straw poll ballot.

put Cain in charge of building the fence?

It was very good foresight to schedule Mr. Cain just before lunch — I would not have wanted to be the speaker that had to follow him.

I also didn’t realize until I looked it up later that he has an earlier claim to fame, in that he was that businessman who back in 1994 confronted then-president Clinton over how much Hillarycare would have forced him to raise prices.

I will be watching for his future plans with great interest.

….to a point where there is an argument that Georgia republican primary voters could argue that there wasn’t “truth in advertising” for Nathan Deal… then I think Herman Cain would make an excellent write-in candidate for Governor of Georgia. (or replacement candidate)

Red State is not the place to promote write-in candidates.

    Don’t do it again.

The way he put it was something like this (paraphrasing, but close): “You put up a 20-foot fence. Electrify it on top. Then put a football-field wide lake filled with alligators. Hell, if they get past that *I’ll* give them a job!”
