What is the sound of $2.5M flushing?

this.

South Carolina Democratic candidate Rob Miller has apparently adopted Republicans’ “Fire Pelosi” mantra.

According to a report by The Associated Press, Miller — who is hoping to oust Rep. Joe Wilson (R) in the South Carolina 2nd district race — said Wednesday that he would not vote to keep Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) as Speaker in the 112th Congress.

Via, of all things, @markos, who is upset that Democrats gave Miller 2.5 million dollars to retire his 2008 debt and lose again to Joe Wilson in 2010 (hint, Robbie: don’t go into the red this time); I would have posted this last night, except that it took me this long to stop laughing.

PS: Joe Wilson for SC-02Not voting for Pelosi for Speaker, either.

…for a few seconds over fine scotch and cigars at the club.

Well, actually it was more of a belly laugh, but I distinctly remember wiping my brow and gasping for air.

Joe Wilson’s unorthodox outburst came at the apex of Obama’s power. It was the small flicker of light during a time of tyrannical darkness. It made so much sense for the left to target his political career for extinction. It must be deflating seeing him remain stand, perhaps more strong, after showing dissent.

Congressman Wilson doesn’t just represent waste of 2.5M, but the inability of a tyrant to do away with dissent as long as Democracy stands.

I prefer a good, dark rum for occasions of schadenfreude.

    D*mn you, Fidel Castro.

His outburst at Obama may be the high point of his career. The guy is no gem – unless you compare him to the bottom-feeding lowlifes like Miller, when he starts looking better all the time.

South Carolina is a Republican state, but we shouldn’t go all Pollyanna about it. We have Republican reformers like Sanford and Haley and Tim Scott, but they amount to roughly 20% of the legislature. The rest of the Republicans, especially those entrenched in the legislature or local offices, are every bit as corrupt as the Democrats. For the most part, elections determine who gets 2/3 of the ill-gotten gains and who must settle for 1/3.

Joe Miller isn’t considered one of the reformers, so don’t break out the really good champagne to celebrate his victory.
