Paging Linda McMahon (R CAND, CT-SEN)…

Ace looks upon this video, and declares it the raw material for Linda’s next campaign ad:

…and I heartily agree. For those without video access, it’s from a primary debate between Dick Blumenthal and Merrik Alpert. Alpert pointed out, in so many words, that under Dick’s tenure as Attorney General Connecticut was one of two states* to have a net loss of jobs. And then Alpert proceeded to ask Dick how many jobs his lawsuits created. Dick’s response was that his lawsuits created jobs because businesses love competition.

No, really, that’s what he said. Presumably, Dick’s argument is if he hadn’t done all those lawsuits then Connecticut would have lost even more jobs. Or that it was only through Dick’s regular sacrifices of marmosets to the Great Pumpkin every Roodmass that Connecticut has so far not been swept out to sea by a vengeful tsunami.

Look, it makes just as much sense as Dick’s actual answer, OK?

PS: Linda McMahon for Senate.

*Hi, Governor Jennifer Granholm! Thanks for giving us Michigan! Rick Snyder for Governor!

    Just. . .wow. Who knew?

A bit off-topic, but I never cease to be amazed at the degree to which character can inform physicality. (Call it the Waxman Phenomena, to cite an a horrifying example.) This guy looks, acts and carries himself as exactly what he is, and that particular, peculiar forced smile he and those like him plaster across their faces is about to be wiped off, come a few more weeks time.

A lot of masks are about to hit the ground, and what they hide will not prove at all pretty.

I’ve been trying to put my finger on it, and now it’s perfectly clear. Ol’ Dick looks like he belongs at Madame Tussaud’s.

my gut tells me once in DC she will confound conservatives and have regular lunches with Olympia and Susan.

Better than the alternative “I was in Vietnam, err well not really”, “the way to create a job is through government -A.K.A- Obamanomics is just peachy”, but nonetheless sure to disappoint,

To paraphrase and old friend “she’s no Michelle Bachmann”. That’s pretty evident when you read Ace’s piece between the lines.

…for all I care. Like them, we will at least know where a Senator McMahon can be relied upon; which is frankly I think where a lot of people have problems with Graham and/or McCain.

we *DO* know exactly how they are positioned: on the fence, with a post firmly embedded in their center of gravity as they spin furiously about trying to kiss all butts equally.

Those who present themselves as being all things to all men actually have nothing for any but a chosen few. (me)

I believe she represents everything we are trying to take a stand against; people who simply say what they must to get elected and then become unreliable once in office.

    Other days. Not so much.

    I just don’t know.

I THINK she is better than the alternative since she will hopefully stand on the side of liberty. And at least she knows she didn’t serve in Vietnam- so she has a leg up.
