QotD, Moonbeam Brown’s Been Weird For Years Edition.

(Via Hot Air Headlines) Apparently in 1995 Brown took a firm stand against… mammograms.

But that was 1995, right? Well, when asked about it now…

Asked if he believes in mammography, [Brown spokesman Clifford] Clifford said, “He believes in people not getting cancer, has not followed developments in the effectiveness of various specific cancer screenings.”

Which leads Yid With Lid to remark:

In other words his opinions haven’t changed. Way to go NOW, you just endorsed a guy who doesn’t think mammograms should be covered by insurance.

Moe Lane (Crosspost)

PS: ‘”Feminism.” You keep using that word, NOW. I do not think it means what you think it means.

PPS: Meg Whitman for Governor.

True story....

smitch61 Saturday, October 9th at 11:36PM EDT (link)

I was conservative, before I knew I was conservative. Years ago when my children were little I did not give a damn about politics, nor could I have differentiated either party or what they stood for. There was even a time when I thought I was for the total ban on guns ( I know)….. One thing I can tell you is that my sister in law is the most liberal, atheist individual I know. I always thought she was a tad weird. She was very politically involved with the Democrat party and still is…. She took me to a NOW meeting in the late 80′s……… I had enough sense that night to know that was the weirdest bunch of women I had ever run up against in my entire life. Needless to say I never returned, and I began studying politics……

Well California has been weird for years too

He's against people getting cancer, a real mensch

I would vote in a minute for a man who’s against people getting cancer, make it a slogan. Everyone knows Republicans are for people getting cancer, we need someone to stand up and fight,[ liberals are always standing up to fight ] against the Big Business, Pro-Cancer lobby.
But is Brown against the common cold ?

Prevention vs. Detection

TXCHLInstructor Sunday, October 10th at 11:44AM EDT (link)

I would go for the idea of prevention over post facto detection. Prevention is cheaper and more effective. So I’m a bit puzzled about your attack on this point. You couldn’t find something better to pin on this guy?

Does the 2nd Amendment actually mean what it says, or should we just scrap the whole document? (www.chl-tx.com)

Maybe you missed the irony

of NOW endorsing a guy whose campaign staff vocabulary includes the term “whore” to mean “a threat to my political success,” and whose position on mammograms is squarely in opposition to NOW’s.

Let’s prevent breast cancer, so we have no need to screen for it. While we are at it, let’s just prevent all cancers.

Could you share with us exactly how we prevent breast cancer?

You're "puzzled" all right!

Adjoran (Diary) Monday, October 11th at 12:13AM EDT (link)

Let’s “prevent” breast cancer! What a waste of money this “early detection and treatment” stuff is, right”?

I hope they don’t let you carry live ammo.

Prevention is cheaper?

PowerToThePeople (Diary) Monday, October 11th at 12:30AM EDT (link)

Are you for real? Even if prevention was possible in most cases, which it is not, the cost behind the research to get to the point of prevention is astronomical not too mention the cost to use it on the millions that live in this country would be sky high as well.

Many cancers can be prevented, but then you get into the whole nanny government thing. By this I mean we all know do not smoke, do not get cancer of the lungs. That is until cancer in your stomach metabolizes there, or cancer in your lymph nodes, etc.

Some cancers are a product of your environment. Some can be prevented, others not so well. Other cancers are a product of nature killing us as it is to be. Not much to prevent there.

Most cancers have something to do with genetics. Again, while they are getting closer to understanding what genes cause cancer, the research to get there has been very expensive and the cost to alter your gene makeup is very high and not proven to be 100% effective.

Screening for breast cancer and other types of cancer have saved millions of lives not to mention all the lives that were lengthened due to early care. For anyone to make a claim that we should skip the detection shows them to be a numbnut and a little on the idiot side of life.

HAHAHA!!! Democrat wants Obama impeached

jmo--sanantonio, tx (Diary) Sunday, October 10th at 1:34PM EDT (link)

Kesha Rogers, a Lyndon LaRouche follower and Democratic challenger to U.S. Rep. Pete Olson, R-Sugar Land, has been campaigning on a platform that starts with impeaching President Barack Obama.

Her campaign sent out a news release Friday calling on top members of the executive branch to relieve the president of his duties via the 25th Amendment to the Constitution, citing “numerous public displays of President Obama’s ongoing psychological meltdown.”

“Lyndon LaRouche warned you on April 11, 2009, that the narcissistic personality of President Obama would self-destruct. That is now happening, and so we must use the 25th Amendment, to get Obama out now, and save the nation. The Vice President must now act, the Senate and Congress must now act, to come back into session on an emergency basis, take the appropriate measures to keep Barack Obama safe from himself, and then deal with the hyperinflationary blowout of our Federal banking system.”

Brown for Governor...ummm...Fuehrer

civil truth (Diary) Sunday, October 10th at 5:21PM EDT (link)

Probably these folks won’t be getting any political plums from Jerry for this endorsement.

The greatest evil…is conceived and ordered (moved, seconded, carried, and minuted) in clean, carpeted, warmed, and well-lighted offices, by quiet men with white collars and cut fingernails and smooth-shaven cheeks who do not need to raise their voice. Hence, naturally enough, my symbol for Hell is something like the bureaucracy of a police state or the offices of a thoroughly nasty business concern. -C.S. Lewis

NOW understands their role

Adjoran (Diary) Monday, October 11th at 12:18AM EDT (link)

There have to be sacrifices made for the Internationale Revolution. Big sacrifices.

And if that means many of you must give your lives, well, that’s a risk NOW is willing to take.

After all, they set such a shining example by not wearing makeup or nice clothes, or doing anything to make themselves more attractive to the patriarchal imperialists, that if you are called upon to die a slow and painful death, you ought to do so for greater glory of the Revolution, all your pain relieved by the knowledge that Comrade Obama appreciates the sacrifices of all you little people, and would mention all your names in solemn reverence except he is running late for his tee time and he really needs a break, y’all, mmmkay?
