Alexi Giannoulias: “I didn’t know the extent of their activity.”

Mark Kirk?  The video at this link?  It’s your next campaign ad.

“If I knew then what I know now, these are not the kind of people that we’d do business with,” he added, “but that’s not how banks work.” Asked again if he knew that criminal figures were the recipients of some of those loans, Alexi Giannoulias (D-IL) said again, “I didn’t know the extent of their activity.”

Yes.  This was Alexi Giannoulias’s answer to the question of whether Alexi Giannoulias and his fellow bankers knew about the entire pimp, bookie, and mobster thing before they lent all that money to all those pimps, bookies, and mobsters.  He didn’t know the extent of their activity.  He said this.  Twice.

In case you were wondering: this is not a good answer.

    Kirk and Brady signs everywhere. If you didn’t know better you would think they are unopposed. Kirk killing Alexi with ads on TV. Especially the one with the mother saying Alexi blew their kids college savings while Treasurer. Very effective ad. I am guessing just based on the feel while there that Kirk is pulling away in this race.

    Well, at least AG didn’t give an obvious “I had no idea” lie.

    I guess Alexi was trying to say that he knew about the drug dealing, prostitution, loan sharking, stealing, arson & insurance fraud, but had no idea these mobsters were involved with murder, too.

    Down here Kirk is mainly riding Brady’s coat tails. The enthusiasm is all for Brady – Kirk is mostly a “lesser of two evils” afterthought who will benefit from it.

    I have yet to see a single Quinn or Giannoulias sign.

    Lets see, you need to check the bonafides of the folks requesting the loan but you don’t. Then the “folks” default and stick the banks with excessive losses.

    I live on the NW side of Chicago – the nice part all the police and firefighters live, so they can claim a city address – and I just saw my first Quinn sign yesterday. Still haven’t spotted a Giannoulias. A lot of Bradys, a few Kirks.

    Also, the bulk of the signs that ARE up are for state reps, county commissioners and such, but the democrats aren’t putting “democrat” on their signs.

    Again, this is in the city of Chicago proper.

Now instead of anyone on this site looking at your site, we will simply ignore it as we find spammers to be lower than poo on the decency scale. In fact we find spammer to be lower than democrats on the decency scale and that is saying a lot considering poo recently passed the dems on the scale making poo a better thing than dems and now you, a spammer.

    I have a 1 minute video of the initial avoidance, followed by stuttering panic and then the final admission that Giannoulias knew who he was giving the loans to.
