FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Chris Matthews brings DOOM unto Jack Conway.

Yes. That Chris Matthews. Matthews apparently did not personally approve of the way that Jack Conway smeared Rand Paul with a recent scurrilous ad, and so took the opportunity to smack Conway around for over seven minutes of pretty much relentless, aggressive interviewing.

Yes, again: that Chris Matthews.  As I remarked just now on Twitter, watching this was like watching Jack Conway get mauled by a Teletubbie.

H/T: Erick Erickson, on Twitter.

PS: Rand Paul for Senate.

PPS: I believe that the DSCC may now start transferring money out of that race with a clear conscience.

I wanted to ask that blonde-headed guy, “Who are you and what have you done with Chris Matthews?”

That debate should be the final nail on ole Jack’s coffin.

  • Doc Holliday

    too bad nobody saw it.

  • heir2freedom

I must say, it’s surprising to watch Matthews actually appear to grill a Democrat. He won’t win any brownie points from his leftist base, but it was refreshing to see him at least try to be somewhat objective. He gets one thumb up.

CONFIRMED: COLUMNIST EUGENE ROBINSON HATES WHITE CONSERVATIVES

…To transfer money back into MO.
Where it’ll do absolutely no good, whatsoever.
Just like it would have in KY! :)

(Maybe our aim for the last two weeks should be in tricking the DSCC into spending money on Republican seats that they have no chance of winning! Perhaps we can trick them into spending some money in FL?! Or OH, perhaps?!! [eg] Heh. )

  • throwback59

was expecting to be grilled like that.
    Kudos to Matthews. For once.

  • NeoKong

He was actually holding a Democrat accountable. Has even he finally reached his limit….? I think that this is an indication of something more here.
Maybe the Conway ad was the straw that broke the camel’s back for Matthews and simply just cannot take listening to one more obvious lie from a Democrat.
Don’t forget that Matthews had staked his reputation (for whatever it’s worth) on Democrats and Barack Obama and almost everyone of them down to the last person have been lying through their teeth since Jan. 09 and he realizes that he has been part of it.

Or maybe he is just having cramps.

  • qixlqatl

what a journalist is supposed to do?

Nahhh, couldn’t be. I’m going with the cramps thing.

  • Oz

Bob Scheiffer hititng back on the C of C attacks.

And now two journalists taking conway to task.

  • Jack

Now that truly sent a thrill going up my leg.

  • Adjoran

I think it was on CNBC at first, but he wasn’t nearly the tingling lefty he is today. Oh, I’m sure he was at heart – he worked for JDhimmi Carter and Tip “Hic” O’Neill – but he took the whole “journalism” think seriously and tried to show some balance, which is really all anyone can expect.

If Conway were some oddball candidate, it would still be a despicable attack. But for the sitting AG of Kentucky to pull this crap, well, let me say on behalf of the last decent Democrat in Kentucky, the late Wendell Ford, it is absolutely disgraceful.

Today’s Democrats are bottom feeders. It’s not like Rand Paul doesn’t present any number of issues for legitimate disagreement or criticism, but leave it to Democrats to go for the low blows and the falsified dirt every time.

This, btw, is why I try to be vigilant when those on our own side who venture over the line. And if some people don’t like that, I don’t give a rat’s patootie.

…I’m gonna be laughing about that one for days. And then intermittently whenever I see Matthews.

I mean, c’mon, Conway represents Obama’s administration. He smells of Axelrod’s tactics. I think Matthews just needs a job on 11/3.

I’m not going to believe Matthews will consistently defend anything any conservative says…but he sure approaches Conway as the roach he behaves like. I won’t consider Chris as a reformed human until about the 97th one of these interviews…and maybe just after he signs a contract w/ Fox…which may be just after the Teletubbie mauling (which is a brilliant analogy).

  • speciallist

with all of us using twitter, Facebook, etc……we can spread it around almost instantly and make sure everyone sees it

    see?

  • Doc Holliday

maybe tweety will get some coverage.

  • GreyCloak

Of course, I have been watching him lying about Republicans and giving undeserved credibility to Democrats for years … but I have an incredibly vain hope that he’s somewhere “got the message” … and that is that reporters should question candidates and reports facts.

    Finally, some honesty!

    Kudos, Chris,

He uses one rule for Democrats and another for Republicans.

Matthews (beginning at about 4:45 in the clip above):

Should I ask you questions about the Bible, what you believe? Should I start asking you questions, whether you believe in the seven days of creation? If you believe in angels? Should I start asking politicians those questions? Personally, I refuse. I don’t think I have a right to know what you believe about Christianity or what you believe deep down.

    Ahem.

Roll tape (Chrissie on Hardball, May 5, 2009, with Mike Pence):

Chrissie: “I’m not an objective journalist, I just play one on television.”

    For Liberty,
ColdWarrior, PC (that?s ?precinct committeeman,? not ?political child!?)
Conservatives, UNITE! CHANGE the Republican Party and save the world by UNITING INSIDE the Party as precinct committeemen. NOW! (14 days until Nov. 2 — what are YOU DOING to help get out the vote in your precinct?)

The band played “The World Turned Upside Down.”

When even tingletoes counts coup and draws blood on the dims, the tsunami is already on the beach. Nothing I’ve seen, from polls to talking heads to Neil’s analyses has, I believe, adequately gaged what we will see of the political landscape on November 3rd. I hereby predict there will be a surfeit of applicants for any “community organizer” positions.

  • Josh Painter

… I’m not ashamed of Chris Matthews as a fellow Catholic. He will say something, probably today, probably about a conservative woman, that is shameful. But for one fleeting moment, he walked in the light.

  • johnt

Right now Matthews is chained to the wall of his rubber room while his handlers stuff meds down his throat and prep him for his next ugly tirade.

  • blooch

    just spike his tubby toast.

    lol

  • expatuae

That is a pretty despicable ad. Conway deserves to get flushed on that one.

Giving some $ to Rand right now.
