What to do with one day to go.

So.  The election’s tomorrow.  You’re going to vote, if you haven’t already; and you’ve helped out in your local state/district/county.  But you’ve maybe got a spare $20 or a couple of hours… and, honestly, nobody in your regular slate of candidates needs it.  Yes, of course, every little bit helps – but, honestly, they’re all fine.  Really.  You’d think that you can maybe splurge a little and give somebody a political treat.

OK, here’s what you do then.  A while back, the NRCC put up a map of every Republican running for Congress, broken down by first state, and then Congressional district.  It has been an amazingly useful resource for me, by the way: to give just one example, having it handy allowed me to quickly track down challengers in suddenly-competitive districts (and there have been a lot of those this cycle).  The NRCC absolutely needs to keep this feature in future election cycles, by the way… but I digress.  Anyway, click on the map more or less at random, look for a blue-colored district in whatever state that you end up in, and click through to the challenger’s website*.  If you like what you see, dispense largess as you see fit. Trust me, they’ll be glad to get the money and/or time.

And you never know.  We’re going to have a lot of close elections.  Maybe it’ll be your help that makes the difference.

Moe Lane (crosspost)

*With 430 out of 435 races featuring a Republican in the contest, you have a 98.85% chance of getting a hit.

Pray that those who have evil in their hearts will be defeated.
Pray that those who wish to steal elections will be exposed.
Pray that this great nation continues of a path of rightousness.
Pray that those who are elected have the courage to do what is right.

By this evening, our prayers and our votes will be all we’ll have left…it will all be in other hands.

Please get out to vote. Let nothing stop you. Remember the schools in areas where the teachers have election day off in their contracts are closed. The UAW has election day off in their contract. THIS is one of the reasons Michigan in blue…… get off your tail feather.

GOTV calls to GOP voters in my precinct all day today and all day tomorrow.

Oh, there are volunteers like my wife who’re making calls for the Republican candidate, Robyn Hamlin, but she has received zero, I repeat, ZERO, vocal or more importantly, monetary support from any Republican organization, from the national level down to the county level.

The Republicans and Tea Party are instead willing to spend money on MO3 because it’s Robin Carnahan’s brother Russ, even though in many respects MO3 is just as left/Democrat leaning as MO1. If the Tea Party and Republicans thought they had a chance in winning MO3, then why not with MO1?

Republicans are also behind Vicky Hartzler for MO4 against Ike Skelton. Skelton’s likely to lose his race, yet the funny thing is that due to the 2010 census, MO4 as a district will probably go poof within the next year, so a win for either side will largely be for bragging rights only.

If the Tea Party and RNC believes that they could make MO3 competitive and possibly vote Republican, then most certainly they should believe it possible for MO1.

If the Tea Party and Republicans really want to put principles first and make a genuine effort for 2012, they need to find a strong candidate to go up against Lacy Clay. If you believe Russ Carnahan can be taken down, then you ought to believe Lacy Clay can be taken down. The Tea Parties and Republicans have a year to find and cultivate the perfect candidate to put up against Mr. Clay in 2012.

And maybe then, the RNC will put out some names, support and money for that candidate like they have for Mrs. Hartzler and Mr. Martin.

…because they will redistrict out the 4th just to get rid of him. Lexington really ought to be in Sam Graves district anyway and Graves would cream Skelton.

If Vicky wins tomorrow, look for someone else’s seat to be taken out. Maybe they’ll draw a line right through KC to dilute the urban vote strength by splitting it between Graves’ and Hartzler’s districts. Maybe they take away one of STL’s three congressional seats and allow that metro to be covered by just two representatives. Could Ed Martin take out Lacy Clay?

The GOP-controlled state legislature will try to take out a blue seat, of that much I’m sure. We’ll have to wait till Tuesday to find out what colors they will be.

I’ll do a couple of 3 hour shifts, when voting is heaviest around here. Go, Cierpiot, Kraus, and Blunt.
