I voted early this morning with my husband. We were both excited about this election. Even though we vote in every election, big and small, this one felt different. It felt like it was more important than the others.

Let’s hope that enthusiasm catches on and the Republicans do even better than expected.

Several of the volunteers I have working are calling the number of ballots casted in the precincts. While the turn out is not of 2008 proportions, in traditionally “Republican” precincts it is higher than usual for mid-terms and in the traditionally “Democrat” precincts it is much lower.

I’m hearing that the turnout is heavy, even this early in the day. I’m predicting that Gov. Patrick goes down by 3 points to Baker, and that there will be at least one upset in the congressional races, probably Rep. Niki Tsongas.

Mo Brooks will win, but how big Mo Brooks wins tells us how much the Dems have lost Jacksonian voters.

A Mo Brooks Landslide will be analogous with the huge Jay Cost style GOP win.

A Mo Brooks ugly, 2am win would suggest 2 more years of Speaker Pelosi.

Walked to the precinct with my 2 year old son, beautiful day outside (fall in Florida is great, it’s 70 and sunny), Voted for Marco and Rick Scott and a whole bunch of Republicans – my congresscritter is John Mica, no danger of losing. No on 4, 5 & 6, no on a property tax increase.

Today is going to be a good day, haven’t felt this way since 2004….

Traffic was very light this morning, and I live in Dallas – normally I-35 is a parking lot, and it was moving very smoothly.. I’m thinking voter turnout is going to be huge.. and hopefully that translates into a huge pickup for conservatives.

It would be fun (at least for me) to have an open thread where we can all chatter a bit.

The precinct polling site needed another clerk. Offered me the job. Physically couldn’t do it from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. My retired DH is doing it instead. A matter of duty.

My vote is done.

Spelled backwards is mood and for conservatives we will be in a good one when the results come rolling in.

in VA-11, reportedly the wealthiest voting district in the United States. (I find that amusing, considering I drive a 14-year-old Camry with a dent in the side and 225,000 miles on it and clip coupons for peanut butter!)

The sample ballots handed out are printed on one color for R and another color for D. As I looked at voters coming in, I’d say the number of those holding the R color was about even with the number of Ds. Some voters foiled my informal survey by holding both colors and trying to act non-partisan.

Did anyone read the Esquire romance piece about Harry Reid? It said his interanls were up 4 to 8 over angle, and they have kept the early voting numbers in their favor. They are also saying more republicans are likely to cross over for Reid than to vote Angle. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

worked outside the polls 6:30a to about 10a. About 20% turnout at 10am. GOP voters were a bit riled up. Registration is about 66%/33% Dem over GOP. Last year we did very well here for McDonnell, Bolling & Cucinelli. Our House of Delegate candidate lost the precinct by 20 votes … which is remarkable. The Dem outside worker (she’s well connected) said that VA-8 is close (“about 50/50″). If VA-8 is 50/50, then that is a huge message.

Heading back tonight to do the late shift to close as well.

IL district 14. Most crowded I have ever seen.

MI 15th is a very democrat district. I cast my vote – straight R ticket with pride…. The polling place was slow… at noon I was number 76,,, dems must not be coming out today.

I went and I voted for Morgan Griffith at noon, the polling place was nearly empty but according to a friend they had had almost 22 percent turnout by noon, since only around fifty percent in this precinct usually come out voting here is almost half done.

Suburban Indiana, 1 hour out of Chicago in Indiana…part suburban, part farm area. DH just phoned. He agreed on the spur of the moment to work as clerk this a.m. when we went to vote. Super heavy turnout. Lived here over 40 years and never, never saw such a heavy turnout.

We in Lake County and have been under corrupt Dem rule countywide since at least the 60′s. Some Dem bosses of the ’60s were at least patriots and are probably rolling over in their graves knowing what the progressives are doing now.

Am hoping/thinking/praying that people see the chance to oust Gary and East Chicago, IN pol types from their continuous outlaw rule.

In the House I went from voting for a Republican who will lose to one that will win by moving into Duncan Hunter’s district; I think my old one across town is still going to send a D to Washington. Still hoping Carly can pull this one off. Would vote to break up California in a heartbeat.

then stood outside my polling place until noon, handing out “2010 Conservative Voter Guides” (we have an unaffiliated candidate, so couldn’t list it as a Republican guide). Response was amazing. A majority took the handout I offered, and a significant number of those did so with a comment like “Absolutely”. Some refused me simply because they already HAD one, or one of their own design. I could probably count on one hand the number that refused me as obvious libs (I got one nice evil glare that had the people around me laughing).

We had 10 people out front handing out cards or flyers. Nine of them were Republicans. The one poor democrat kid stood there in baggy jeans, a sweatshirt with tons of “vote democrat” pins, hood covering her head and a cap on top of that. Had her voter guides shoved into her pocket. She ignored most of the voters…but if she saw an African-American she HOPPED up and ran to intercept them. I think she was shocked to see that many of them accepted MY voter guide…even when I clearly identified it as conservative!

Light turnout at my precinct. Steady but light. Hope our early & absentee voting kept dems at home. Now outnumber us by 80K in Central FL. Orlando used to be pretty conservative but recent wave newbies want the gubmint to take care of ‘em.

That said.. lots ofMarco yard signs on the drive over.

Voted for Rubio, Scott, and Jeff Miller (no serious foe in his 1st District race). VERY pumped to see an ?upset brewing in DE…this begs the question…which concession phone call would you like to eavesdrop on most?

Early counting in TX-25 has Dr. Donna Campbell leading Lloyd Doggett by almost 2 to 1 in early counts! And she was considered to have “no” (read NO!!! NONE!!! NADA!!! chance, as in ‘strong Dem’) chance!! You go girl!!!! I’m not in her district but I’ve been supporting her (we healthcare folks have to stick together, yanno).

It’s gonna be a Roller-Coaster night, I just know it!!! I’m going to have to just not look until the whole count is done. *heavy sigh* Dr Donna is now a bit behind.

Toomey winning the Senate (defying past wisdom that he is too conservative for a state like PA).

Fitzpatrick is called to win in PA-08, flipping that bellweather district red. The current margin of 16K if it holds up will make irrelevant the 20K absentee ballots that were impounded prior to the election because of suspected fraud.

CNN also is calling 4 other PA House flips red, no flips blue.

As I write this, Fox News has the House margin at 222 for the GOP and 147 for the Democrats. That’s an astounding margin, 60 percent or so.
