Net Neutrality: Congressional Career-Killer.

If you want to know who is having a worse day than the DCCC*, the DSCC**, or the DNC***, try the Progressive Change Congressional Committee.  You see, last week they issued a pledge in support of net neutrality that was signed by ninety-five candidates.

Every single one of them lost.

(pause)

Oops?

Moe Lane (crosspost)

*Fairly obvious.

**Yes, of course the DSCC will claim that they did a great job in losing one-third of their at-risk caucus, while ensuring that none of our seats flipped.  They can also claim that the moon is made of green cheese.

***There’s a lot of suddenly-Republican state legislatures out there, all of a sudden.  Just in time to prevent the Democrats from playing redistricting games with the Census, too.

I would elevate and highlight the level of scum that the initiative and people on this list are.

It’s a great example of how the Dems could care less about court decisions against issues if it doesn?t fit their narrative.

I would expound on this post often and point out the WH is still planning to break the law even further.

As Neil clearly shows, Obama and his Communist Czars, Sunstein, Genakowksi, Free Press and Google…..are now planning to ignore the law (AGAIN) and force back door censorship of the Internet. And the DemComm Congress backs this fully.

Let’s see, Obama has now undermined the economy, taken over corporations, promoted illegal voting, promoted racial hatred, promoted increased Black Panther intimidation at the polls, taken over the lame stream media, and killed all small business and industry in the country.

The Dems seem to still support all of the above. I think in the next election is going to be easier than I thought to remove a LOT more Dems

Not sure what their next bid to strangle the conversation will be, but I’m quite sure there will be one.

Mad props to Neil for covering this.

… I already sent engadget the link. Those greenie freaks really love their net neutrality.

Hopefully Net Neut will die in a fire now.

I was very confused on why Red State (and especially Neil) were opposed to net neutrality – so I read more.

Most techies don’t read more. They seem to assume it just means preventing the internet backbone providers from slowing down data based on how much the customer is willing to pay.

This is, as Neil has made clear, not the case – the Net Neutrality rules and laws proposed are much more broad – able to be interpreted as a “fairness doctrine” for the internet.

    Education is the key here….

Kind of reminders me of Gettysburg in the aftermath of Picket?s Charge

General Robert E. Lee: General Picket, you must look to your division.
General George Pickett: I have no division

Hmm. I wonder how many Dems will sign up in 2012.

You shouldn’t stereotype us techies. Net Neutrality is a very contentious issue in the tech world. Many techies were split on it.

In fact I never could decide which side was better or had the better argument. It was very equivalent to the lesser of two evils, both of which you couldn’t stand.

    I’m also a techie.

Every techie I talk to, once I stop using the label “net neutrality” and start giving examples of how this could be abused, looks horrified.

The majority of my techie peers automatically think that the “neutral” in neutrality translates in the libertarian “every packet for itself” way, since that’s how network routing is generally explained – packets are moved by the router in the order received.

It’s not that techies are a bad sort – I’d hope not! – but we, like most other trades, tend to use the definition of terms we’re most familiar with – a press means something different to a fitness pro than to a printer, for example, just like a switch means something different to a techie than to an electrician or a coach.
