Paul Ryan slices and dices Obamacare.

You know, the Democratic party is probably really regretting not targeting Paul Ryan‘s seat last quarter. Not that it would have actually worked, but at least they could have told themselves that they tried to avert events like these:

For those without video, this is three and three-quarter minutes’ worth of Rep. Ryan ripping apart last year’s useless CBO report on Obamacare costs, with some additional commentary added in on how you can reconcile said CBO report claiming that Obamacare will reduce the deficit while the CBO is saying elsewhere that Obamacare will increase the debt. Short version: when looking at the deficit the CBO was forced by the then-majority party to make assumptions that they couldn’t make while looking at the debt. Shorter version: Democratic politicians lie.

One last note: this is why you want to have the majority in Congress, by the way. As Ranking Member of the Budget Committee, Rep. Ryan would have had to fight and push for the opportunity to get even a minute to try to push back on Democratic agitprop: as Budget Chair he can take as much time as he darn well needs to smack down whatever nonsense that might hove into view. Do not underestimate the power to set, define, and steer the agenda; particularly do not underestimate the power to prevent people from peremptorily shutting you up.

Moe Lane (crosspost)

PS: Rep. Ryan also explained, for the slow of brain, why the Republicans are pushing this in the House even though they don’t control the Senate: it’s because this is the right thing to do, and the GOP said that they would do this. In other words: principles.

Prin-ci-ples.

P-R-I-N-C…

Oh, just look it up, ye Democratic Beltway elites…

Do I want this man moving up the ranks of the house, or would I rather him sit act in the executive branch. What a talent he is.

it’s that most of the rest of CONgress is so inept and compromised. It goes to show how far we have strayed in America. Ryan has common sense and integrity. It’s kind of sad that we celebrate this guy as a rock star when most everyone should be acting like Ryan.

I do agree that Ryan is a great asset. We just need to work on getting another few hundred like him elected.

there in the patheon, with the sun shinning through the oculus, where ceasar stood and pronounced the presence of sweet justice, before the eyes of god and man, for all to see. sweet justice, the guiding light of laws and integrity, a salve for the people, sweety justice…there in the unbeguiled light of the oculus.

    y on sweet not intended

and I look forward to see how his career unfolds and this things he is able to accomplish. Maybe the house has a new DeMint like persona in its presence.

will tell the truth to the American people and not just spout off political garbage. He made the Dems look like a bunch of fools and liars. Way to go Rep. Ryan!

he is also passionate which is what makes him a stand-out. Same way he was when he sat at that “bi-partisan table” and really shook the drawers off the One. I wouldn’t be surprised to see him tapped for V.P.

I wish all of the folks who think they want to keep obamacare would hear him. Some of them might learn something!

and he didn’t even mention the bribes that had to be offered to pass this monstrosity and the increasing list of companies getting exemptions. He’s passionate, articulate, intelligent and a great representative to put out as the face of the Republican Party.

This is going to be a fun two years.

Thank God for Paul Ryan. Absolutely brilliant analysis of Dem lies. Reid brings this to a vote in the Senate at his own peril…and he knows it. Any Dem Senator up for reelection from a conservative state who votes against repeal will likely lose their seat in 2012. Can’t wait to see how this all plays out in the next 2 years.

We need someone who can get in the weeds on the budget and healthcare issues.

  • thurman

He is not only one of the smartest men in DC, but he is incredibly effective at explaining complex budget issues in lay terms

His epic humiliation of Obama during the bogus staged Obamacare “summit” still makes me smile when I watch it

I agree he needs to be on the short list for VP this year (depending on the POTUS nominee) and a favorite in 2016

I think Biden would call in sick for the VP debate rather than face the verbal annihilation he’d get

  • walter_hanson

We need Ryan in the House to run the budget, but he could be the candidate to beat Kohl the next time that Kohl is up for reelection. He obviously make mince meat of him in the debates.

He i believe is one of the smartest men up there, and explained this whole thing in words even the libs can understand. They just do not want to hear it

The word on the street is that Nobody’s Senator Herb Kohl won’t be seeking re-election as he is getting up there in years. On the other hand, he is one of the richest Senators out there.

Complicating matters some is the local moonbats want to shove Kohl out even if he does run in favor of Russ el-Feingold.

I’m going to make USE of this one. 8*)

I’ve spent a lot of time arguing with idiots at my local paper’s site and this article is just what I need.

  • itrytobenice

I can’t tell right now who’s my favorite, Paul Ryan or Moe Lane.

    Great clip and great diary.

  • itrytobenice

And of course, it’s really a dilemma, not a dilema.

  • paultimmerar

I’ve read his Roadmap for America and the Pledge to repeal by republicans. Can someone try to help me find Ryans direct report on Obamacare and his analysis on paper so i can read it. It would give good information and direct lniks, and page numbers/line numbers for us to defend our issue.

The link to his analysis article would greatly help.

The media referee has to allow for a fair debate. There is a post about this on www.freemarketsfreepeople.net ?Why Don?t They Ask???

  • missyjanie

Wouldn’t it be nice to have this sound bite played over and over again on all news channels as opposed to the inconsequential dribble we get e.g. Yesterday with Cohan’s diatribe on likening the GOP to Nazis and the holocaust.
I became a fan of Paul Ryan when I first heard him. He is brilliant, honest and best yet, honorable. I think he should be our President in 2016 0r 2020. He is Reaganesque.

  • bluemosque

as a possible presidential candidate in one tea party site. I saw him in Congress on the day they voted on Obamacare last year and was quite impressed. Everytime I witness his performance I become more impressed–earnest, honest, fact-based statements, no smoke-and-mirrors. I would vote for him anytime, for any position. We need to seed the House and Senate with people like him. Don’t disappoint me, Paul Ryan.

  • YnotNOW

Rep Paul Ryan sets the bar HIGH
Others in Congress set the bar very LOW.
    it exagerats the difference….

If all the truths were put out for daylight to shine on them, a lot of Knowing members of congress would retire, now or for sure not re-run.

An old story once stated that the problem with buying an elected member of congress (and any other elected official) is that they just don’t stay bought. We need more assets like Ryan.

I hope he budget busts the BLM , FCC and other power mad Fed’s. All Departments that produce nothing are worth nothing and should be lined out of the budget. Period. Education, Energy, OMG this would make a great story book.
