TN Democrats go, charitably, nuts over teacher reform bills.

The alternative is 'deliberately inflammatory in a very literal sense because they want to see Tennessee burn.' Which is a bit of a mouthful.

Based on their latest email blast, the Tennessee Democratic Party seems to have a problem understanding what “fascism” is, not to mention “terrorism.” Apparently, Tennessee Democratic chair Chip Forrester and House Democratic chair Mike Turner seem to think that these terms are appropriate for describing several reform bills currently being considered by the Tennessee legislature. Presumably they mean HB 2012 and HB 0130; the first is a tenure reform bill that introduces merit into the tenure process and the second is a collective bargaining reform bill that removes the Tennessee Education Association’s privileged status as the only permissible agent for bargaining with school boards.

Or perhaps Forrester and Turner don’t mean those bills, given that neither actually does anything like set up a system for mass murder of inconvenient minorities, create a totalitarian state that controls every aspect of life, and/or start aggressive wars of conquest. It’s a bit of a puzzler – unless you assume that this is just a cynical ploy to get money, which is a notion that Jim Geraghty is cynically suggesting and I am just as cynically endorsing.

And since cynicism is ruling the day… what’s really at issue, of course, is the “fascism” on display in this chart showing the results of the last state elections:

Assembly Previous Current
GOP 51 64
DEM 48 34
IND 1
Senate Previous Current
GOP 19 20
DEM 14 13

So, remember: winning elections by large margins, and then governing in a manner consistent with winning elections by large margins, is now apparently “fascism” and “terrorism.” Clearly Chip Forrester and Mike Turner are the products of a public school education…

I am surprised that there is no allegation of racism to make up the left’s trifecta for sound bite chants. Also, if racism is alleged (and the allegers are appropriately non-white) Holder’s DoJ will proceed with an immediate investigation.

    Moe,

Thanks for featuring the fun in TN. Just a note, the TN Senate subcommittee passed the collective bargaining bill. The floor vote has been stalled due to “moderates” in the TN House. Sadly, the margins of Rs vs. Ds grew on the wave of a large conservative vote in Tennessee, but moderates and elites still refuse to acknowledge the principles in play,

Margaret Thatcher sums of the difference between those who govern like they campaign, on conviction, while others seek compromise and concensus:
“To me, consensus seems to be the process of abandoning all beliefs, principles, values and policies. So it is something in which no one believes and to which no one objects.”

when all the Obama/democrat minions were celebrating in the street, hooping about how they would right all wrongs, lying about how all things would become new all while knowing their intent was to slide this country towards socialism if they realized their actions and plans would piss this country off so much that just over two years later the entire country would be united in ending the union holds across the country, united in firing Obama, and united in wiping away all the “great” changes the scum brought us.

It is such a good day……………..

The dems are ‘beating the drums’ for money MORE than I have ever seen before. I am a registered Independent and I am frankly amazed at the number of emails I have received about “money bombs” and other donation requests. The dems are really pumped up over defending collective bargaining and maintaining their majority in the Senate.
The TN dems sound like they want to capitalize on this ‘opportunity’.

sounds like dostoevsky in “notes from underground”

and i have heard it said that obama did more for conservatives than reagan

Good thing I looked at the comments first. The moderates are scratching and clawing for what little power they still have.

Seems to me that this quote should be disseminated more widely. It applies perfectly to the “scientists” parroting the party line of consensus about Anthropogenic Global Warming.

    TN Residents call

    Rep. Richard Montgomery from Sevierville

    Phone: 615-741-5981
    Fax: 615-253-0303
    Email: rep.richard.montgomery@capitol.tn.gov

Rep. Ron Lollar from Shelby County

Rep. Lollar has recently said he supports moving the bill through the subcommittee. We aren’t totally sure on this, but since that is the current line please send your thanks for his support!

Phone: We recommend just emailing Rep. Lollar.

    Fax: Not listed

    Email: rep.ron.lollar@capitol.tn.gov

    Rep. Harry Brooks from Knoxville

We have a special message for Harry Brooks. It is unlikely that Rep. Brooks will support HB130, so our message to him is: No matter what you think about collective bargaining this matter is too big and important to be killed in a subcommittee. Please vote to pass this bill out of committee so the entire State House can decide if HB130 is good or not.

Cool that Lollar is on board. Considering what may be happening to schools in his district they will need every tool available to ensure quality education.

I made the mistake and voted for change, Never again, when I am lied to ignored and treated like crap I respond in kind. Liberals and Unions are all about money, power and control that is all they care about, I would not vote for a dog catcher at this point in time if he has a ?D? next to his name.

They are so stupid to not realize that those of us that don’t want unions etc Don’t want to have to continue to pay for these teachers and their ten year( especially when SO many usually never deserve ten year)
    Unions—be gone!!!
They are the death of this country.
