Sen. McCaskill: “We have paid every dime of our taxes.”

That is, McCaskill said that she did, back in 2006 (via Hot Air Headlines):

For those who don’t remember the initial controversy mentioned in the ad, McCaskill’s husband was linked to some extraordinarily poorly-operated Missouri nursing homes at the same time that McCaskill herself had oversight over Missouri nursing homes as Missouri State Auditor. As you can see, back in 2006 McCaskill vehemently denied any wrongdoing, just before she declared that she paid her taxes.

Which she actually did not do in 2006; and has continued to not do since then. Iknow that this is just repeating Bill S. ‘s excellent post from yesterday, which is why I would like to point out an old Tom Daschle campaign ad below. You may remember it: it’s the one where he bragged about driving his own car to work.

Actually, it’s the Daily Show’s replaying of said campaign ad – NBC pulled the original, for some strange reason – and it came out after it was revealed that Daschle had avoided paying taxes on a hundred grand’s worth of free chauffeur service. The point here is that while it is not surprising that people lie to get to Washington and lie to stay there, it should also not be surprising that people are becoming more and more willing to bring up and keep bringing up those lies. Senator McCaskill would be well advised to think about whether she’d actually like to spend more time with her family: unsuccessful re-election runs can be mortifying, I hear.

a bank robber getting caught, and then saying he should be forgiven because the money had been returned?

Never mind – it would only be a similar situation if before robbing the bank, the guy had getting paid to say that it would be a terrible thing for people to rob banks.

?We have paid every dime of our taxes? as far as you know since we got caught. By gosh if we get caught failing to pay other taxes we’ll pay those too.

Did Claire McCaskill(D) throw the crack-heads her husband was renting to into the street or the retirees he was exploiting under her official oversight?

Missouri is a pretty conservative state anyway, but McCaskill was someone I could winning reelection. Combine the plane scandal with a 2012 blowout in her state (regardless if Obama wins reelection, he’ll lose Missouri by at least 8 points) I see her getting swept away pretty easily.

What’s important though is we nominate a strong contender to knock her off, no more Sharon Angles please.

The libs are still hammering us with Sharon Angle and Christine O’donnell. Never mind the Charlie Rangel, Sheila Jackson Lee and the guy in Oregon that seems to have real mental problems Wu, I think. If you ask me Boxer is as nutty on the left as Angle and O’donnell are on the right, but we have to be held to a higher standard.

It’s tax season, I think I want to find out about that. I could get a whopper of a refund.

but usually the “nuts” on the Left are in safe districts and states where they can be as nutty as they want. Far-left Democrat “dingbats” (but I repeat myself) usually don’t get elected in Purple or Red States, they’re usually smart enough to run candidates that at least pretend to be sensible.

At the end of the day, I really don’t want the conservative equivalents of Barbara Boxer or Dennis Kuicinich. We can find qualified, smart, EXPERIENCED candidates that are solid on the issues, we don’t need to roll the dice with the Sharon Angles and Christine O’Donnells of the world.

It’s quite obvious that they don’t believe they have to pay the same taxes that they always vote to raise and levy on us peons.

They’re just following in the footsteps of the Treasury secretary and a certain NY Congressman, among others. Maybe they’re trying to get a Czar appointment from his majesty. This is just a requirement to serve in this administration. Don’t worry about your taxes…just apologize and everything is OK! Wonder what would happen if we ALL forgot to pay?

I have heard her speak several times on a swing through Texas and she is bright and articulate with an excellent idea of what needed to be done in Washington. The problem with Sharron Angle is that she was running against a career politician well-stocked with union thugs and other various unpleasantries in his back pocket. These characterizations of her are unfair. However, I agree that we need someone perhaps that is more well known in order to ensure a conservative victory.
