Death toll from Southeastern tornadoes at 178.

Most of that is from Alabama, which was hit hard by the storms – but most of the rest of the southeastern part of the country has been hit by the storms, so if you were planning to contribute to the American Red Cross this Christmas, well, they could probably use the help a little sooner than that.

Our prayers and good wishes for everyone hurt by this tragedy.  And remember: always keep a supply of fresh water, batteries, and other disaster relief supplies handy! You may not live in a tornado zone, but there’s always something.

who are suffering right now. The film on TV of these hard hit places is heartbreaking.

Has the Big O come out with any statement about what’s happening in these areas? Did I miss something? Or is he just so self-absorbed that this really doesn’t affect him.

and I bet a lot of my fellow Southerners, Obama can continue to ignore us– we’re much better off taking care of things on our own. Last thing we need right now is more outside meddling.
