FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Mark Halperin says what he thinks about Barack Obama’s speech.

The alternate title for this, of course, is “Mark Halperin calls Barack Obama a d*ck.”

A few thoughts on this:

  • The longer video – as opposed to the one found here – makes it kind of clear that when Halperin said that “I thought he was kind of a d*ck yesterday” it wasn’t precisely an off-the-cuff moment.  Nope.  Malice, as they say, aforethought.
  • As I noted elsewhere, I’d say that this was on national TV, except that it was just MSNBC.
  • Truth is a defense for slander.  The President was, in fact, a d*ck yesterday.

Still, this is why we have Yiddish: it allows us to say quite pungent things about people without needing seven second delays.

PS: It is perfectly acceptable, of course, to find this an affront to the dignity of the office of President of the United States, no matter what you think about the current occupant.  Mind you, nobody* on the Left has any business lecturing anybody on civility towards a sitting President, given the way that they spent most of the last decade personalizing their attacks on George W Bush…

*Nobody.  The ones who didn’t do it themselves still sat around and let other people say nasty, vile things.  Which is actually worse, in some ways.

So he would just be an A$%hole.

Finally someone on the left speaks the truth. I hope he has his resume handy.

The proper honorific for The Lightworker would have been “King RIchard.”

  • gmscan

Was the sight of them tripping all over themselves in abject apology. Over and over again. You would think the White House was sending goons over to MSNBC to terminate them all. Have any of them ever apologized for brutal attacks on conservatives? Didn’t think so.

  • youngsterz

How about for months, perhaps years. . . . .

I’m all for respect for the office. Which is why we need to elect someone else.

  • romeg

on the links in the 30 months he’s been in office than Ronald Reagan spent napping in his entire 16 years as Governor of CA and President of the US.

Reagan may have been, in Sam Donaldson’s words “An Amiable Dunce” but at least he wasn’t an abject FOOL.

  • johnt

It can’t be because he thinks O is a cheap demagogic , stooge who can’t get his lines straight and is fixated on severely damaging the country he hates. No, that can’t be it, after all what media degenerate doesn’t share those aspirations? My guess is that Halperin doesn’t think O and the rest of the trash are moving far and fast enough in the path of ruin, the hearts delight of the “progressives”.
    But I could be wrong.
And yes, the grovelling and self-abasement was wondrous to behold, and Halperin didn’t even call O a racist or nazi, terms still available in Left discourse.

  • Tbone

and Sam Donaldson was a d**k for claiming that.

  • Tbone

reference to our metrosexual, skinny neck, throw like a girl, cut and run, wimpy MPOTUS uses the opposite gender terminology.

  • johnt

by MSNBC, home of decorum and fairness. The sad lackey is still apologizing, grovelling and busy ridding himself of any minimal dignity.

I’d laugh if he got counselling papers on WH Letterhead.

“Upon further introspection, reflection and deep thoughts, I now know my having said about President Obama that ‘he was kind of a Dick yesterday’ during his press conference was, actually, an attempt to pay him a compliment. I was thinking back to the days of press conferences by another shrewd president, Richard Nixon, and while I was thinking about Richard Nixon’s press conference performances, I remembered some referred to President Nixon as ‘Tricky Dick.’ Yeah, yeah, that’s it, that’s the ticket, President Obama was acting like ‘Tricky Dick.,’ I thought. Yeah, yeah, that’s it — President Obama was acting like a Dick, not a ‘d-*-c-k. ‘ The Dick to which I was referring was ‘Tricky Dick’ Nixon.”

Okay, Halperin really didn’t make that statement.

Imagine if Sean Hannity (who, unlike Halperin, does not claim to be a “reporter”) had uttered what Halperin said. The Democrat Media would be demanding to know how long he had been having those thoughts, what the foundation for those thoughts were, with whom he had ever discussed those thoughts, where he was when he first had those thoughts, how he had come to have those thoughts, what the bases were for having those thoughts, etc., etc., etc. Will the Democrat Media ask these questions of their fellow “reporter.” To ask the question is to answer it.

Maybe Halperin will take another angle and blame Anthony Weiner and his wiener.

The expression on the symp sitting next to Halperin during the apology is priceless — a classic “OMGod!” deer-in-headlights look saying, “Uh oh, Halperin just really stepped in it, this is gonna get real ugly real fast, and I wonder how I can get off this set right now and then get as far away from Halperin as possible.”

MSNBC must be happy, as this will get them some free advertising and might actually boost their ratings a bit.

    Thank you.

But I find MSNBC wonderfully entertaining, and I imagine it will get even more entertaining as we close on the elections. If they re-branded their entire network as a comedy channel I feel their ratings would skyrocket.

And if he was a dunce, then we need more dunces.

  • msctex

. . .would he have called Nixon an Obama?

in the BCCC scandal. Who then blubbered all over his greedy and senile self in the courtroom. Once in a while there is an act of cosmic or holy justice.
    I wonder what awaits Obama?

    marriage to Michelle?

  • runner12

disrespectful, the sentiment is on target. The President not only acted incensed that anyone would dare question him on the decisions he has made, but he also shamelessly threw Congress under the bus.

He came across as arrogant and above his company and further entrenched the belief that he sees himself more as a monarch than the President of a Republic.

  • 6eorge Jetson

I mean, people are actually talking about MSNBC today.

    Hmmnnn….

and obummer implied that this congress did all the spending.

should have said Obama was petulant, boorish, belligerent, deceitful and delivered an oafish attempt at stoking the fires of class warfare, I’ll settle for the terminological exactitude.

  • http://www4.webng.com/rickbull/lostlucky/ rickbull

Reagan, on more than one occasion, zinged Sam pretty good in response to some of Sam’s stupid questions.

“After Mark Halperin’s outburst on Morning Joe, MSNBC’s ratings received a 66% boost: their viewership went from 3 viewers to 5. That is all.”

  • blooch

    “Flake, but accurate”

Not too many “Halperin is a racist” comments, though…that’s encouraging

  • blooch

    Can you dig it?

I dont see what the big deal is. This is the channel that calls women they dont like sluts on-air and used gay sexual double-entendres to label Tea Party activists.

I mean, comparing the President to Richard Nixon isn’t so bad compared to that.
