FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

The Democrats and unemployment, summed up in one screencap.

Hopefully, Breitbart is there.

[UPDATE] Jaw-dropper of the he-ran-in, then he-ran-out press conference itself: the President actually – and shamelessly – embraced the so-called “Bush tax cuts” that he campaigned against in 2008, and (extremely reluctantly) went along with in 2010.

I really should add some commentary to this, but what can I say that this picture does not?

The President’s eventual remarks on the job report will be available here.  Real Soon Now.

Not a put-down or a rhetorical question. He had a bizarre comment that unemployment wouldn’t effect the 2012 election. That seems spooky in light of today’s #.

    A Conservative’s “bizarre” is a Democrat’s “logical” reasoning! :)

    Here is the larger context:

    From “The Hill”

“The Obama campaign?s hope is that voters will feel the economy is improving in the fall of 2012, just as they did when Roosevelt and Reagan were reelected.

That seemed to be at the root of Plouffe?s remarks on Wednesday, as quoted by Bloomberg.

?The average American does not view the economy through the prism of GDP or unemployment rates or even monthly jobs numbers,? Plouffe said, according to Bloomberg. ?People won?t vote based on the unemployment rate, they?re going to vote based on: ?How do I feel about my own situation? Do I believe the president makes decisions based on me and my family??

    See:

    http://thehill.com/homenews/campaign/170309-plouffe-says-jobs-rate-not-key-in-2012

So as more layoffs snowball because of President Fair’s War-On-Business policies, will be people believe he is protecting the American family?

THAT would be a way for Republicans to launch a campaign: attacking businesses – especially small businesses – with regulations and high taxes is an attack on the front doors of every home in America. The connection is simple and concise and needs to be drummed home.

    What a moron.

    Of voting present.

    – the “o”!

  • blooch

    His spin that,

?People won?t vote based on the unemployment rate, they?re going to vote based on: ?How do I feel about my own situation? Do I believe the president makes decisions based on me and my family???

flies in the face of what his buddies in the MSM pump out every day:

“I’m OK But I Worry About My Neighbor”

“Most people when surveyed about their financial condition respond that they are fine. However, they think their neighbor is in real trouble.

Why do they think that? Because the news keeps reporting it. Every government scandal, increase in oil price, and foreign crisis is cause for alarm. Stop worrying, pour some cold water on your head and come to your senses.

    What Can You Do?
    Turn Off the TV
Try an experiment. Avoid all television for one week. At the end of the week, record how you feel. Do you feel better or worse than before? I’d bet over 90% will feel better. If you feel better why not see how long you can go without watching TV?

    Go on a “News Diet”
Avoid all news for one week. I guarantee you’ll feel better. Are you a news addict? Then you really need a news diet.

Nothing on the news will affect you one way or another. I don’t watch the news I get my information online. It’s more reliable and you can find exactly what you want.”

Plouffe had better get busy turning the MSM rudder from “Doom” to “Rosy” if he hopes for his comments to make any sense by the time “Summer of Recovery III” heaves into view.

In one sentence he says we need to cut back and live within our financial means, in the next part of his speech he says we need to raise the debt limit. He says that his administration has created 2 million jobs, and in the next sentence he says that we have lost 8 million jobs during that same time period. This was a speech from a man who is losing his country.

When you see your enemy drowning, jam a live firehose right in his kisser. Well played, Mittens, well played indeed.

He’s dumb enough to believe that the Government taking peoples’ money is good, yet aware enough to realize said poison is having undeniable negative effects, at least right now. So he is forced to embrace what he sees as heresy and the rest of us recognize as the thunderingly obvious, but he acknowledges the fact as briefly and tersely as possible.

So to answer my own titular question, I’m going with both. He’s an idiot by default, and just smart enough to be dangerous.

he’s recommending that we all jam our heads somewhere less pleasant.

In November 2012, he will have to endure an epic intervention with millions of the American people. His denial will be broken. He may even cry. I can assure you he, and the others on the left like him, will learn nothing. The meme will be that, “we, the people were not capable to understand and grasp just how smart they all are.”
There is an old saying, “Please don’t pee on my leg and call it sunshine.” Obama is good a spreading “Sunshine.”

I was appalled at the reported responses from the congressional GOP from the terrible job figures. Obama is on message blaming the GOP. GOP is off message from holding Obama responsible. Its the bites talking about other stuff that takes away from holding Obama responsible. Example is the House Speaker talking about getting a deal is like solving a rubix cube. They have media experts to help them. Stay on message guys.

He’s proving a tougher candidate than I expected.
