The “HEY! LOOK! BALD EAGLETS!” Distraction Open Thread.

They found four of ‘em in one nest in Maine:

Apparently they usually go with two at a time, and very rarely three eggs hatch and survive.  Four eaglets in one nest that make it is a phenomenon.  But then, Bald Eagles have made it off of the endangered species list in Maine, so maybe there’s something in the water up there.

Open thread – and, free advice?  Keep it light, folks.  For your own sakes.

We are doomed, doomed I say!

    But the eagles are cool.

Supposedly the credit rating agencies want us to cut $4 Trillion from our budget over the next 10 years. Neither Boehner not Reid’s plans reduced deficit by $4 T.

So our credit rating will be reduced. What then is the purpose of these bills? Each side’s leadershp is pretending nothing is wrong so they do not hurt re-election chances.

But Something is wrong. Very Wrong.

But whichever, they are a beautiful sight to behold.

when the worst thing that could happen would be Sarah Palin running for President.

But in a way, we know who will stand firm,
and who just wants to play Monty Hall.
It’s (lets make a deal) in case some don’t catch that.

Palin running was well down the list.

It was slightly injured, but has been rescued and will be fine soon. Apparently this is the first sighting of an eagle near Spartenburg, SC in many many years.
I do know that eagles were becoming populous on the coast near Beaufort/Hilton Head.
I think the return of the eagle (off the endangered list) is one of the best environmental stories around. Unfortunately there have been some negative consequences from the banning of ddt. Trade offs, trade offs.

    Well, that’s what I tell people. :-(

of things to come for our country. An American Symbol growing strong after it was considered an endangered species. My wife and I have been seeing 2-4 mature eagles and several juveniles while fishing on the Upper Potomac in a 5 mile stretch on many occasions. We have found 1 new nest as well. Pretty awesome they are. Again, it is God showing us that our Country can and will survive.

The cause and effect are definitely there. To not admit it shows one is in denial.

Why doesn’t he just begin debate on his bill while he’s waiting to see what happens in the House?

My twisted (alleged) sense of humor also makes me wonder why liberals calling the Boehner bill “dangerous”, “Armageddon”, “Doomsday”, etc. are also whining that Boehner and Republicans in general are being “held hostage” by the Tea Party. If passing that bill out of the House means the end of the nation as we know it, shouldn’t they be thanking the Tea Party if they defeat it?

…for bird-watching. I live in Michigan, and both of my parents are into birdwatching and such. Whenever I go to visit them, my Mom is perched in the window with a pair of binoculars and chirping about this years latest hatch getting out and about, and my dad is pecking around his wood shop, and showing off his latest masterpiece of bird feeding and housing. Good times. Good time of year.

The House adds an amendment raising the Debt Ceiling by $2 trillion to be phased in over the next 4 years, thereby limiting the deficit growth by no more than $500 billion per year, to the Ryan budget and repass it and send it to the Senate. Then adjourn for two weeks.

Here ya go Harry, what’s ya gonna do?
