FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

Rasmussen and the Global Warming Liars.

Hey, don’t look at me. Or Rasmussen Reports. We’re just reporting results. Object to the American people:

The latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of American Adults shows that 69% say it’s at least somewhat likely that some scientists have falsified research data in order to support their own theories and beliefs, including 40% who say this is Very Likely. Twenty-two percent (22%) don’t think it’s likely some scientists have falsified global warming data, including just six percent (6%) say it’s Not At All Likely. Another 10% are undecided. (To see survey question wording, click here .)

…and when those who are objecting are done objecting, they may want to contemplate that one major reason that the ultimate sources for climate science funding are apparently so jaundiced about climate scientists might possibly be because climate scientists have been known to be condescending [expletive deleted] whenever the possibility of a suggestion of a hint of an observation that maybe the science of global warming isn’t quite as settled as the climate scientists say that it is. Now, in of itself that’s merely a garden-variety example of all-too-common, secular humanist arrogance; it’s just that such arrogance doesn’t mesh well with revelations of skulduggery. Or exhibitions of vicious bile. Or revelations of financial conflict of interest. Or just demonstrations of abject Senatorial stupidity. Although it almost* seems unfair to drag Senator Ma’am (D, CA) into this…

Moe Lane (crosspost)

PS: Note that the survey isn’t saying that 69% of Americans think that climate scientists are all liars.  They just think that it’s real easy for the liars to hide out in that particular set of tall grass.

*Almost. “…there were scientists who did call for the Ice Age…”

I finally started reading Liberty and Tyranny and am on the chapter on enviro-statism.

I’m encouraged that some people are actually catching on to the scam of global cooling global warming climate change.

I have a handfull of issues I use to differentiate between good, limited government, sane, conservative politicians and the others. One of the best is global warming. Whatever you call it, if a politician has ever advocated policy changes based on global warming or stated a belief in the existence of global warming (ala Mitt Romney, Tim Pawlenty and others), then they are disqualified from the GOP nomination if their is another “sane” candidate running in the primary. I look at it this way — if you are gullible enough to believe mankind can change the weather, then you don’t deserve public office.

entire theory of AGW. The theory as you may recall, says that CO2 traps heats in the atmosphere. The report that came out says the earth is releasing far more heat than previously thought and far more than the computer models predicted.
Of course the alarmists who blame every occurance on GW will probaly say that CO2 causes heat to be retained and released at the same time.

If you make the poster-child of your movement a washed up politician – why wouldn’t you be the beacon of unquestionable truth?

They are aware it is a scam, but believed some Good could (somehow) come of what would amount to the largest-scale act of organized crime in human history. A protection racket, of a worldwide scale instituted by Governments.

Ignorant, or corrupt? So much seems to be coming down to that one question, of late.

spreading the truth about global warming lies. I wonder if Al regrets inventing it.

You just ruined my week, and I got all the way to Thursday.

I hate Barbara Boxer. I merely despise Feinstein.

EPA is going forward with regulatory programs (despite evidence/facts otherwise). Since cap and trade didn’t float, they’ve used CAIR to hit the power companies where it’s going to hurt all of us. This is a rule that is supposed to prevent drifting of pollution from power plants into adjacent states. The word is the plants won’t be able to meet it without serious reductions or elimination entirely of coal. It’s been mentioned in certain circles, come May 1, 2012 they are talking about rolling black outs and incredible rate hikes. You’d think they’d shout from the roof tops, but it’s shooting themselves in the foot as EPA can shut them down by holding up or denying permits. The rule already ran the courts, but they are forging ahead.

He started to do the usual liberal snark, the poorly veiled condesencion that I could be so niave to think that AGW was some sort of worldwide hoax, and ignorant of the fact that all deniers are tools of the petroleum companies.

I proceeded to school him about the worldwide hoax known as Nuclear Winter, how AGW is basically Nuclear Winter with provisions for making certain politically well-connected financiers very VERY rich and certain financially well-connected politicians very VERY powerful. I also explained about the behavior of dynamical systems in runaway and how it doesn’t match the observed data, the lack of upper atmosphere warming, and apparent simultaneous warming on Mars and Neptune, how the carbon traders stand to make billions by commoditizing poverty in the third-world, how the third-world will be forced to remain in a pre-industrial state of crushing poverty, and how cap-and-trade will bankrupt the industrialized world while not actually doing anything to solve a problem that no-one’s actually proven to exist, even after billions in research grants.

I don’t think he was ready for all that. It felt really REALLY good to remove the smirk from his voice and force him to admit that he didn’t really understand anything about the science.

I’m still trying to figure out how that ends up being the usual “defense” that most alarmists trot out when you overwhelm thier superstitions.
