Former John Kerry staffer John Kiriakou arrested for blowing CIA agents’ cover.

Mind you, you wouldn’t know that from the Washington Post’s article on the arrest of John Kiriakou. While the Washington Post – from appearances, somewhat reluctantly – reported that Kiriakou (a former CIA officer and Senate Foreign Affairs staffer) had been arrested for revealing names, operations and investigations to the media back in 2008-2009, the paper completely neglected to mention who Kiriakou ended up working for – which is to say, Senator John Kerry (D, MA). Oddly enough, the Washington Post managed to simultaneous note that “[t]he committee had not been aware of the criminal probe of Kiriakou, according to a former U.S. official familiar with the matter” in its article, while unaccountably mentioning that Kiriakou has been leaking classified information publicly for years – including to the, well, Washington Post. One can only guess why a premiere Left-Establishment paper would be so eager to whitewash the record when it comes to protecting prominent Left-Establishment politicians… like, say, John Kerry, who is the Chairman of the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee (at least until next January)…

One last note: I don’t say this often, but I have to admit that the Obama administration has been a lot better on hammering down violators of the Espionage Act than I expected them to be. Politico reports that the current number of investigations “exceeds the number of such cases in all previous administrations combined;” and while I may have a low opinion of the White House’s motivations (essentially, I think that the Obama administration hates it when people talk out of turn on anything) I’m not going to overly quibble about results. I recognize the need for whistle-blowing and oversight, but the rules are there for a reason. Some things out there really should be only available on a need-to-know basis, and I don’t need to know them. And neither do you.

So. A chill wind a-blowing, and that suits me just fine. And John Kerry needs to do better vetting of his staff. Particularly when it comes to this guy: I mean, correct me if I’m wrong, but doesn’t it seem to be a little odd that Kerry would pick as a senior adviser somebody who would think that it’s a good idea to release classified photos and names of CIA operatives to the media? Particularly since both the photos and names ended up on the wrong side of the bars in Gitmo?

Absolutely classic example of the popular party game, “Name That Party!”

Of course, once you know the basic trick, you always can guess when it isn’t mentioned early in the story or in the headline. Hint: if it doesn’t SAY he’s a “Republican” then he must be a . . .

  • popster

The ruling class does it again, this time the Democrats because they incorporated it.
The Republicans are just as guilty, out of jealousy, but this wasn’t there turn.

and even minutely admit that vetting his employees is worth it, or just palm it off on some poor sap , fire him/her, and *MoveOn*?
    From his past performances:
1)Did he EVER release his #201/military files and medical records like he Promised? Why… No, he didn’t.
    2) Did he ever admit he didn’t spend Christmas in Cambodia like he claimed? Why, he couldn’t, ’cause it never happened.
    3) Did the U S Park Service ever prosecute him for Campaigning in front of The Vietnam Wall?, or did he ever apologize /mea culpa for this transgression? No, & No
4)Was he ever censured or given any reprimand for going to the Paris Peace Talks in his Uniform, talking with North Vietnamese delegates, violating Code of Conduct rules at a minimum, or did he {again, tellingly } apologize, etc. for same? Surely you jest, mon ami’.

On the other hand you don’t see him much anymore and that is it’s own kind of blessing.

Who’s got the Puck? How much is THAT at auction???

Nothing surprises me about Kerry or his staff. On my wall-of-shame, Kerry and Jane Fonda share the number one spot, Obama number two. The Democrats and MSM use the term ‘Swiftboated’ as a pejorative, but then one expects them to consider the truth to be pejorative, to them anyway. John Kerry is the only US Senator and ex-serviceman to hold a position of honor in the North Vietnamese war museum. They considered him a kindred spirit, ally and useful tool alright. He’s a tool, alright. So when he gets a bad apple on his staff, we know it won’t fall far from the tree.

Harken back to those thrilling days when the WaPo fearlessly trumpeted the story of Scooter Libby “outing” Valerie Whatshername at the CIA? SO what if the charges were bogus, he got what he deserved for daring to work for Dick Cheney.

But now it seems that the WaPo’s enthusiasim for the subject seems to be flagging a bit? Goodness, gracious, how mysterious! Whatever could have happened???

If you wonder if your vote for Left Libtard John Kerry would have advanced the cause of the Marxist Enemies of America, wonder no more. They are here. They are actively seeking the destruction of America. They have aligned themselves with the Islamists.
