FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

RS at CPAC: EJ Otero (R CAND, FL-11 PRI).

Florida is volatile, this cycle: the combination of redistricting, the adding of two seats, and the status of Florida as a battleground state has caused for a lot of jockeying for positioning and seats.  It was pretty much a relief to speak to Col. E.J. Otero, USAF (Ret.), who simply wants to toss out the liberal Kathy Castor from the 11th district. As usual, we talked about CPAC and this race.

Col. Otero’s site is here.

Another good military man with executive experience. A conservative hispanic. He should be able to bounce her out. Here is hoping.

This is one of the reasons I like RedState. I get to meet candidates from all over the country. I get to see people I would never have the opportunity to meet but yet could affect my life.
    I like this guy.
I will send him some money.

    But he’s running in FL-11, a D+11 district, which hasn’t had a GOP representative in 40 years.

In 2008, FL-11 went for Obama over McCain by 66-33.

Did redistricting shave anything of or make it worse? Also Someone like EJ will do better in the district then here 2010 opponent, especially if he can raise the amount of money she did in ’10, about 800K.

I think many of us realize that winning the Senate and winning back the House are as important, or maybe even more important, than winning the White House.

I really appreciate you and Red State helping us get to know the various candidates so we know who to support. Like many I no longer donate to the RNC, but have been contributing directly to the candidate for several years now.
