On hearing that Andrew Breitbart has passed.

[UPDATE] Thinking about the sad news some more – and seeing not only Jeff’s post, but Erick’s and Brad’s; for that matter, the outpouring of sentiment across the right-blogosphere (and a certain tentative undercurrent of hate across the left-) – I wondered what Andrew would say to comfort the folks that know and miss him, if only he still could. Then I realized that I knew exactly what he’d say: Andrew would give one of those pauses of his and then quote some of the old labor organizer/hooligan Joe Hill’s last words.

Don’t waste any time mourning. Organize!

Partially because it’s good advice, and partially because Andrew never thought that it was about him, per se… but mostly because the Activist Left absolutely hates it when we take away their most cherished mythological constructs and use them in the cause of righteousness. Which is why Andrew kept doing it to them, of course.

[Original post below]

I knew the guy slightly, as part of the entire blogging/new Media network. He was very good at what he did, always had a good thing to say about RedState when talked, and infuriated the vilest elements of the Online Left* by his mere existence to a degree that left the rest of us in envious awe. I am very sorry to hear of his death, and offer my prayers and good wishes to his wife and children.

PS: My friend and RS colleague Jeff Emanuel just put up his eulogy for Andrew.

*I suspect that said elements will be self-identifying with some glee, today. Including some surprising ones.

how his moral conscience drove him away from the Democratic Party. God we will miss this man. In mourning with the rest of us…pray for his family. God bless.

    Guaranteed for……Great results!

they see themselves as morally superior.

I actually spent a weekend with a former conservative freind that is now full on liberal. Amost to the point of being a bit wacky. He teaches at a university so maybe that is it. Or maybe the republican party has so thoroughly screwed the pooch on conservatism that people don’t can’t see the merits of true conservative policies.

Breitbart was fearless in using his own sins and failures to illustrate how he was led to conservatism and how much better his life was because of that conversion. He used that conversion to make the world better for all of us. Would that some of our other so-called brethren would show such conviction.

May his soul rest in peace and may his wife and children be comforted by Gods loving arms. Andrew Breitbart’s death at such a young age should be a wake-up call for us all. He lived every minute he was granted to its fullest. Kiss your loved ones and hold them close today. He will be sorely missed. Praying for his family.

We should remember the fallen, but also Andrews life should also be a rallying point. We should remember for what he stood, but more importantly WHERE he stood, which was right out front. Not only would he confront the left in all its evil, but he would also stand right in front of those on the right who had chosen the timid path.

Andrew always reminded me of a quote by J. K. Rowling; “It takes a great deal of bravery to stand up to our enemies, but just as much to stand up to our friends.”

My prayers to his family and loved ones.

Rest well my friend you have earned it.

and surprised the sh*t out of a left that feels its lies and hate can be comfortably hidden from view.

blamming trolls too early. I converted at age 38 but it would have been later if I hadn’t had the conservative arguments ringing in my head from years earlier from Pat Buchanan on Crossfire, Buckley on Firing Line and the Bible! more later

it takes a lot of work to deny how the world, i.e. be deliberately deny the truth/constantly re-define reality is and eventually they just give up and accept things the way they really are…

Isn’t there an old saying to the effect that if your not liberal when you’re young you have no heart, but if you’re not conservative when you’re older you have no brain?

he used one of his many farming metaphors: “Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abides alone; but if it die, it brings forth much fruit.”

Breitbart’s premature passing will be worth it if his death results in many more like him arising to carry forward his banner of truth. May we all consider how we will carry on in his name and by his example.

I will miss the True Warrior that Andrew Breitbart is. I say is because because now Andrew is truly free to know what the left is doing and planning and if possible he will make their lives,,,, well no time to use that word. I am old enough to have seen the true warrior show up just in time to do the job that needed doing, history is full of them and sooner or later they reach hero status. In my view Andrew made hero status in his life time, he will be missed.

If a person does not choose truth they will be lost.
