Is the Department of Justice sanitizing its connection to Media Matters for America?

OK, here’s the background.  CJ Ciaramella is a reporter at the Washington Free Beacon, and he emailed the Department of Justice to find out if they had any response to the allegations being featured in Kate Pavlich’s latest book on the Operation Fast & Furious scandal (Fast and Furious: Barack Obama’s Bloodiest Scandal and the Shameless Cover-Up).  Specifically, the allegation that there was a third gun found at the scene of Border Agent Brian Terry’s murder that could be traced back to that DOJ/DEA botched gunrunning operation; and that the existence of this third gun was being covered up in order to protect a confidential informant.  And let me note in passing: I don’t care how highly-placed this alleged informant could be; his or her needs do not take precedence over the needs of Agent Terry’s surviving loved ones, or indeed the survivors of anybody that the US government helped murder by freely letting guns get illegally sold to Mexican narco-terrorists.

But let us move back to the main point: Ciaramella emailed the DoJ for their response to this issue… and the DoJ’s official response, in the form of one Office of Public Affairs spokeswoman Katie Dixon?  Go read Media Matters for America (MMfA).

No, really.

Now, never mind the fact that MMfA is a notoriously anti-Semitic organization.  Also never mind that it’s in what is alleged to be a near-constant violation of the tax exemption rules for nonprofits.  Never even mind that its stated purpose (as per its application for tax-free status) is to go after supposed “Christian influence” in the media.  What makes this particularly egregious is that (as CJ Ciaramella noted) the MMfA article does not actually address those allegations.  In other words: it’s not just that the DoJ is officially responding to requests for information with links to claptrap being peddled by Jew-hating hard Left groups.  The DoJ is officially responding to requests for information with completely extraneous links to claptrap being peddled by Jew-hating hard Left groups.

And it’s starting to look like this is sinking in over there, because the cover-up’s started.  Breitbart.com has to keep updating its post on this scandal-within-a-scandal, because the sanitizing is ongoing.  First, Kate Dixon’s prior (and previously public) links to the DNC, Organizing for America were hidden; now Dixon’s prior tweets are apparently being retroactively vetted – and when necessary, deleted.  Needless to say, nobody’s talking over at DoJ – which means that nobody’s explaining whether all of these clumsy attempts to obscure the record are either Dixon’s own idea, or Justice’s.

Great to get an answer on that, by the way.  And, hey: at least they’re tacitly admitting that getting caught at treating with MMfA too openly is a public relations disaster…

and how do you leave out Obama, the greatest puppet since Pinocchio, unavailable as his pampers are being changed.
Another bungle from the people who know it all but can’t get out of their own way. Still, a story being suffocated by our, ugh, free press.

This feels very familiar. I have been through this before I am sure. Obama reminds me of the other “most paranoid” President elected in my life time. This is what politics felt like in the summer of 1972.

Then it hit me. Joe Biden is only a heart beat away from being President. Unlike Agnew, Biden is not the easy target to remove if these scandals keep growing. Given Obama’s history of sticking his nose in everything, I don’t doubt for a second they will go all the way to the top. I only hope that President Obama looks around for an alternative to Biden before the next election.

I have some hope. After all, Joe Biden is a role player and technically if Obama wins this year?s election he will not run again in 2016. So it might be a good time to offset the appeal of getting rid of him with a different demographic in the VP slot to balance the ticket. Someone that might carry the ball in 2016. The Biden ?experience factor? is no longer an issue. Some people think that is the reason Obama selected Biden. Personally I think Obama was scared and wanted a complete fool as Vice President to give pause to anyone thinking of modifying the length of his term . Obama continues with the “racist country and white folks can?t be trusted” narrative. But Obama no longer needs the “crazy guy in the co-pilot seat” benefit of someone so outlandish that even the most dangerous “bitter clinger” wouldn’t want Obama to suffer a heart attack or anything.

Obama won an overwhelming victory in 2008 and has proven a very capable if wrong headed leader. His experience in the White House even if you disagree with his policies, work ethic and inability to keep his mouth shut is established. So, Biden doesn?t serve any benefit to Obama.

I can only hope that Obama selects someone from among the many democrat governors or former governors to be his running mate. Someone less fascinated by the taste of his own foot then Joe Biden and less likely to start a war by faux pas . Because it sure feels like 1972 all over again and even people not old enough to remember that can figure out where this could lead.

Now that I think about it, that could explain why President Obama has set a record with four Chiefs of staff in his administration. Like a line from a movie or an urban legend every ?knows? it is the chief of staff that goes to prison and given time to figure out what is going on, nobody wants to play the H.R. Haldeman role for Obama

The Katie Pavlich’s book on Fast and Furious cover ups inside the Obama administration is a step to constructing a timeline from which Holder can not deny events happened.

She asserts also that alledged ,and I stress ‘alledged’, informants cover can not be protected if murder is involved. Confidentiality does not trump murder. For all we know this informant is a cover story for yet another cover up.

Either there was a third gun from the DOJ gunwalkers’ operations at scene of Agent Brian Terry’s death or there was not.
That DOJ feeds info the Media Matters is beside the point. That Media Matters does not address the allegation is also beside the point.

Media Matters is not authorized to speak for DOJ nor is it able to verify if it wanted to be independent.

Let DOJ issue their own official reply to inquires about a third gun at crime scene where Border agent Terry died. A simple reply will do for starters.

Fast and Furious has so much smoke and mirrors alibi talk ,mazes and outright smoking guns that it is worth it to keep searching for the fires fueling the smoke.
